Tan Tan Ramen - pork broth, diced pork, scallion, onion, egg, fish cake, kikurage mushrooms, medium spicy $15.25
Laura C.

Our experience and food certainly deserved 5 stars here at what is a unique dining experience for Waxahachie. If you love Asian cuisine, especially Ramen, noodle dishes and Chinese cuisine, you will love Fun Noodle Bar. The Fried Bao appetizer was new to me and much like fried dumplings, the contrast in texture of soft and fried dough is wonderful and the pork and fried cabbage within was so good! (5 Bao for $8.65) I ordered ramen eventually. The menu is fantastic with so much that sounds so delicious! I decided on the Tan Tan Ramen. Mine looks redder in the photo because of the amount of Chile in it. The highlight was the hand pulled noodle, of course. Perfect chewiness and good flavor on its own. This was a big bowl of soup for the price and I took half of it home. ($15.25) My husband decided on a Chinese dish without asking what it was and although tasty, he was totally surprised. The Spicy Chicken is just that. Very Small pieces of battered and fried spicy chicken. A huge mound of it served with his choice of fried rice on the side ($14.75). Not a vegetable or a sauce in sight. I was so amused I guess I didn't get a photo. We took it home and repurposed it with stir fry vegetables and a sauce. Scrumptious! Our waiter was a delight. A very busy but generous man who helped me make decisions and ensured that our visit was so enjoyable. The artisan who was pulling noodles was so much fun to watch. I had only seen this on TV before. It's hard work! Fun Noodle has Lunch Specials Monday through Friday, 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM (Served with an egg roll, and steamed rice or fried rice) that I am looking forward to trying. There's plenty of parking outside and comfortable seating inside. We'll be back soon!

Pan fried sliced noodles with veggies and tofu. Delicious!

This place needs to change their name to "Yum" Noodle Bar! The noodles are freshly made, you can watch them as they make them. Hubby and I both got the pan fried sliced noodles. Both dishes were delicious! Lots of flavor and you can tell them the amount of spice you would like. I got medium and it was just right. We also had the pork potstickers- again fresh and very tasty. Place is clean with good customer service. We will definitely be back to try more of their yummy dishes.

Amazing food and a super friendly staff. Went on a Friday afternoon and it was great. Highly recommend and can't wait to try different dishes.

Service was not great. After being sat we waited for 15 minutes and no server had come to our table yet. It was't until I got up and told the hostess that we had not been helped that she came and took our order herself. Our crab rangoons came out quick and my mom's Broccoli Beef came out shortly after but I had to wait another 10 minutes for my noodles which were ready and sitting on the shelf just waiting for it to he delivered to our table. For the food, the crab rangoons were good, broccoli beef was alright, and the youpo noodles were meh. For the youpo noodles, the sauce was too acidic and the beef was way too salty.

We were served promptly and the staff was very kind and accommodating to my peanut allergy. They also were very patient explaining the menu. The Garlic chicken and general tsos chicken were both flavored exceptionally. I wish the garlic chicken dish had more vegetables. The rice was nice and cooked thoroughly. The bao buns were flavorful but light, pork had nice seasoning. The ambiance is nice with very pretty decorations and pictures of food. The seating was nicely spaced.

Handmade noodles incoming!

Super fast and friendly service. Hand made noodles, awesome soup dumplings. We had two great spins on "old classics". Had the General Tso's Chicken, and the Sesame Chicken. Food was fresh, hot and properly cooked. Prices were reasonable. A bright spot in Asian food, in a town that sorely needed it. A+.

Food was fresh and really good! Service was good! My husband and daughter loved the kimchi soup!

A15. Soup Dumplings (5pc) ! Suuuper good & super soupy! Not dry at all and really flavorful.

Super awesome experience!! Staff were super attentive & nice. Food was authentic, delicious & just overall legit! If you don't wanna drive far & out for some real hand-pulled noodles, this is the place to go. They're bouncy, have a good texture & they make them in house for you to watch too! Inside is nice, not too small & about just right! Will definitely be coming back, the food, service & overall experience was awesome.

Our receipt with what we ordered.

