I heard a lot of good things about this place. So I feel like I may need to come back on a less busy day. We came on a very busy Saturday evening, so the food took slightly longer than normal but service was excellent! Very accommodating for our vegetarian needs. I say this because even though it is a half vegetarian restaurant, he still asked if we had any allergies - which is really good because we do have a shellfish allergy in our household. Onto the food. We ordered crab Rangoon's, vegetable fried rice, and vegetable spring fresh rolls. The best crab Rangoons that I have had in years!!! They were actually made with real crab meat and for us to travel 20 minutes away I was able to come home and eat them whilst they were still crispy, which is awesome! The dipping sauce for them was also very tangy and fresh. The fried rice had an amazing taste and perfectly cooked fresh vegetables, however the rice was not as dry or crispy as we are used to. Not mushy, but it just didn't have that fried rice mouth feel - absolutely no flavor was lacking though! The spring rolls were good but parts of them had a more mushy texture than other parts. I'm not sure if it was because it was busy, but we will definitely try to come back for another try because the food had an amazing taste, It was just a couple of Textural tweaks. We've been to both Sunny Thai Arlington and Mansfield and while the drive isn't bad from where we live, Cedar Hill is better. A wealth of entrees that have something for everyone. We chose a fried shumai. We have never had shumai like that before and it is so worth it. The texture experience alone is justified. We cut the odd shumai in half to share, not wanting to deny the other a bite! I ordered the Thai Beef Salad. Crispy salad veggies with that wonderful dressing and tender beef. My husband had his favorite, green curry. It looked smooth and rich and dreamy. They offered us both a complimentary luncheon soup - a Tom Kha. We loved everything (except the steamed vegetables; those suckers are accurately named because they are flavored with steam and ONLY steam.... lol) With the exception of the flavorless veggies, I have zero complaints. I was so excited when I realized there was a t Thai spot near home. Only to be dismissed and treated like a liar when they put my health in jeopardy. Absolutely do not go here if you have a fish allergy. I asked if their crab rolls are made out of imitation crab and they said no. Now my throat is closing, my mouth itches, and my gums and lips are swollen. Full anaphylaxis all because they couldn't be honest. Then when I asked the guy again he said no...it's not real crab...and went back and said it is. Then the manager held onto her lie saying they have been there 7 years without a problem. Being able to eat shell fish and no other kinds of fish is very rare so it's hard for people to understand. Now I'm sick and they could care less. They need to take notes from Feng Shui in Dallas off od Olive. Their menu clearly states which dishes are imitation crab and which are not. They're staff is aptly educated on the difference and makes you feel comfortable honestly informing the customer. It's so sad that manager had no shame. Another group of ladies came in after us and ordered after us. We waited a good 35 minutes just for appetizers. There were only 2 other groups of people in there. Finally got the appetizers and the spring rolls were made with bag salad and I asked the waitress how many rolls come in the crab avocado roll and she said 4. We got our order and it was 2 rolls cut in 4 pieces. Wtf. Not to mention it tasted like tuna and not crab! Sat there for another 20 minutes and noticed the table that came after us got their food first. Waited 5 more minutes to see if ours was next and nope. So I politely went up to the front paid for the appetizers we ordered and left. There is no way there should have been that long of a wait with only a couple of other people in the restaurant. I came with a companion for lunch. It was a little peculiar there was not a lunch menu. Our waitress when we were seated was being friendly, but was a bit forgetful when we were ordering water. She messed up my tea order. She did get my companion's tea order correct. It was confusing because our first waitress would disappear for long periods and another waitress #2 would check in on us. Periodically I would have to flag down waitress #2. After our food was served we saw waitress #1 one last time then never again which was weird. The restaurant wasn't super busy. Our food was ok to tasty but it wasn't anything to write home about. They did give us a light tom yum complementary soup. I ordered the soft shell crab tempura (E8) with basil, onion, green & red peppers and jasmine rice in a tasty sauce. My companion had the crispy beef dish which I liked but it didn't blow me away. We both had Thai iced tea, one regular tea, two glasses of water, two entrees and the bill came to around the high $60s before the tip we left (which I hope made it to our waitress because the hostess who welcomed us picked up the check personally instead of either one of our waitresses.) The atmosphere is clean. Music is good and the air is nice. All and all, we wont be back. There are similar restaurants that do it better on all fronts in terms of service, menu prices, and more flavors that feel more like individually prepared dishes instead of a nicely prepared buffet dish, even though the dish presentation was nice. Also there are other similar modern and old school Thai restaurants that don't crush the pocketbooks. About $67 for a casual eatery lunch for two people seems excessive. read more

When we walked in were attended immediately, the place was clean, and friendly staff. I ordered a strawberry fruit tea with rainbow jelly and drunken noodles. The tea was really good. The size of the entree was a good amount for the price we paid, and it had a very good flavor. My partner asked for a recommendation and ended up ordering the Basil fried rice. I have been looking for a good Thai place in the Cedar Hill/ Duncanville/ Desoto area since I moved here five years ago. Let me tell you this is by far the best Thai I've had since living here. Hands-down five stars! Wonderful and friendly staff and relaxing ambience. Only downside is it makes me spend my money because the food is so good and I want to try everything. So far, I've tried the crab rangoons (different but good), fried pork, drunken noodles, fried rice, sticky rice, orange chicken, fresh salad roll, seafood panang curry and lemongrass chicken.
