This place makes a good burger. If you just want a good old fashion style burger nothing crazy this is the place. A cozy hope in the wall with fast service. Everything is fresh. I enjoyed my burger and will be back!

I visited the Maple & Motor on Maple Avenue in the Dallas Medical District after hearing it frequently listed among Dallas' "Best Burgers," so I finally had to try for myself. I visited late on a Friday afternoon. This location has a small countertop bar, along with a variety of two and four top tables. The overall vibe is very basic and functional with no discernible style or decor. I ordered their cheeseburger, onion rings, and a draft beer. The burger is a hefty half-pound patty with classic toppings, and the onion rings are the thick-cut variety with a heavy batter. The service was non-existent self-serve. They take your order from a walk-up cash register where you have to stand in line, order, and get a number. One lady took all the orders while others just stood around doing nothing. When the food is ready they drop it by the table. Everyone seemed bored and unhappy. The burger was good, large, cooked perfectly, and enjoyable--but ultimately just a standard flat-top burger. The bun gave out and crumbled before I could finish leaving me needing a fork to get the last bites. Tasty, but I reserve my highest praise for burgers with deeper flavor from charring or wood grilling. The onion rings tasted fairly generic, likely the typical frozen variety many restaurants use. Overall, Maple & Motor serves a well-prepared and tasty burger. For me, it was solid and enjoyable, but not exceptional.

The burgers at this hole-in-wall spot are absolutely amazing! The interior is teeming with Americana that gives the restaurant a fun, nostalgic vibe. The fries themselves are okay, not the best but not the worst. The tater-tots are better overall. The onion rings on the other hand are absolutely amazing!!! Pro-tip: if you are going to order to-go, ask for toppings on the side to prevent them from getting soggy.

Second time here in 3 yrs and asking myself why I haven't been here sooner!!! Staff is very attentive and helpful. My order came out super quick. I really love that they cook their burgers pink. So juicy and tasty. Ordered their regular burger with tater tots. Nice cozy chill vibe to enjoy a beer after work on the way home.

Stopped by Maple and motor again for a burger after hanging out at cidercade for a bit. Since it was a Thursday night, parking was extremely easy and the restaurant was not crowded. I highly recommend stopping by here on a week night if you are in the area. When you walk in you'll approach the counter, order with the cashier, and they'll hand you a number. There is open seating throughout the restaurant and the food runners will bring you your food. I ordered a cheeseburger with grilled onions and American cheese. The burger was excellent and by far one of the better burgers in Dallas. It's hard to find a good burger in Dallas these days. If you're in the Mockingbird area of Dallas, I highly recommend something by Maple and Motor for a burger.

Stopped by Maple & Motor as it came highly recommended from a friend. The location has plenty of onsite parking available. I went on a Thursday night around 7 pm, and it wasn't overly crowded and had plenty of seating inside. I opted for a cheeseburger with cheddar cheese plus added grilled onions and a runny egg. I asked for it to be pink versus not pink, and it was the right move. So good! All together with my additions, the burger was $12. Not crazy expensive, but for the quality it's a bit pricier than similar burgers elsewhere. However, the flavor was very good and it was filling. I also shared cheese fries with the bacon and jalapeño on top. I was not expecting the jalapeños (plus the carrots randomly) to be pickled, and it wasn't really my jam. Next time I would go for the tots. I give it four stars for how delicious the burger was. It's honestly plenty of food with the burger alone.

When I got back to my hotel, I opened social media and the first video I see is a review of someone's favorite burger place in Dallas. It wasn't for Maple and Motor. But that's what got me here. I looked up burgers nearby and the picture in the results looked amazing. Didn't hurt that it was really close to the hotel. The inside isn't all that large. GREAT. I love that. Walked straight up to the counter and ordered. Do you want it pink? I tell you hwat. You know I did. Cheeseburger - lettuce, tomato, pickle, grilled jalapeños, pepper jack. I also ordered some beer batter onion rings and a Coors Banquet on tap. I hadn't even had half my beer, before the food was hitting the table. This burger... I gotta rank it in my top 5 burgers I guess. I couldn't tell you the other four though I'm willing to bet the fried baloney is wildly nostalgic. Definitely worth the visit. The staff were all super friendly and attentive. 100% come by here and get a burger.

