We really enjoyed Asiaway in the Desoto Kroger Marketplace Shopping Center. We rarely exit on Pleasant Run west or even even look at what's in the shopping center these days, to be honest. Sadly, that oversight cost us an introduction to a very good restaurant! Their menu is terrific and there is so much to choose from. As you would expect, the list includes such, sashimi, sushi rolls, bowls, bento boxes, Ramen and other noodles, Hibachi, Fried rice, AND much more. I will have to refer you to their online menu. We dined in but saw a stream of folks coming and going getting to go orders. We started with by choosing one from list of many rolls - the Shrimp Tempura Dragon Roll with Eel, Eel sauce and Avocado. There was a lot of this delicious roll for $14.50. My create your own Poke soon followed. I went with Ahi Tuna, Spicy Tuna, Masago, white rice as a base, Eel sauce, yuzu, tamari, avocado and then nori, Pickled ginger, and lots sprinkles and pieces of other unlimited choices. The poke bowl was more than enough to eat at $15 and I took around 1/3 of it home. All of the ingredients were fresh and tasty. I loved the dish they served me. My husband had the Hibachi Chicken and Fried Rice. (an addl. $3). The portion was enormous. He said his chicken was flavorful and tender. Our server was very knowledgeable and helpful when it came to ordering. There is so much to choose from. The restaurant is small but adequate and there is plenty of parking in the shopping center. read more

Yum! Stopped by Asiaway for takeout while visiting family nearby. I picked up some dumplings and the house special noodle dish--basically a classic lo mein with shrimp, chicken, and beef. It came with a side of spicy mayo that I'm pretty sure is homemade (and so good, I wish they sold it on its own!). The portions were generous--I got two meals out of it--and the dumplings were tasty, too. Definitely looking forward to coming back! read more

Our second visit, while not as good as the first, was still ok. My husband had the hibachi shrimp which had a very nice taste to them. I on the other hand had the hibachi NY strip. I ordered it med rare but it was overcooked and it tasted bland. They did offer to remake it but I just wanted to go home. They also applied a discount and tried to make it right so we will probably come back and give them another try, in the future. read more

this time I ordered it for pick up, and obviously paid more since it was through uber. The serving size was significantly smaller than normal to the point where it was almost half what I got last time I was there. The bowl wasn't even close to the halfway line either. I'm not going to spend money here anymore because an $18 poke bowl shouldn't be finished in a couple of bites. read more

Great to find a real sushi place south of 20 in Dallas. Rolls were great! Service was a little slow but it was Friday night and they only had one waitress so it was understandable. Quality! Let me start by saying I had never been here, family wanted asian food, wound up here to try it. They have a special, before 4Pm you can get any three rolls for $17 which is a nice deal. Rolls were great, good amount of filling ingredients, you get wasabi and a good amount of ginger with it which i like. The main courses were their hibachi meals, we had a beef a shrimp and a chicken all with fried rice(minor upcharge-but worth it). Tired of ordering fried rice and getting served rice that has had just soy sauce added spun in a wok and they call it fried? Well not here, we tried the rice first by itself, and that was the barometer that I knew i went to the right spot. Fried rice had peas/carrots/onions and yep egg. You know this is real fried rice when its got the egg in it, and it was not oily like some places make the mistake of too much oil. The main entrees again bring to mind the word quality. The beef had no fat or gristle, just big hearty chunks of steak(lots of flavor, probably sirloin) the chicken was all breast meat and again big hearty chunks of chicken. The shrimp was fantastic! This is not the frozen tasteless mushy stuff you get from lower quality establishments, these are tail on, deveined and these taste like shrimp you get down on the coast. And did i mention these are big shrimp, not tiny popcorn variety lesser places use. all vegetables were perfectly cooked, tender but crisp, you get big pieces of carrot, broccoli, onion and nice chunks of zucchini that are peeled and looks like they may grill it before it hits the wok, all of this is in a great brown sauce that is very flavorful. You can tell this place takes pride in their in their food and its preparation. This was all ordered take out, so did not see bathrooms, but the front area is clean, so i would bet the rest of the restaurant is clean as well. Got the 2 rolls special, california & shrimp tempura. avocado was old, rice tasted stale, the shrimp tasted like it'd been reheated twice, the seaweed wrap was gummy, & the california roll was absolutely flavorless. so disappointed but i guess you get what you pay for since the special is $11. read more

Great fried rice the house special. Clean, took approximately 10 minutes was fresh. Customer service was on point.

They make your order as you want it! It took 20 minutes to make my order of Poke bowl with salmon and yellowtail, spider roll, chicken egg rolls and house fried rice. The poke bowl was good however the knife cuts on the fish were uneven. It was if the salmon had been chewed on by a cat and then arranged in my bowl. The yellowtail was cut haphazardly in a very chunky manner. It could have been chopped smaller. The bowl was tasty in the ingredients I chose. I should have not added the pineapple. The egg rolls were flavorless. They were dry tasting. The house rice looked good. The spider roll appeared to be messy in its making no clean knife cuts. I can't comment on the taste but my daughter stated it was delicious! I'll give this place a second look in the future. If you are looking for an Asian restaurant (Japanese) to enjoy eating with your eyes closed then give them a try. The food tasted fresh, the place was clean and there was a large screen on the wall.
