As soon as I walked in, I had a feeling that this was going to be much better than I would expect for a strip mall restaurant. We ordered the pork pot stickers, lamb dry hotpot, and the karage ramen. The pot stickers were perfectly cooked, crispy on the bottom, good chew, and great flavor. The lamb dry hotpot was a kingly meal. The presentation was impressive and the exquisite variety of ingredients made this a meal to remember. The karage ramen was lackluster, I would wager their other ramen options are better. The atmosphere was pretty good and the service was excellent. Overall, if I lived in Waxahachie, I would be a regular here. read more

It served a wide variety of Asian dishes from Vietnamese to Japanese to Chinese to Thai, but I wager at its core it's Chinese. We started with the pork potstickers, and they were fantastic. It's hard to find places that cook the outside correctly with crisp on the bottom and chew on top, but Fun did it perfectly. My bf got the lamb dry hot pot, and it looked stellar. He got a lot of food for the money and really enjoyed it. I would recommend if you could handle spice. I tried the Chicken Karaage Ramen, and found it lacking. It tasted like eating pure grease, and though the Karaage was alright, it was weighed down heavily by the broth. The noodles were noticeably homemade, though. This restaurant is extremely noisy, largely due to the open kitchen window where you can watch fresh noodles being made. While it's interesting to see the constant pounding of the noodle with the table is overwhelmingly loud and made the entire dining experience uncomfortable. Our experience and food certainly deserved 5 stars here at what is a unique dining experience for Waxahachie. If you love Asian cuisine, especially Ramen, noodle dishes and Chinese cuisine, you will love Fun Noodle Bar. The Fried Bao appetizer was new to me and much like fried dumplings, the contrast in texture of soft and fried dough is wonderful and the pork and fried cabbage within was so good! (5 Bao for $8.65) I ordered ramen eventually. The menu is fantastic with so much that sounds so delicious! I decided on the Tan Tan Ramen. Mine looks redder in the photo because of the amount of Chile in it. The highlight was the hand pulled noodle, of course. Perfect chewiness and good flavor on its own. This was a big bowl of soup for the price and I took half of it home. ($15.25) My husband decided on a Chinese dish without asking what it was and although tasty, he was totally surprised. The Spicy Chicken is just that. Very Small pieces of battered and fried spicy chicken. A huge mound of it served with his choice of fried rice on the side ($14.75). Not a vegetable or a sauce in sight. I was so amused I guess I didn't get a photo. We took it home and repurposed it with stir fry vegetables and a sauce. Scrumptious! Our waiter was a delight. A very busy but generous man who helped me make decisions and ensured that our visit was so enjoyable. The artisan who was pulling noodles was so much fun to watch. I had only seen this on TV before. It's hard work! Fun Noodle has Lunch Specials Monday through Friday, 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM (Served with an egg roll, and steamed rice or fried rice) that I am looking forward to trying. Was visiting friends from CA and they wanted to try the new noodle spot. We came on a weekday and quickly got seated. Off the bat I was confused with the menu because they have everything ranging from Thai, Chinese, Japanese and Taiwanese. Wasn't sure how good it could be with so many different variations of Asian cuisine at one restaurant. Being optimistic, I ordered my normal tan tan men. When it came I noticed the hard boiled egg and knew I would be disappointed. The broth was salty and the noodles were overcooked. I've had better instant ramen for less. read more

This place needs to change their name to "Yum" Noodle Bar! The noodles are freshly made, you can watch them as they make them. Hubby and I both got the pan fried sliced noodles. Both dishes were delicious! Lots of flavor and you can tell them the amount of spice you would like. I got medium and it was just right. We also had the pork potstickers- again fresh and very tasty. If there is any one thing that I would change is that they would bring the entire tables entree orders out together instead of dish by dish but they haven't been that far apart so a very minor observation. It was't until I got up and told the hostess that we had not been helped that she came and took our order herself. Our crab rangoons came out quick and my mom's Broccoli Beef came out shortly after but I had to wait another 10 minutes for my noodles which were ready and sitting on the shelf just waiting for it to he delivered to our table. For the food, the crab rangoons were good, broccoli beef was alright, and the youpo noodles were meh. For the youpo noodles, the sauce was too acidic and the beef was way too salty. read more

We had a great experience visiting Fun Noodle Bar tonight. Our food was delicious! We had the Pork Spicy Miso Ramen, Roasted Chicken Noodle Soup, and Beef Pan Fried Sliced Noodle. Both ramen dishes were flavorful with fresh ingredients! The portions are large and could easily be shared with someone. The Pan Fried Noodles were recommended by our waiter and it was excellent! The thick noodles and sauce were perfect and we will definitely order again. Our service was great with Frank being attentive and recommending dishes! We had seen post on social media and decided to try it out. Looks like they have only been open for 16 days. Service was excellent. I literally put my napkin down on the table and when I reached for it. A server had already picked it up and I just grabbed a new one. Drinks were refilled without asking or signaling to anyone. The food is the real deal. Authentic, fresh and so so good. My family enjoys watching them make the hand pulled noodles in house. When trying an Asian restaurant for the first time. My default is always an entree with eggplant. That being said there is a technique to cooking eggplant and if a restaurant manages to do it right, I know without a doubt they are experience at what they do. OMG! What in the world is an authentic Chinese noodle house doing in a small podunk town? This place is legit. They make their noodle from scratch and you can watch them making it. My wife and I love Jeng Chi in Richardson, but this place beats those dumplings and food. My go to is chicken chow mein. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu, we've tried it all. I recently visited the new spot in Waxahachie (Fun Noodle Bar) and man what an experience, for one the service was good very friendly and polite customer service, second the food was good and fairly fast I had gone with my wife and son we ordered some of the - soup dumplings, pad Thai, General tso chicken & for my son a kids Chicken fried which he enjoyed. Overall my experience was good and my favorite cuisine is Asian cuisine so for me it's a solid 9.5/10 plus you get too see the kitchen which is always cool because you can LITERALLY see your food being made plus they are also making fresh hand pulled noodles which was also something cool to witness. *Also this place is not so big which I did notice so you may have a bit of a wait time if you do go so I suggest going when times may not be so busy but other than that it was an amazing spot to eat at*. read more

This is my third time coming here. First time I ordered the spicy kimchi beef soup - there was no beef it was strips of shaved fat! This time I ordered chicken with garlic sauce - I asked for light sauce and my food is completely drenched in oil and sauce! It was supposed to be spicy and the sauce was kind of sweet - it was terrible!! I didn't even eat my dish. The waiter didn't even bother to ask what was wrong or even seem to notice.
