Double meat bacon cheeseburger plain and crispy tater tots. I already eat half the tater tots

I do not know why it's been so long since I've visited Chips Old Fashion Hamburgers. It was outstanding my burger was cooked perfectly and it was juicy, juicy enough that I had to use napkins. The tater tots were cooked to perfection, nice and crispy. The staff was very friendly and the place very clean. The bartender., Sydney and the GM Derrick were very helpful. They explained the menu and pointed their best burger. They have lots burgers to choose from and they offer salads, sandwiches, and steak fingers. Let's just say, lots of options to choose from. If you are like me and haven't been in a while and I'm recommended you give it another try because you will not be disappointed .

Hidden burger spot! The parking is small but definitely worth it. Everything is made to order and has generous portions. I got the regular 1/3lb burger ($7.99) in medium rare. It was huge and very flavorful. You can customize and add cheese and other toppings for about a $1. Everyone else in my table was happy with their orders and the inside had a very family friendly vibe/seating.

Went here with my kids for late lunch. Good food, good service, more parking spots would be better.

Food is very good! I had had the French dip and the Philly cheese steak. Both delicious 5/5. The Oreo milkshake was very good. Food comes out fast. The service is very friendly. The ambiance is a decent size , 4 top tables. They have a bakery and a bar connected, also a patio. The prices are ehh. Seems like they keep going up. The prices on the website don't match the restaurant. Except to pay $2 more than the website. I'd return! Love the food!

Chips Old Fashioned Hamburgers serves up a a pretty good 1/2 pound burger. I went with a poppy seed bun, cheddar cheese, and caramelized onions (instead of raw), plus a side of sweet potato fries. The burger was cooked exactly how I ordered--medium well--with a nice juicy bite. The poppy seed bun had a fresh taste and was super fluffy on top. Veggies tasted fresh too, but I wish there were more of them. The lettuce was pretty minimal and I barely caught a pickle in there, so maybe thicker cut pickles or just more of them would take it up a notch. The only thing keeping this from a perfect score was the bun situation--the top was great, but the bottom came out soggy, and no one likes a soggy bun. Sweet potato fries were on point--crispy outside with a soft inside. Service was friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. The space has a cool, old-fashioned vibe, and there's even a bar connected to the restaurant. Not sure if it's officially part of it, but it's pretty cool that they're connected. Overall, I'd give it a solid 4.5 if I could!

    mac and cheese

We came in with a large group so we tried a little of everything! Service was quick and the food was decent. The good: burgers, fish and chips, chili dog, salads, taters tots, fried pickles, shoestring onions, fries... The bad: The mac and cheese should be taken off the menu. It was bland and tasteless. The so called cheese wasn't mixed throughout the pasta and the pasta just clumped together. It was not cheesy or creamy and just way overpriced. Overall, lots of menu options, just skip the mac and cheese!

Never judge a book by its cover!! Everything we had was good here ! Burgers are good and you could customize it to however you like and add anything you want!! The fries and onion, strings or big portion well worth it!! Food came out pretty fast. Everything was good flavor. I will be coming back to the spot again.

decided to give chips, old-fashioned hamburgers, a try. I went ahead and ordered me the bison burger with some loaded cheese fries. I'll go ahead and get to the point. I noticed that on the menu and the burger say that they are cooked medium but unfortunately, my burger was cooked. Well done the meat just did not have a lot of flavor. On the other hand, the loaded cheese fries were actually pretty good. It was during lunch so I sat at the bar. The place was pretty empty by the way.. I'm sure it gets busy at times. At least I can say I tried it, but it was not one of my best places for burger.

First timer. Wife and I have passed this place many times and said we need to visit. Always cars and a crowd. Probably a hit with the locals but we traveled from Arlington. They have a larger menus than I was expecting so we stuck with a burger. Delicious! We ordered a full order of friend onions strings and they were awesome. We split an order and still had some leftover. Will be back soon! Parking a bit tight but you can park next door just north and the dinner.

This review is for 12/7/2023. I passed this place coming from another appointment and said I'd try it out. I ordered 1/3 burger with cheddar cheese and bacon, an Oreos shake, and chili cheese fries. I'll start by saying the burger was juicy and pretty flavorful. The milkshake was indeed tasty and creamy and hit the spot after the meal. This place gets a 4 out of 5 for me only because the chili cheese fries weren't what I expected. Do not get me wrong, for the small portion, they gave me a ton to eat and they were indeed good. The only disappointment was that they used shredded cheeses and melted it on top of the chili and fries vs having a nice cheese sauce to complement the chili. They have a wide variety of items on the menu, so I'll certainly try other things the next time I return.

The apps were the Aguachile which was the better of the two, and the other were the crab croquettes which were packed with crab but lacked in flavor. Of the entrees the blacked catfish was the better one. The only issue was the huge portion of mashed potatoes which were reminiscent of powered mash, but the catfish itself was outstanding. On the other side I've never had a lobster roll before but this genuinely has no flavor and has experienced some serious shrinkflation when compared to other pictures here on yelp of it. The fries were great though. The dessert also was nothing memorable and was a very basic bread pudding that could've been warmer. Overall, I was not impressed by Pesca as the reviews may have led me to believe, but it is still a solid place in trinity groves that deserves be more attention.

