Location is easy to get too, right off the highway. Great for larger groups and kid friendly. Larger screens to watch the games being broadcast. Pretty good seafood, they actually have real catfish. While the food was top notch the service was lacking to say the least. We had a large party and splitting the tab is generally not a big deal. It was a complete sh** show here. We're all compassionate adults who would never stiff a restaurant. With that being said. The server didn't keep track of what table ordered what which resulted in an additional 45 minute delay in getting my food as well as my brother in law being charged additionally because the server didn't keep track of what was paid and what wasn't. Came looking for seafood and seafood is what I got! We walked in and was greeted and taken to a table. Menus were given and we were told about the specials. We opted to order a boil and share it. When the food came to the table, it was more than enough for the both of us. Everything was cooked well. It was recommended to get the boom seasoning however the boom seasoning was not was I expected. It kinda fell a little flat. The fries were okay however I could have done without them. I felt like the eggs were over cooked (had the green ring) and it didn't add much to the boil. We sat at a table by the window - IT WAS FREEZING! We asked the server about the temp and she informed us that they had turned off the air (it was cold outside as well) however after about 5 minutes the air was back on full blast making sitting in the restaurant unpleasant. Overall we had a good meal however next time I'd bring a jacket so I can enjoy myself. read more

When we got to the restaurant the parking lot was full of cars but there was plenty of parking on both sides and at the front. It was a little hectic when we came in and took a second for us to get seated but once we did it was a great experience. Our waiter was great and very attentive. The cocktails were delicious and the food was even better! The menu has ton of combination options to choose from for you to get everything you want in your seafood boil. They also offered fried seafood options as well. The restaurant was pretty loud but not too loud to where we couldn't hear ourselves talk. The vibe is very fun and upbeat. Amazing crab boil! Messy and fabulous! This is our go-to seafood place. We've never been disappointed.

The food is always hot and fresh and delicious! This is my go to spot for seafood, their food is inexpensive and good for when you're on a budget, can get like 4 items for 20 bucks! I haven't had a bad experience here in terms of food or service. My usual server, Jasmine, is always so nice and entertaining (I highly recommend her) and the overall ambiance is very inviting! We love crafty crab. Food never disappoints ! Our server Yudith was amazing! Love their happy hour (All day Monday- Thursday).

Well let me tell you this place got some good seafood! The sauce was thick and flavorful, the shrimp was big and juicy, the potatoes was moist and soaked up all the juice when I dipped it in the sauce. The people was nice and friendly and the lady that was running the place was very courteous and mindful plus the girls working there was dancing and making TikToks and letting them do it and having fun! Man I only got my food to go but it was hot and fresh before it was supposed to be ready and it was like 20 minutes before they closed too! I really like this place and highly recommend trying them out! The lady gave me a roll of napkins when I asked for multiple napkins too! They also provided gloves in the bag to eat with that I found at the last minute after eating and cleaning my hands cause it had so much sauce and flavor! I will be back to try them again! Im a New Englander where I say I've had tge best seafood. Love shrimp and calamari. Crafty reminded me of Stowes in West Haven, CT. The best seafood ever go there if your ever in the neighborhood. Now getting back to Crafty shrimp was up there with my favorite restaurant. The batter was delicious not salty. I normally hate horseradish to go with my shrimp they have made me change my mind. Please don't change anything its not broken. Next dish I will try is the calamari. Thank you Crafty you are one of the best seafood so far to remind me of Stowes. I went to crafty crab on New Year's Eve. I sat at the bar and the bar center who happened to be the manager as well was absolutely amazing. The music was so good which smashed the food which was even better. I thought I was going for just a boil bag and end up staying about three hours. Definitely will be returning! read more

We loved this place! The prices were comparable to other seafood places; about $14-$30 per person based on what you order. Fried dinners were cheaper than the seafood boils. The server was delightful and everything was prepared exactly as ordered. This place is great for families or for a date night. This place is the replacement for Joe's Crab Shack. This was our first time to try it. It was on a weekday, about 2 p.m. There were only two other tables occupied when we entered. We were promptly seated. It appeared they only had one server on duty, which wouldn't be a surprise. It took a while for the server to get to us, but she was busy with another table, so it's not like she was hiding in the kitchen or anything. We both had the tilapia plate. $14. Four tilapia filets. We both had the sweet potato fries as a side, and let me say, there were a lot of them! I should have had regular fries; the sweet potato fries were kind of soggy, not terribly, but enough to reduce their appeal. There was plenty of fish, and it was really hot when it arrived at the table. The tartar sauce served with the fish was tangy and tasty, and extra was brought without quibble. The food was good, but there was no pizzazz about it. But then, what can you do to jazz up fish? Joe's gave up here, although this was one of the stores that operated for quite a while after the parent company went bankrupt. There is another, similar restaurant across the highway that has a similar plate, so we may try that when we're in Cedar Hill again. read more

