I had not been to this location in a few years and wanted to try them again. My last several visits have all been positive and with excellent customer service. The food is always freshly made and packed neatly, and you can't beat the value of the quality of food and the price. read more

The food was pretty decent. I got the sesame chicken with fried rice. Basic fried rice but it tasted good and fresh. The service was polite. The usual Chinese takeout style. Came out quickly, 10 mins less which is good for a Saturday night. read more

Rice Pot - Sesame chicken - Chinese Near Me - Duncanville, Texas

We ordered some items from Rice Pot to deliver to our hotel room. The delivery was prompt and efficient and the food was delicious and everything was bite size. I ordered the Kung Pao Beef and my husband ordered the Hunan Chicken. Both were very good and fresh but I should have asked for very spicy instead of medium spicy. Two very crispy eggrolls accompanied the dishes. The fried rice was so good and was excellent leftover warmed up and mixed with the beef dish and a handful of roasted peanuts, YUM!!! We love to order in when we arrive at a hotel so we can just enjoy each other's company and relax. Especially when I have a site visit the next day and we have to hit the ground running in the mornings. The food was very reasonably priced. I highly recommend for takeout. I would definitely order again if I were in the area. read more

Use to love this place but the taste of the food has changed. I order the same items chicken lo mein, beef lo mein, and sometimes the beef magolian. Lately, just hasn't been as good as I remember it, not sure if they changed cook or the quality of food. Will have to give it a break for now. read more

This place needs to be more nice with their customers who call in to go orders over the phone, they need to work on their customer service and be nicer to customer's , and another thing, not tipping for to go orders shouldn't result in less meat on a dinner entree! Especially when you are picking up your own order! No one should get pissed off over not getting a tip from a customer who's picking up their own food and plus people tip when they dine in! Not when they are picking up. Customers give you an ugly look over not giving a tip, when you sign the copy of the receipt and give it back to them. Smh train your staff to be respectful, polite and professional read more

2.5 Star rating. Came for takeout on a Saturday evening, food came out fast. Pricey. Orange chicken and pepper steak with fried rice dinner entrees, $30. The fried rice had no veggies (no carrots or peas) and a scrap of egg. I know eggs are expensive but for 2 boxes of fried rice I saw 2 pieces of egg. The flavor of the food itself was just ok; I won't be returning; so hard to find good Chinese food in this area. read more

Food was hot and fresh. The meats had good portions and very flavorful!! The dumplings were my favorite!

I went back up to this place today to give them another chance. Perhaps because I don't look like them, the staff thinks I am not important. I was there Friday and they left out my rice, I didn't get an apology or explanation. I was just told I should drive back up there to get it. The food wasn't good to me today, so there is no reason for me to return to this place. I give Rice Pot a 3 out of 10. Disappointed again in Duncanville Texas. read more

Stopped by and got the sesame chicken from the lunch special (there were two items listed, this and the fried rice) and crossed my fingers as I'm still searching for great Chinese food in the metroplex. The service was great, I was greeted and asked if I had been there before. I explained no but I knew what I wanted. He let me know that everything is cooked fresh, that's always a plus. They have indoor and outdoor seating so you have options if you decide to eat it. Got my food and the portion size for lunch was great, came with an unexpected egg roll. The food was okay, the egg roll was "meh" however I'm still searching but if I just wanted to Chinese food I'd come back. read more

Food was amazingly delicious. I had been looking for a good Chinese restaurant because a lot of their reviews were awful. In search of Chinese food this day landed me here. Happy landing! Service was super. I called ahead for take out. The food was ready when I arrived. Being welcomed by the cashier with super funny social media joke!!! So cool! My family wanted sweet and sour chicken. I had an overwhelming desire for spicy fried rice with broccoli and hubby loves walnut shrimp. I was thinking Kung pao with crispy tofu..... Did not get all that but I could not leave without spicy fried rice, yummmmm! Will order this again and again. Great food! Great service. Great location. Leave out and go next door for great coffee. Just saying. read more

I usually get the Sweet & Sour Chicken with rice when I go here, but this time I decided to get the Combination Lo Mein (Shrimp, Steak, and Chicken). It may not look that fancy, but don't be fooled... it's seasoned so good. Rice Pot's Lo Mein is my favorite because it's not too soupy nor to dry. What makes this place even better is that the atmosphere is quiet and chill, it's not usually that busy. Most importantly though, the service is friendly and quick, and it's located in a nice area. read more

