Came here the day before Christmas Eve for dinner, and it was pretty packed. My first impression with crowded restaurants is that it's usually good -- people WANT to be eating there. I spent the entire day at the hospital without a true meal. To have a nice warm and hearty Thai meal was my version of heaven on earth. The ambiance was relaxed and warm. Memorable orders were the larb, the medium spicy shrimp Tom yum soup, and the chicken skewers. There were lots of other foods that we ordered but when you're feasting with a hungry family of 9 at the table, you're playing a game of "you snooze you lose". Medium spicy was quite spicy, so if you want a kick of spice in your soup, I'd ask for the spice on the side or just opt for a mild Tom yum and ask for spicy sauce. Skewers were delicious, especially with the sauce and mini veg they served it with. Lastly, my family let me have at the LARB. Protein forward, refreshing, and dare I say keto friendly if you're on that diet. The mint and scallions made it so delicious and were also palate cleansers at the same time. This was everything I needed after a heavy day grieving at the NTICU right across the street at Methodist Hospital. Stopped by for some to-go lunch while out Christmas shopping and I'm so glad that I did! Good Thai food is always a bit pricey. This place is no exception to that. This location is easy to find in a shopping center. It's clean and quaint with super friendly staff! While ordering, I was asked if I was vegetarian, just in case I could not have eggs. Although I'm not vegetarian and love eggs in my Thai dishes, I was super grateful that they were concerned enough to ask! I ordered the veggie spring rolls, the Pad Woon Sen (veggie, level 2 spice, no mushrooms, extra noodles), and Thai fried rice (veggie, level 2 spice, no mushrooms). I was a bit surprised with how much food I received. It was plentiful and enough for my daughter and I to eat on for a few days. The flavor of the Pad Woon Sen was perfect! So was the Thai fried rice. The spring roll dipping sauce was delicious! The only thing I will do differently from now on is to bump up the spice level, as level 2 was hardly any spice at all. I was on a mission to find delicious Pad Thai, and I believe we found the place for it. This place is legit and has the best dishes we've had compared to others. I believe that it's the sauce that makes the dish and that's what the other places got wrong. I got the Pad Thai, and their sauce was so flavorful with the right amount of spice and the portions were really good especially at the price. We ordered edimame, chicken larb, and pineapple fried rice with shrimp. The edimame was good quality. You don't get a lot though. The pineapple fried rice was pretty good imo, but wife did not like it...the shrimp in it was a bit mushy, and so was some white clumps of rice that stuck together...it had a lot of flavor though to me and I still enjoyed it. The larb was the most disappointing for us. It tasted completely different than other Thai places....we found that they include lemongrass and we were not used to that flavor with larb. Taste of gravy is okay, had a salty/savory component, good sauce thickness. There was a bean looking ingredient that I'm not sure what it was. Something I've never seen from other Ladna's I've tried whether Lao/Thai or Vietnamese versions. For being seafood and paying the up-charge, which I'm okay with, I only got 5 pieces of shrimp, so $1/shrimp considering the 5th piece being a baby. I had high expectations of this dish. I ordered to-go and the greeting wasn't as welcoming, but the gentleman who brought my food was very polite and kind. Ambiance was cute and offered tight seating. I personally would not dine in. The last time I came for lunch I was served by a young man from Laos, he was excellent at his job, I went to pay and wanted to leave a cash tip and the owner son said: " I'll take it and give it to him" I saw the young man and told him the owners son with glasses and bad skin, has your tip. As I was leaving I saw the kid ask for his tip and the OWNER'S SON tell him: " no, no tip" I tried to tell the manager, the young lady who looks like a boy, and she began to scream at me over the phone about it being a lie. I retired from the Family Court in Vista Ca. as an interpreter, and my husband works for the FBI out of U. T. Southwest, we don't lie about this type of thievery. We tried to let them know that a tip is a "gratuity" you give someone for their service. But like many Asian owned business this type of pettiness and bad habits will be their downfall. I've been here several times but always get so caught up in my food that I never leave a review. This restaurant is a great addition to the area. The food is fresh and the staff is friendly. They have a nice playlist that I always find myself singing along to. To date, I've tried several types of curry (yellow is by far my favorite) with shrimp and chicken. My hubby loves the pad thai and he's able to get it at his preferred spice level. My son enjoyed his beef pho as well. I also like their Tom Yum soup which is the Thai version of hot & sour soup. This new Sunny Thai in Mansfield is your basic strip center location with a clean comfortable interior. There is a banquette along one wall with tables and a few other tables out front. You are greeted by some of the most joyful servers I have ever had the pleasure of meeting! This is our second time dining here and they are just as welcoming this time as the first. The menu variety here is astonishing. We've had a sampling now from almost every category - several appetizers, salad, soup, rice dishes, noodles - and they've all been very good. The appetizers alone take up an entire page. My personal favorite is the Chicken Basil Wraps - marinated and sauteed ground chicken, red bell peppers, water chestnuts, carrots, and onions are wrapped with soft rice paper and served with Thai spicy soy sauce. Entire pieces of Thai Basil are wrapped into it and they're so flavorful. The Chicken Wings are super crunchy and were my husband's favorite; but we both enjoyed the Fried Thai version of Shumai this afternoon. The dipping sauces here are superb! Appetizers are $5.99 - $11.99 Today I had an old favorite, Pad Kee Mow and it was excellent. The veggies were al dente and the heat level was perfect. And those rice noodles! Silky soft and oh so yummy! ($13.99) My husband tried something new, a thinly sliced, lightly battered, fried beef with veggies that was wonderful. ($16.99) It needed a little something to sauce up the rice, so he used some of the Tom Kha broth; but I suppose he could have asked for soy. We ordered a Large bowl of Tom Kha with Shrimp; but even the soup has variety. You can choose Tofu, Chicken, Beef, Seafood - of course with varying prices. The broth was terrific. I love Tom Kha and this was some of the best I've ever had. There was certainly more than enough for 4 people. (Shrimp $13.99) I also want to mention the Thai Beef Salad that I had last time. It was incredible. Sliced grilled beef with fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, scallions, red onions, garlic, chilies, and Thai vinaigrette dressing that I just had to finish. Bright, acidic, and very beefy - I'll be having that again. ($15.99) My husband had a beautiful veggie laden green curry that day, his favorite. The waitress mixed up my friend and my drink and we basically had to TELL HER we wanted new drinks because she initially tried to get us to just switch our straws even after we had drunk out of the glasses (clearly /facepalm). One of our kids was dissatisfied with her chicken teriayaki - it was too sweet to the point where she couldnt eat it - and they STILL charged us for that meal as well as the new meal. This is not a romantic setting so the ambiance I would say is average,but the food is the best Thai food I have had in the DFW area. I went with family, my uncle had the orange chicken and loved it, I cannot remember what my Aunt had but she had something very spicy and loved t also, my son had the drunken noodles on a spice level 5 and loved them. I don't know how they do that spice level 5or if they have to pay for it on the way out, i really don't want to know. I had the pad thai and both my son and I had the tom kha soup. The soup I wasn't as crazy about. not enough coconut flavor for me, but everything else was great. Also if you are into tofu, the tofu in the main dishes is so good you won't believe it. I eat tofu a lot and it is the best I have had here. The service was also excellent, they were refilling our drinks before we could even empty them. Sorry I didn't get pictures of the other dishes.
