Ramen with a fly, I guess the extra protein is free. Drove back for a refund and was only partially refunded.

Felt like sushi tonight and thought we'd try a new place but it turns out they renamed Avocado California Roll & Sushi, still named on one menu. Maybe different owners? Not sure. Definitely a GREAT deal for your dollar but the ambiance lacks and feels 'meh'. We chose the 2 for $30 special which includes 2 appetizers, 2 rolls, and miso soup (up to $14 for EACH roll). You just can't beat that! We also took advantage of the FREE sake special with a $12.99 purchase...chaching! We ordered fried gyoza, edamame, Rose Garden Roll #29 (YUMMY!) and a Cucumber-wrapped roll (FRESH) and selected Raspberry sake, which tasted like Robitussin to me (but I'm not much into alcohol) my daughter thought it tasted fine. I ordered a dragon roll as well, which is one of my favorite things to order at any sushi restaurant. It was average. The items served had a Great presentation put the tables are really sticky feeling. The service was okay.. the young waitresses all had headphones around their necks and sometimes over their ears as they cleaned tables. Didn't feel very attentive or communicative. All in all, I would go back for the VALUE! Love the sushi boats!

Food was amazing, we had spicy tuna roll, fried rice and noodles with beef. All was under 40$! Service was good we will be back,

This is a very nice sushi restaurant next to Razoos in Cedar Hill. The service is always great. I've never had a bad server at Moon Sushi. My family ordered several appetizers and entrees because it's Labor Day and we ordered a meal to dine in and a second meal to go for dinner later. Appetizers: shrimp tempura is very good. We enjoyed the fried calamari and the steamed gyoza was yummy. Do not order the Thai Spring Roll. Worse ever. It was 90% celery wrapped in rice paper. All three of us agreed. The Spring Rolls are awful. Dinner: You cannot go wrong with the sushi at Moon Sushi. I love that they have pictures of all of their sushi offerings in addition to comprehensive descriptions of each roll's ingredients. No brainer and delicious. My favorite is the double shrimp roll, but they have it all. Fried rice: This is not a Chinese restaurant. I ordered the combination House fried rice. Worse fried rice that I've ever had. I'm African American and a friend in college taught me to make Chinese fried rice. Mine is better than the offerings of fried rice at Moon Sushi. Bulgogi with rice was delicious. My son loved the Chicken Teriyaki. Our experience was very good. I would strongly recommend Moon Sushi and Ramen. B&N Sushi in Cedar Hill has closed. Give this restaurant your business. We have been several times and we will go back.

Best sushi for the best price! Came with my family on a Saturday afternoon and was immediately showed a booth to seat. Miso soup is free for dine in customers. My husband and I ordered the lunch special roll bento! Which is the price of any roll and included edamame, salad and gyoza . I tailored my roll to what I wanted with no problems! We will be back, everything was delicious! Service was fast and polite!

This has actually become our go to sushi place since it opened a couple of months ago. We usually get the dumplings as our appetizer, they're very good. Then we get a fried rice as it's a big serving and we order some sushi. I like how they always bring it out on the boat no matter what you get. It looks really cool inside a nice fountain when you walk in and lots of room. Service is definitely a bit slow but not rude. I'm already ready to go back.

This place didn't pass that test and it may be the only time in history where it proved me so wrong. When we were served the karage chicken with what appeared to be plain mayo I was seriously doubting my choice. It all changed when the ramen came out. This place is legit. They took the time to master their craft and they pay respect to what a proper bowl of ramen is. We both went for the spicy black garlic tonkatsu with differing spice levels; mild and reaper (+$1). Let's start with that -- typically all you pay for is a glob of chill oil that may or may not be spicy. This was not the case here, it added serious heat without altering the flavor. The black garlic was not burnt. The ramen had depth and umami, but could have been a but more seasoned. Eggs were cooked well and still jammy. If im ever in the area i'd be back.

I had the straight noodles instead of the curly/thicker noodles and honestly if I even come back to this restaurant I'll have to try the curly since I don't think Kintaro does their straight noodles well. Too soft and too "spaghetti" like. Hands down, the only place that does the straight noodles right is Jinya Ramen. But even so, I wasn't too fond of the broth or texture of the chashu here. Overall, the atmosphere is great. You have the option to self-order and the portions are large. Staff was friendly and nonetheless my friend and I had a great time. But unless I'm coming back here with someone who wants to eat here, I don't see myself actively choosing to be back at this spot over other ramen places anytime soon.

That was 3 years ago though, and as of recent I came back to this place after a friend suggested we could give it another shot. I must say, while expectations are low, I was far more impressed than I thought. This place is a bit bigger than neighboring ramen spots, and our server was so interactive, funny and friendly. I like that she actually holds a conversation between me and my friend, in terms of sake recommendations, and being honest on what type of noodles she prefers (I asked her if their straight noodles are good or if I should go for the curly, and she gave me her honest opinion on both, so I went for curly.) She was able to also assist my friend in choosing a better appetizer. I love the bigger variety of drink options, from alcohol to boba milk teas. The curly noodles in the Tonkotsu Ramen was awesome, and the meat's so soft and delicious. My only qualm is that the broth to noodles ratio is a little off; too much broth and it's more watery than other broths I've tasted. Nonetheless, my experience back here went well, and I can definitely see myself coming back here with friends.

My friend loved her ramen and my favorite item was the gyoza. Vegetarian gyoza is hard to come by and I was thankful they made it. We were pleasantly surprised that Royal Tea would serve us in the Ramen restaurant. We were able to have some delicious drinks with our meal! I wasn't a fan of the red bean fish, but my friend loved them and ate both! We loved the atmosphere and design of the restaurant. We thought the vibe was very bright and lively. Our servers were both great and super helpful. We enjoyed our time greatly.

The staff were friendly and always had a smile. I ordered the Shoyu Ramen with soy broth, pork belly, scallions, bamboo, diced onions, and an egg. The broth was the star for me. It had this deep, savory flavor with a little sweetness underneath, almost like the soy had been cooked down into something richer. Warm, comforting, and full of umami without tasting too salty. Every sip had that roasted, almost earthy depth that made me want to keep drinking it. The pork belly was ridiculously tender. Soft, juicy, and rich, with just enough fat to make it melt in my mouth. The egg was creamy and silky in the middle, and the bamboo and onions added some crunch and freshness to break everything up. Simple, warm, and really satisfying. This was exactly what I wanted from a bowl of ramen.

Instead, one came sickeningly sweet with an unlisted cinnamon syrup, and the other still had a strong cinnamon taste. When we questioned this, the server casually mentioned the cinnamon syrup--something not disclosed on the menu. I had to specifically ask her to take one back rather than her responding promptly. Next, they brought our sushi rolls, but no plates, no soy sauce, and not even dishes for dipping. We had to ask for all those basics. I specifically chose two rolls without cream cheese--because I don't want cream cheese in my sushi--and yet one still had it. The server's response was to chat with a manager but not to offer any solution, compensation, or correction. Overall, if a menu lists certain ingredients, that's what should arrive. Adding things like cinnamon in a drink or cream cheese in a roll--especially when people might have dietary needs--is careless. They need to be more attentive to both the menu and the customer's feedback.