We had a great experience visiting Fun Noodle Bar tonight. Our food was delicious! We had the Pork Spicy Miso Ramen, Roasted Chicken Noodle Soup, and Beef Pan Fried Sliced Noodle. Both ramen dishes were flavorful with fresh ingredients! The portions are large and could easily be shared with someone. The Pan Fried Noodles were recommended by our waiter and it was excellent! The thick noodles and sauce were perfect and we will definitely order again. Our service was great with Frank being attentive and recommending dishes! And the ambience was fun, but quiet in the best of ways. You could have a conversation without feeling like you had to whisper or shout. ;) This is family friendly!

Food and service were amazing. We found the place by accident one day and came back to eat the first chance we could

Been here twice. Friday night dinner and Monday lunch. Both times the food was incredible. I did not expect such fresh, well seasoned and terrifically cooked food. Forget the Chinese Buffet down the road. Hit this Japanese Restaurant up for now on when craving Freshly Homemade Noodles, Chicken & Broccoli, Orange Chicken, etc.....

Instead, one came sickeningly sweet with an unlisted cinnamon syrup, and the other still had a strong cinnamon taste. When we questioned this, the server casually mentioned the cinnamon syrup--something not disclosed on the menu. I had to specifically ask her to take one back rather than her responding promptly. Next, they brought our sushi rolls, but no plates, no soy sauce, and not even dishes for dipping. We had to ask for all those basics. I specifically chose two rolls without cream cheese--because I don't want cream cheese in my sushi--and yet one still had it. The server's response was to chat with a manager but not to offer any solution, compensation, or correction. Overall, if a menu lists certain ingredients, that's what should arrive. Adding things like cinnamon in a drink or cream cheese in a roll--especially when people might have dietary needs--is careless. They need to be more attentive to both the menu and the customer's feedback.

The space feels intimate and welcoming, the kind of spot where the steam from the bowls fogs up the windows and time slows down just enough to enjoy your meal. The ramen is where Kintaro really shines. The broth is deeply flavored and comforting, rich without feeling heavy, and clearly simmered with care. Every sip feels intentional. The noodles have that perfect bite, springy and substantial, soaking up the broth without going soft. Toppings are generous and well balanced, especially the pork, which is tender and savory and melts into the broth in the best way. What really sells the experience is how everything works together. The warmth of the space, the aroma of the kitchen, and the layered flavors in the bowl create something that feels less like a quick meal and more like a small ritual. It's the kind of place you want to linger, finishing the last drops of broth even when you're already full. Kintaro isn't flashy or overhyped. It's just solid, soulful ramen served in a space that feels like a refuge. If you're craving something comforting and satisfying, this is absolutely the spot.

It wasn't too packed when I went, almost on the slower side for lunch, which honestly made the experience feel very relaxed. Not a problem since we enjoyed sitting on the patio and enjoying our drinks. The bartenders were great, fast and very friendly. I appreciate that before pouring my wine, the one bartender put in a lot of effort to buffing my glass. I ordered a plum wine to start, which is always delicious and sweet. We were seated a little earlier than 20 minutes, but unfortunately weren't greeted for a bit following that. They were super busy though. Our waiter was very nice and knowledgeable, and we stuck with splitting apps versus getting ramen. We ordered the shishito peppers, karaage, takoyaki, and edamame. To drink, we ordered and split the hot sake. The first plates came out pretty quickly, and were hot and delicious. Our hot sake took a while to be delivered, and we had to ask our waiter to double check it was still on the way. Then when it arrived, we had to fight off a bunch of gnats that kept landing on the bottle. I guess they wanted to party, too! The shishito peppers were definitely my favorite. They were perfectly coated in sauce and flavoring. The karaage was tender and tastes especially good when paired with the watermelon. takoyaki was served hot and it's a blast watching the Bonita flakes dance on the balls. The edamame, while good, needed to be stirred up because the salt distribution was heavy on certain pieces. We wished we could order dessert, but felt a bit rushed by the server. It was a little before 10pm, so we understand they're off at 11pm, but as a former server there's definitely better ways to keep up with the closing process that feels less intrusive to the patrons. Overall, we had a blast at Wabi house and the food was great. Maybe we went on an off night for service, but overall will definitely be back again!!
