I've passed by this place a few times and decided to try it out in hopes of getting something more authentic than Panda Express. I ordered the regular orange chicken entree that comes with fried rice, an egg roll, and an order of the cream cheese wontons. Sadly, I've had better orange chicken from the frozen food section. The orange chicken was fried up similar to some sweet and sour chicken dishes I've seen in the past, and it looked like someone just threw a ladle of sweet and sour sauce on top. I didn't even bother with the rice since it was hard, and tasted like it had been sitting for several days. The egg roll appeared to be freshly made, but had a very off putting after taste. Wall Chinese Cafe is deserving of 4 star for the food flavor but I had to take a star away due to their inflated cost and portions. I used to pay roughly $9-$10 for a decent meal now it's closer to $14 and the portions are smaller. My last order of pepper steak was missing steak too. I had mostly huge cuts of vegetables instead. Their dining area is still closed, as you can only order through drive thru. Do not expect them to be overly nice, the staff is just there to do their job. Compared to the Chinese buffet in Waxahachie, their food is better quality, it doesn't leave you feeling gross like you've had an unhealthy meal. We decided to try them again. I scored them down to a 2 this time. The product was really bad. Ordered wontons/rangoons, sesame chicken, and fried rice, just like last time. The sesame chicken was essentially sweet and sour chicken with some sesame sauce that looked to have been dashed on there with a salt shaker. It was very sloppy and didn't taste or look like sesame chicken at all. I wish I would have taken a picture of it, but I threw it away because the taste was worse than the looks. Too salty and rubbery. The Rangoons would have been better had they not been burnt on the tips. I had to take most of the top part off to even attempt to eat them. They actually tasted like the ones you can get seasonally from sams. Nothing special about this place for the line to have been backed up like it was. This place is not an authentic Chinese restaurant nor is it meant to be an authentic experience. The restaurant is a fast food americanized establishment. With that being said, as long as you go into it knowing what to expect it was ok. I had the sesame chicken and orange chicken. Sesame chicken was very sweet and gelatinous. Orange chicken had a very strong bell pepper flavor, was also very sweet and gelatinous. Once again though, knowing what to expect changes the experience. This place is terrible! I don't understand the positive reviews. I had the Cashew Chicken and if you like the taste of Lipton chicken soup and MSG in your food then this is the place. The other two people with me had Vegetable Fried Rice and Veggie Lo Mein. They say it was just sauce and vegetables with a heavy MSG taste. Passing through and stopped by for a quick dinner. It was a overall good experience. The food was hot and fresh I had shrimp fried rice and it was really good. My kids have lo mein and orange chicken and they liked both. The cashier was very friendly even though it has a drive through they still treated the dine in customers as if there was no drive through.
