    Blackened chicken and coleslaw
    Quin B.

This is a fairly new restaurant on the block after replacing the spot of a closed down mexican restaurant. First I thought I was ordering a blackened chicken sandwich when I was just ordering a piece of blackened chicken. The menu could use some separation between the two. I was given some bread after asking tho. I hope this establishment makes some improvements. I did not feel my plate was cohesive. The chicken was missing that deep blackened seasoning, the beans and rice were not bad, the coleslaw was very good, and as you can see in the pics everything is separated.

Please do not eat the gumbo! The shrimp had a sour taste and gumbo lacked flavor.

I expected this to taste like It was from Louisiana since it's in the name, this is Texas Cajun food. The Gumbo was bland and the shrimp tasted old/sour. We did enjoy the seasonings on the live crawfish. The service was great and the food was hot and fast - it just was not fresh and flavorful as food is in Louisiana.

Ask the Community - Louisiana Crab Shack

Is this a real place? Street view on the map doesn't show it and my Garmin GPS couldn't find the address.

Yes. As a matter of fact, I just ate there last night. They still gave crawfish and they are delicious. Put in Red Robin cedar hill and it ma in the shopping center across from chase. Same center as Plato’s closet. Enjoy!

One of two places it looks like to eat in Founders Row. Came with a group of 7. We stood around the bar height tables and had drinks for about an hour before finally sitting down. The bartender took great care of us despite the size of the group and ensured we had everything we needed. Once we sat down, the real magic happened. We ordered a few apps for the table, calamari, spinach and artichoke dip and alligator bites. I only had some of the artichoke dip and some of the complementary smoked salmon dip they brought out. Didn't want to be too full for the catfish plate I ordered. The artichoke dip was made with smoked Gouda and was great. The other apps got great comments from other people in the party. I ordered a fried catfish plate that came with grilled shrimp, coleslaw and fries. Catfish was cooked perfectly and the grilled shrimp were delicious, great seasoning. The coleslaw is made with cabbage, green bell pepper and apple cider vinegar. Really great combo that worked well. Service was great especially for our large party. Our server who was also the bartender because we sat in the bar area kept a fresh soda water in front of me the entire time, never had to ask. The manager/owner? even stopped over to check in on us a couple of times. Stop in for a great meal, I wish I could return to try the crawfish etoufee.

There's also an easy-going ambiance reminiscent of that Crescent City charm with a menu and service to match. We were delighted to see so much of the late David Wilson's cuisine on the menu from his Cedar Hill restaurant. His son Shawn has a jewel here and it was tough to decide on an entree. There are many enticing newer items. Special menu items included a Spinach Artichoke Dip, Steelhead Trout, and even Grouper! Our waiter, Tanner, was very kind and helpful. Eventually I ordered an old favorite, the Fried Seafood Platter with Fried shrimp, scallops, and catfish that came with a Remoulade, a sweet and spicy Cocktail Sauce and a delicious Tartar Sauce. Substitutions were not a problem and of the sides, I ordered the sautéed Spinach and a potato cake! My husband was easy. Wilson's Pot Roast was calling him. Cooked with Cajun seasoning and slow roasted, it's served with mashed potatoes, celery, carrots, fried onions and gravy. He also wanted some Jalapeño Hush Puppies. There was virtually no wait for our food or so it seemed. Our food arrived and it was terrific, first bite to last. Odd that I would enjoy a vegetable so much but the spinach was excellent and it disappeared. All of my Seafood was perfectly fried with even my shrimp tails edible - nice and tender and crunchy. The potato cake was also yummy. I haven't had one in some time. That thin fried shell with the creamy tasty interior ... My husband was over there seemingly playing in his fried onions and gravy. I had to laugh. And then try some. Ooooh. So good. He couldn't stop eating them. And the roast beef! Very tender and a huge portion. We were definitely impressed with our first outing. The restaurant is beautiful. A gorgeous bar takes up one side of room. There are tables with pews for seating, and others with a singular banquette on one side and chairs on the other. These tables can be moved. There are two unisex restrooms. Everything was very clean. The "Revival Tent" patio is equipped with fans and lighting and would be nice in almost any weather. There is ramped handicapped access in front. We're coming back soon. I was impressed with the environs, pricing, portions, quality and especially the service.

Ladies and Gentlemen...WE HAVE A WINNER~!!!! 6*****…read more Food - OK, this is what G-d meant fried catfish to be. Moist. Flaky. Well seasoned coating. Crisp outside. Thermonuclear hot from the fryer. Just damn good fried catfish. On the downside...the fried shrimp were a bit on the small side and a bit too greasy out of the fryer...however, the shrimp flavor came through. Pre-fab packets of tartar sauce and ketchup are minor demerits; but, the cocktail sauce is homemade with visible flecks of horseradish. Hidden gem - in the bottom of your container, under the fish and fries, are marinated pickle and carrot slices AND a whole jalapeno. There's a kick here that adds a bit of extra spice to your meal. Warning, the tartar sauce and ketchup may be under your meal container hiding from you as everything is packed "to go", even if you're dining there. Dig deep to make sure you find everything. BONUS - canned sodas only and they're ONLY $1.00 (as of today...your experience may be different) Service - counter service with a pager for when your order is ready. The wait can sometimes be lengthy if the kitchen is slammed with take-out, call-in, delivery service, etc. orders...you really don't know until you get there. Ambiance - you gotta' want it to get it. The location is on the dark side of the fringe of a freeway/bridge construction/reconstruction zone. Once you figure out how to get access, the parking is challenging as there's one in/out and 4 separate storefronts using it...and the construction zone is right there.... All said, be courteous and patient and you'll find a spot. Upside - if you find a parking spot, you'll find a place to sit if you want to dine in. The place is clean, quiet, and has lots of TV's (for the size of the place) to keep you occupied while you wait on the kitchen. I found this place on a random Google maps search and I'm over the moon that I found it and braved the traffic to get inside. The food alone is worth the trip. Stick to what they do best - catfish - filets, strips, or steaks and you'll never be disappointed.

The Menudo and the Pozole were definitely at least a level 3 spice for me (but I'ma wimp when it comes to spice). The menudo, same generous size bowl, was too spicy for Ma so we took it to-go for my dad. Bro ordered Enchiladas Verdes plate w/chicken.. again very generous portion w/4 enchiladas rice n beans. The green sauce was a little spicy as well for him. He only ate half. Grandson ordered beef asada quesadilla plate which he loved served with rice and beans. Granddaughter ordered 2 plain bean and cheese tostadas but expected cheddar cheese and not queso fresco... well, I gobbled those up for her too! To drink, sweet tea has free refills, the large Jamaica was tasty, and the kids opted for Jarritos. It was 84.99 for three adults and two kids. A little pricy in my opinion but I'd go again to try more menu entrees.

The crawfish tasted old, like it had been sitting or reheated, and the seasoning was extremely weak compared to other locations. The sausage tasted undercooked, which is concerning on its own. What really raised a red flag for me was that something in my bag had a strange, almost soapy or chemical taste. That is not normal and points to a potential food safety issue. I ended up throwing the food away because I didn't feel comfortable continuing to eat it. When it comes to seafood, freshness and proper handling are critical, and this location is clearly missing the mark. There is a major inconsistency in quality compared to other locations. This wasn't just a bad meal, it felt like a potential health concern. Management asked me to give them another chance, and unfortunately, this visit confirmed the problem rather than fixing it.
