We ordered some items from Rice Pot to deliver to our hotel room. The delivery was prompt and efficient and the food was delicious and everything was bite size. I ordered the Kung Pao Beef and my husband ordered the Hunan Chicken. Both were very good and fresh but I should have asked for very spicy instead of medium spicy. Two very crispy eggrolls accompanied the dishes. The fried rice was so good and was excellent leftover warmed up and mixed with the beef dish and a handful of roasted peanuts, YUM!!! We love to order in when we arrive at a hotel so we can just enjoy each other's company and relax. Especially when I have a site visit the next day and we have to hit the ground running in the mornings. The food was very reasonably priced. I highly recommend for takeout. This place needs to be more nice with their customers who call in to go orders over the phone, they need to work on their customer service and be nicer to customer's , and another thing, not tipping for to go orders shouldn't result in less meat on a dinner entree! Especially when you are picking up your own order! No one should get pissed off over not getting a tip from a customer who's picking up their own food and plus people tip when they dine in! Not when they are picking up. Customers give you an ugly look over not giving a tip, when you sign the copy of the receipt and give it back to them. The fried rice had no veggies (no carrots or peas) and a scrap of egg. I know eggs are expensive but for 2 boxes of fried rice I saw 2 pieces of egg. I was there Friday and they left out my rice, I didn't get an apology or explanation. I was just told I should drive back up there to get it. Stopped by and got the sesame chicken from the lunch special (there were two items listed, this and the fried rice) and crossed my fingers as I'm still searching for great Chinese food in the metroplex. The service was great, I was greeted and asked if I had been there before. I explained no but I knew what I wanted. He let me know that everything is cooked fresh, that's always a plus. They have indoor and outdoor seating so you have options if you decide to eat it. Got my food and the portion size for lunch was great, came with an unexpected egg roll. I usually get the Sweet & Sour Chicken with rice when I go here, but this time I decided to get the Combination Lo Mein (Shrimp, Steak, and Chicken). It may not look that fancy, but don't be fooled... it's seasoned so good. Rice Pot's Lo Mein is my favorite because it's not too soupy nor to dry. What makes this place even better is that the atmosphere is quiet and chill, it's not usually that busy. Being welcomed by the cashier with super funny social media joke!!! So cool! My family wanted sweet and sour chicken. I had an overwhelming desire for spicy fried rice with broccoli and hubby loves walnut shrimp. I was thinking Kung pao with crispy tofu..... We ordered from this place because they delivered via a service. $3 fee. Fair. Hence the one star. Warning THIS IS NOT REAL CHINESE FOOD! It's not even American Chinese food. It was totally awful! We tried the wonton soup. It was darker and served with NO crispy noodles.. not much taste. Appetizers we ordered crab Rangoon (4 pieces) and was hard as a rock. Hard to screw up but seemed like they deep fried it one too many times. Also ordered chicken dumplings! The worst ever. No taste! On to the entrees! One was the Shrimp fried rice. Meh. Again little to no taste. The shrimp in fairness were not salad shrimp size. Next we ordered the Hunan beef that came with about 4 oz of white rice. Just awful. Cut up large pieces of vegetables with some pieces of beef with little taste. Finally the shrimp lo mein which was the best of the three. Previous reviews mentioned that the portions were huge. These portions were BY NO MEANS HUGE! In what appeared to be 8 Oz to go containers. As for the price, it was $64 + including tip and delivery charge. This is a great spot for to-go orders! Their food is absolutely delicious and the portions are generous! I ordered their hot and soup soup which was the perfect texture and loaded with goodies. Bold on the flavor too! Also took away some of their sesame chicken which was breaded perfectly, not overdone like I've found at other Chinese-American restaurants... They didn't have an option for General Tso's which is what I REALLY wanted but with a little chili oil I was able to doctor it up at home Also got the pepper beef which was tender and savory. Second time picking up Rice Pot and very pleased with the two dinner plates I've tried. Hunan chicken was good. It has cabbage which is different from what I'm used to but it was good! The fried dumpling appetizer was very delicious and at a great price point. I love the rice is put in a paper pail. Mongolian beef only comes with onions but ordering online gives you the option to add veggies. I placed my order online and both times it's ready within ten minutes. I ran two errands before arriving home and the food was still hot after about 35 minutes. read more

I had been driving past this place for the past year, and decided the time to try it would be now. During a pandemic, hahaha. I was pleased to see the staff and cooks in the back wearing masks and gloves as the food was prepared and packaged. The food: I was excited to try it, but it was lack luster to me. My Honey Sesame chicken had too much thick sauce on it, and I expected it to be a bit sweeter than it was, hence the word 'honey'. The fried rice was average. The combo Low mein was decent. There's hardly any room to eat inside anymore. The last 2 times I've been (pick up orders) the drink machine has been broken and it doesn't seem like they care to fix it.