I haven't eaten here in years, but it's a little chilly and perfect for egg drop soup. I didn't know it was possible to mess up egg drop soup. First of all it was red(insert confused face). 2nd tasted absolutely nothing like egg drop soup. 3rd it was super thick. I also got a spring roll. It was cold; had to have been cooked hours ago. I warmed it up, and it was edible. Even the crunchy wontons were stale and gross. read more

We ordered from this place because they delivered via a service. $3 fee. Fair. Hence the one star. Warning THIS IS NOT REAL CHINESE FOOD! It's not even American Chinese food. It was totally awful! We tried the wonton soup. It was darker and served with NO crispy noodles.. not much taste. Appetizers we ordered crab Rangoon (4 pieces) and was hard as a rock. Hard to screw up but seemed like they deep fried it one too many times. Also ordered chicken dumplings! The worst ever. No taste! On to the entrees! One was the Shrimp fried rice. Meh. Again little to no taste. The shrimp in fairness were not salad shrimp size. Next we ordered the Hunan beef that came with about 4 oz of white rice. Just awful. Cut up large pieces of vegetables with some pieces of beef with little taste. Finally the shrimp lo mein which was the best of the three. Previous reviews mentioned that the portions were huge. These portions were BY NO MEANS HUGE! In what appeared to be 8 Oz to go containers. As for the price, it was $64 + including tip and delivery charge. Soooo if you live around here this IS NOT A good rendition of any kind of Chinese food I know! Save your Chinese craving and save your money and time and walk on by. read more

I eat at the Rice Pot in Duncanville about once or twice a month. Been going here since 2017 or so. Today I ordered my food and waited a while after I got home to open it. This IS THE WORST I HAVE EVER HAD. There is no seasoning on the food. I ordered Lo Mein and Hunan Chicken & Shrimp. The Vegetables in the food are HUGE... they are cut so big that I have to cut it up before I can eat it. I am so disappointed read more

The food was really good and piping hot. The menu was a little confusing. The fountain drink machine was out of order and the inside was actually kind of small with limited seating space most people that entered were ordering takeout. The area surrounding, was really nice with string lights. read more

This is a great spot for to-go orders! Their food is absolutely delicious and the portions are generous! I ordered their hot and soup soup which was the perfect texture and loaded with goodies. Bold on the flavor too! Also took away some of their sesame chicken which was breaded perfectly, not overdone like I've found at other Chinese-American restaurants... They didn't have an option for General Tso's which is what I REALLY wanted but with a little chili oil I was able to doctor it up at home Also got the pepper beef which was tender and savory. Will definitely be back soon! read more

Second time picking up Rice Pot and very pleased with the two dinner plates I've tried. Hunan chicken was good. It has cabbage which is different from what I'm used to but it was good! The fried dumpling appetizer was very delicious and at a great price point. I love the rice is put in a paper pail. Mongolian beef only comes with onions but ordering online gives you the option to add veggies. I placed my order online and both times it's ready within ten minutes. I ran two errands before arriving home and the food was still hot after about 35 minutes. read more

I had been driving past this place for the past year, and decided the time to try it would be now. During a pandemic, hahaha. I was pleased to see the staff and cooks in the back wearing masks and gloves as the food was prepared and packaged. The food: I was excited to try it, but it was lack luster to me. My Honey Sesame chicken had too much thick sauce on it, and I expected it to be a bit sweeter than it was, hence the word 'honey'. The fried rice was average. The combo Low mein was decent. I did like the Chicken fried rice, it had vegetables and onions in it. There wasn't anything I tried that would warrant a return visit from me unfortunately. Just my opinion read more

Editing my review from 7 years ago! This place has really taken a nose dive ever since they divided the restaurant up between Roma's and the Coffee Shop next door. There's hardly any room to eat inside anymore. The last 2 times I've been (pick up orders) the drink machine has been broken and it doesn't seem like they care to fix it. The food is still decent which is just about this places only saving grace now. Service is so-so. read more

Ok, not great. Skimpy portions for the price. I've been here twice and the service was not very good either time. The food is ok, but kind of bland. There is no indoor seating currently. So if you want to eat there you'll have to sit outside near a busy/noisy street. read more

Obsessed with their magnolian beef. Only Thing is be prepared to have a ton of onion. The sauce is great though. Dumplings are awesome. Fried rice is delish read more

Enjoy this on my visit to Duncanville. Good food, good service, quick take out when ordering in person.

normally I go out of my way for these guys.. tonight wasn't as good as other visits.. specially the mixed lo mein was way too salty and the shrimp was overcooked and dry- id still go back but this is the 2nd time the lo mein wasn't great read more