Small burger and more stop in the medical district. One of the best burgers in Dallas in my opinion. This place always makes my hungry belly happy. Can't go wrong with fries, tots or onion rings. Order at the counter and find a table or one of the four bar spots. Customer's hats hang from the rafters and the owners Golden Griddle award sits by the bar. If you like burgers you have to make it in here. Plenty of other options too.

The food was great but definitely should be for the price. Almost $22 for brisket burger, fries and small drink. You just order at the county but if there are several people in a group no one is allowed to sit before everyone orders their food. You can't hold tables while others are in line. It's just a hole in wall place with a bunch of ball caps hanging from ceiling so nothing fancy but good burgers.

Apparently this is a Dallas staple and has been around for years. Stand in line, order your burger pink or cooked all the way. With cheese and or fixings. You receive a keychain with a number. They will help you find a seat once you have ordered. We chose to sit at the bar. The burgers and fries came out piping hot with awesome service. Friendly and delicious. Food hit the spot.

Found this little gem while in Dallas on an overnight trip. Had the cheeseburger and onion rings. The food came out hot and exactly how I ordered it... with large portions and excellent service added to the experience, how could I not want to come back for more?!! Great little neighborhood spot that was easy to find and on my list to visit again for something else to try on the menu.

Hmmmmmm, this place didn't pass the vibe check. I really wanted a bomb burger while in Dallas and the pics looked promising. I dropped by right before closing 1 night around 820pm. There were several other customers dining in and still ordering when I came in. Its a small space to dine and carry out. I reviewed the menu while another customer ordered her food. While ordering thr cashier kept cutting me off, which made me 4get to add bacon until another patron asked was bacon ordered on hers, so I added it and the cashier seemed irritated to add it. If she hadn't been interrupting me while I was ordering then she wouldn't have had to go back to add it. I dined it since it was raining I wanted to wait out the storms. Burger was received in about 5 mins. It was prepared correctly and fresh. It was a nice size. However, It was pricey and nothing to write home about. The energy was dry and weird in here. I ate half of my food and then wrapped up the rest and left. I personally wouldn't return.

Had to go back & zoom in on these amazing Brisket chili cheese tator tots

This unassuming restaurant tucked in a corner of nondescript row of stores has stood the test of time. My first review of the place was in 2013. Here it is 13 years later then it is still going strong. I went for lunch with the family on a snow day. You order at the counter and they bring it to your table. No numbers, they just remember who you are. I always get combo number 1 and add sweet potato fries. The prices are great and not much more than McDonalds but the difference in value is significant. The burgers are not thick but this time I noticed the double burger (#2) is just a couple of bucks more than the the single patty in #1. Note to self for next time. Although the patty is thin, the flavors work. The burger comes with lettuce, tomato, onion, and mustard. No ketchup, you add that yourself. The bun with sesame seeds always comes out piping hot. Sweet potato fries are crispy and not greasy. The combo comes with a drink for $10.99. That's a deal. I hope they stay in business another 13 years!

The neighborhood may continue to change around it, but Chip's remains the same. My Overall Rating - 4 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - Chip's has an old school, nostalgic feel. The restaurant has an iconic sloping roof with a yellow outdoor exterior and a big green sign with its logo. Inside, there are plenty of booths, a bar, and even outdoor seating. Chip's has grown and expanded over the years but to me that adds to the nostalgic charm. 1 Star. Service - Chip's may have invented counter service. Upon entering, you look at the menu posted on the wall and place your order. You'll get a number (or they'll ask for your name), and you grab a table, and when your food is ready it comes out. Fast, efficient, and the staff was super friendly. 1 Star. Food - Chip's is known for its poppy seed hamburger buns. While it's pretty and tasty, the most important part, the patty, is pretty average. Honestly, there are many other great burger joints in Dallas. On the other hand, the fried onion strings are a must order for your side. While I wasn't a fan of the burger, the fried onion strings saved my meal. The Oreo and Fresh Banana shakes were also a nice cold, creamy, sweet ending to my meal. 1 Star. Will I Return? - Yes. I hope Chip's never changes.
