It had to have new management since January. The 'spicy beef' sauce was thick and sweet, veggies too limp- and the curry chicken had skin in it, was thick and burned my throat. Not my all time favorites- for years. Sorry. Won't be back to our 'go to' for Chinese food. read more

The lo mein combination noodles that my co workers and I had today were HORRIBLE... hardly no sauce, skimpy on the shrimp. Noodles taste mushy . The first time I got them they were so good.. perfect! This place is jammed packed ! Call in order and pick up, why is it so packed tho? Because it's freaking delicious! And it's clean and organized! They are packed but move fast! The food is so flavorful! I was surprised at how much soup I got in my wonton soup and it was so good ! Lots of greens and plenty of wontons. Fried dumplings were so amazing ! I'm not Chinese, but I'm Asian. The finest Chinese food I've experienced was in Kowloon. It was a floating restaurant. I was only nine, but I remember how delicious it was. In DC and New York, before trying an Asian restaurant. Look at how many Asians eat there! When I moved to Texas, the Chinese food was not as good. Then, "Arc-en-Ciel" from Saigon came to Arlington in the 1990s. No more today. China Island is the tastiest Chinese food I've had in years. My wife and I ordered many dishes. We liked everything. Our favorites are "Happy Family" and "General Tso's Chicken". The spices are milder than many Szechuan dishes in other restaurants. But this allows us to enjoy the flavor more. China Island food has been delicious and fresh each time. And prepared fast each time. We've ordered online several times. Many times, via "Uber Eats", but once in a while, picking up orders ourselves. The portions are generous. There isn't much space for dining in. For ordering online, they are tough to beat. read more

We picked up a pretty large take out order. The service was fine. The food was just ok. None of the dishes tasted bad but nothing was really good either. The Happy Family was our least favorite. It was a mix of seafood and other meats and some veggies. It had little flavor but a strong smell. Hunan Style Chicken, Jalepeno Beef, and Curry Chicken - We asked for spicy, but nothing was spicy. We didn't want to leave the house or cook dinner, so we decided to order takeout. We love how you don't have to call in to place your order. They have a website where you can just order online! Plus, the delivery was fast! Now here is why we didn't give them 4 or 5 stars...We ordered Orange Chicken, Egg Drop Soup, Combination Fried Rice, and Beef Lo Mein. The orange chicken was dry (also the white rice that came with it was super dry), egg drop soup was actually pretty good, combination fried rice was dry, and lo mein was super oily! We ordered for pick up & it's nice we are able to order online beforehand. We order the cheese wontons, beef pad thai, & the combination fried rice. We went to go pick it up & it was probably about half an hour to closing and no one was in there. It's been about two or three months & this has been the usual when I drive by, I just thought it might have picked up especially on a Friday night. The were already cleaning the place (which is good, because they were cleaning it well!) and I got greeted the minute I walked in. Everyone seems really nice so kudos for that. The cream cheese wontons we were we thought they'd be. Crab Rangoons, I was happy to see they were packed in a box where they weren't smushed. These rangoons don't have that bit of sweetness you'd expect, or as much crab as you'd expect either. I will say if you don't order these on a regular basis from places you would be surprised to find specks of crab there. I've made rangoons before and I've had a huge difference using Phildelphia Cream Cheese vs Store Brand. I feel like this might be the case. The beef pad thai was not the best. It seemed more like flat noodles than pad thai, but every place is different. It was had a weird after taste and was more liquidy on the bottom from whatever sauce they used. As we tried to mix it around some of the noodles where just stuck together in big clumps. Beef pad thai was not a win for us either. The combination fried rice was good. My boyfriend went for all the shrimp & only found three. There are generous amounts of beef & chicken so that is a plus. We might try them again in a few months, we'll give them some more time. read more

So stopped her today for lunch on a whim, and to my surprise it was well done. I ordered the b lunch specials of combination fried rice without beef (so just chicken and shrimp) and the orange chicken with streamed rice, it was great. What I really like about the orange chicken is that it has this crisp to it and the chicken wasn't fat pieces, but actual chicken. The guy was really nice who took my order, and the place was clean!! Maybe the food can redeem the hour+ wait, but I doubt we'll be back. I've seen the same door-dash guy come in TWICE. FYI No done-in. Hopefully this isn't the service they provide all year. Zhēn bàng That is Chinese for Awesome! (Had to Google it) This place really surprised me. I'm not sure what I was expecting when my wife asked me to pick this up for lunch (she works nearby and said it was good), but wow! The first thing I did was went to the restroom and that said a lot... clean, clean, clean. The whole restaurant was really clean... The food: I tried the Jalapeno Beef. The beef in this dish (and expect in all dishes) was SO tender and succulent. The best beef I have ever had at at Chinese restaurant. The brown sauce was on point and veggies cooked nicely. My wife had the Szechuan Chicken, which I did not try but she said was great also. Oh, as you can see from the picture the portions are big, so go hungry. read more

We originally wanted to sub the rice for low mein but they said it would be a $3 up-charge which is a little steep for me. Our orange chicken was good but I expected a little more .