Visited here with my two grandkids on Friday afternoon, about 2:00 o'clock, to try a newish seafood place. The exterior needs some attention as the grass needs mowing and there was trash that needed collecting at the front door. There were few customers, maybe 5 tables, which is why we went at this time of day. The ambiance is a mix of corny nautical and sports bar - leftover from when this place was a Joe's Crab Shack that failed due to poor service. The usual bagged seafood restaurant. I'll be direct. The service was not good - I still tipped 18% but will not return. Despite the lack of other customers, we sat for at least 10 minutes before our server visited our table. Anything we needed - we had to wait for or stop the server to ask for it as she never checked to see if we needed anything. We ordered the crab cakes and calamari for appetizers. The crab cakes were actually very good. Didn't care for the calamari which was rubbery and had no tentacles, just the rounds from the body, but the granddaughter liked them. The server gave us the appetizers - but no individual plates to eat them on so we had to wait and ask for some. She brought some paper plates and plastic forks. We also ordered three meals and two fountain drinks. I drank water since they do not serve unsweetened tea. Grandson had a fried shrimp basket ($14.99) and a side of one crab legs ($16.00). Both the shrimp and the fries were well seasoned and tasted good. Granddaughter and I had a Dungeness Crab boil ($45.99) and a Combination boil ($41.00), respectively. Everything in each of the boils (with the exception of the potatoes) was overcooked. The sausage in my boil was practically flavorless. The sauce that you can have to flavor your boil or get on the side, in my opinion, is the least flavorful and the most greasy I've ever experienced. We had to stop the waitress to ask for the crab cracker tools. She said she would look and see if she could find any since people kept stealing them. She brought one set to the table which the 3 of us shared. I broke off two of the tines from two plastic forks so that we could pick our crabs properly. When I asked for to go boxes she actually did very well by bringing additional plastic bags so that the original bags wouldn't leak. Good on her for that. Overall and for the price, I don't recommend. Except for the crab cakes and the fried shrimp - nothing stood out except for the not very good service. read more

The lobster was overcooked and was like eating rubber. They don't give you any pliers or shrimp cutters to help you with all the shells. We finally asked for utensils, but I really feel we shouldn't have had to ask. The service was good. The waitress was cheerful and kind. But I will not eat there again. read more

I am so disappointed in the Crafty Crab. I've been going since they opened. They have definitely changed since then. The sauce is runny and lacks the flavor that it used to have and there is hardly any sauce in the bag. My shrimp was not cooked and the crab legs tasted old. I don't know what has happened. They have increased the prices by $6 on most items. I was told, that they had to charge more because more people were dining. When they first opened, the food was amazing especially the sauce. The sauce was so good that I used to order sauce to go and there was always enough sauce in the bag. I used to recommend this place to everyone. My friend and I visit here often as the food is really tasty! We typically have the same server who is truly wonderful. However when we came in tonight no one greeted us for 8 min and they even walked by us and went to the host stand and completely ignored us and almost hit our stroller with our newborn in it. Once we got seated at our table our waitress, Alexis. did not come by for another 6 min and when she did she was very short and talked to us like we were incompetent. We were lied to from a guy @ soul shack in Cedar Hill telling us that they had patio/pet accommodation, only to drive there from Arlington to find out there was no waiter for the patio. We found Crafty Crab, which has very professional, awesome fast service and the food was excellent. We had the snapper basket, chicken tender basket, oysters, hush puppies, calamari, Cole slaw and some good drinks from the bar. I will definitely recommend and will be back! The food was good. We ordered a boil. Everything was well seasoned. Corn was not fresh a little dissatisfying. Everything else was legit. We also ordered the steamed scallops. They were a bit small but very tasty. I will definitely be ordering this next time. Didn't try a cocktail as they were $11 and to me that's too much. The tea was good. I also tried the fried shrimp and sweet potato fries. Very nice, shrimp were larger than expected. My only complaints were server was pleasant but not attentive at all. There were only people at one other table so no excuse of being busy. She was sitting at an empty table near us. We had to call out to her or go find her for a refill of beverages, utensils and the check. But over all a pleasant experience. Food prices are reasonable. The lighting was cool. NOT REAL CATFISH!!!! This was my first and last time trying Crafty Crab. I ordered the catfish basket. Before I ordered, I asked if it was real catfish. The server told me that it was and to her knowledge it was. When I received my order, I broke the "catfish" in half and then I tasted it and realized it was not catfish. The guy sitting in the booth next to me came and asked me if this was catfish because he realized it wasn't catfish either. We both spoke with the server and asked if she could remove this from our ticket because it was false advertisement. The manager wouldn't even come out to address us. Horrible service by the manager. They only took $4.50 off my ticket. If it's not catfish, just say that, it's okay to tell the truth. read more

Visited today and although the food was good my experience wasn't the best . The hostess (Rosie) was very unorganized she told myself and several other guests that arrived after us the wait to 20 to 30 to 40 minutes all at once ,instead of just saying 30-40 minutes up front . They also need a system to help her keep track of who been seated and who hasn't because all she had was a pen and paper .which cause her to forget to seat someone because she hadn't written her name down . Then once seated she insinuated that we had taken another person's reservation by asking me directly after she had already taken us to the table "that wasn't your name was it " I was taken back . We were patient but when we saw a couple sit down way after us and order, we had to say something. Fortunately, a waitress that wasn't in the section at least placed our orders. During the entire time, no one check in on us and we were quite sure no one was serving our table. We asked 4 different people to get a crab crackers and some lemons and they all forgot? Multiple associates were standing at the front talking and looking at their phones. At 7:00, we got up and walked to the host stand to ask for a manager.