We sat at the table for two near the door which had great lighting, and it was really fun to people watch as pedestrians roamed outside. Our server recommended a few cocktails - I got the Limelight which was delicious and my friend got one of the clarified cocktails, which was also very tasty. Honestly the alcohol flavor was masked super well so they're very dangerous drinks! Will have to come by to try some of the others. Our server was super helpful explaining & coursing out the menu, and we got a bunch of items to share. First up we got the scallop aguachile, which was tart and spicy and super refreshing, and the salmon tartare which was creamy and decadent and came with shatteringly crisp wonton chips. Really excellent starters, and they made me want to come back and get the rest some time! Then we split the ahi tuna tostadas and the crab avocado tostadas, which come 2 per order. Hugo O. came over to ask if we were sharing and helpfully had them plated one each per plate so we could eat them more easily, and also brought over a chili pequín hot sauce to complement the tostadas. They were so good! I'll be dreaming about both the tostadas and the pequín sauce for a while. The ahi tuna was super fresh and went so well with the accompaniments, and the crab didn't get lost in the other flavors on that tostada. The crisp tortillas underneath also held up really well to each bite; I'm so used to tostadas shattering upon first taste but the structural integrity of Hugo's were super impressive. For our main we split the fish of the day, which was seared Hokkaido scallop atop a bed of corn risotto. This also came pre-split into two bowls so we didn't have to do it ourselves, which was a super nice touch. The scallops were cooked to perfection, super soft and tender with an incredible crust, and the corn risotto was super creamy and savory. Almost a little too salty for me with the amount of cheese, but still so good I almost licked the bowl clean. Seriously good food here - sad it's a bit of a trek from where I live but I can't wait to come back to try more of the menu!

I am from the Pacific Northwest and I love seafood. I've lived in Dallas for 3 1/2 years and have generally avoided it because anytime I've had it, its been disappointing. This is the first seafood place that's not a sushi place that I am obsessed with. It's a very small space, very intimate, can be a little bit loud at times depending on who's sitting next to you...but if you have the money and you're looking for quality seafood, this place is incredible. Perfect to celebrate a special occasion or a date night. highly recommend. service is great. We ordered the seafood tower and every single item on it was delicious. Definitely ask for some melted butter to go with your lobster. Im not big on poke but the poke was seasoned with sesame oil and was so fresh. The scallops were buttery and amazing. The oysters were the perfect size. Fresh? Not overly salty. The mignonette was perfect. This was the first meal I've been this excited about since i discovered otaru sushi...but other than that can't think of any other places where the food blew my mind and made my eyes roll back in my head. The thing is that seafood can be so tricky. The biggest part is the quality/freshness. Everything on the seafood tower was extremely simple, but it was also perfection. It was beautiful to look at as well.

Often times after it's all said & done, you wonder - was that worth it? Thankfully, that is NOT the experience I had at Haywire! I ate here on August 9th, 2025 and enjoyed everything about it. I was with a large party but would love to return for a more intimate experience. On this Saturday, my younger cousin was graduating from Parker University so I was in town for the weekend. At around 1pm, I was one of the first to arrive at the restaurant. Unfortunately the parking is a bit confusing. There was construction being done on the same street when I went but there's a parking garage for customers that's difficult to navigate AND the elevator that connects wasn't operating at the time which was an issue for many (but not me, I got a good spot & walked). My party hadn't all arrived yet so I took a gander. Upon entering the tall doors, the space breathes southwestern elegance: wooden structure, leather seating, separate dining areas with highlighted ranch-style art. The abundance of space gives it an open-concept feel. The lighting fixtures are modern, the space was dim but not too low, with an option to utilize the large windows also. I was quiet impressed at the overall presentation. When my party did arrive, I wanted to keep it simple so I ordered the Chicken Cobb Salad and a Hibiscus Haze with Vodka. The table shmoozed as we ate some of the appetizers: the Crab Dip & Green Tomatoes, both amazing. The food did take some time but, considering it was 10-12 of us, that's expected. The Hibiscus Haze was splendid: smooth & flavorful, a great concoction. Cobb salads are usually pretty thick but this one was HEARTY. It came in a large bowl stuffed with the all the toppings. The dressing it was tossed with was well balanced but could've used a tad bit more. With some pepper & a little ranch, I was set! I defeated the salad but it also left me stuffed to the gills. Satisfying meal that I would order again! There are tons of restaurants to dine at in Dallas & sometimes you never know which is worth your time. Despite the inconvenience of parking, I'd bet my bottom dollar that this is a good place to eat. Whether you want a fine dining experience, it's a special occasion or just want a good drink with a meal, Haywire has enough to satisfy all interests.

Knowledgeable about the menu & great recommendations. Kev was a joy to have as our server. The food is amazing & love the ambiance of the restaurant. My only complaint...we came in early Saturday prior to Stars game. The restaurant wasn't busy at all. We were asked if we had a reservation. We did not, the restaurant wasn't busy at all. We were asked to wait. Waited maybe 5-10mins. No biggie, A lot of open tables were available for immediate sit down. Again that wasn't a big deal. I had asked for a booth & wanted to sit in front room. The hostess said no a problem. She handed us off to a younger hostess and she took us to a table. I told her I had requested a booth. In the front room only 3 tables were occupied. I pointed out the booth and she said that's for party of 6. However, we could have the 1/2 table/booth. Made absolutely no sense because that was for a party of 6 as well. I made this comment & she just stared at me without saying a word. I didn't want to seem difficult and took the table as she just walked away. Kev was confused as we were. No good communication skills. It was an awkward encounter. The restaurant wasn't busy at all & never was whole time there. Kev wasn't sure why she didn't move us a requested & was puzzled himself. However i apologized to him & explained I wasn't trying to be difficult, but prefer booth sitting and most times we will wait for one. We left at 1:45p and restaurant was no busier than when we arrived. Reservation/Booth or not! I guess saying all of this, your front staff need to have more people skills when dealing with your customers. They are the face and first point of contact. Again Kev was amazing & food was outstanding!
