The crawfish are in season- fresh not frozen, HUGE, and absolutely amazing! They have the right amount of heat, seasonings and everything else! I've been ordering from here for years, but never have I had their Crawfish until last night. Also, you must try the whole catfish and the grilled zucchini and squash! The best grilled veggies ever! This is a quiet spot amongst a bunch of bouncy, upscale restaurants. This is a down home spot, with plenty of seating and a comfy atmosphere. The prices are adjacent to the amount of food. We were in the area trying breweries and needed a bite to eat. We love some seafood so during our search of local eateries, I come across this place. You walk in and order, and then they give you a buzzer. When it goes off, you go he your food. They sell beer. They had a couple boil options which my husband enjoyed the snow crab and shrimp boil and my dad had the shrimp boil. The food looked good and the Cajun seasoning was not too strong. I had oysters on a half shell. The horseradish was on the table already but it seemed weak. My oysters were good sized, clean, and shucked. My mom had the number two most ordered item, but can't remember what it was. It was a piece of tilapia on a bed of rice, with shrimp and a Cajun cream sauce. She said it was super tasty. We tried their alligator queso. That shit was so freaking good. The little restaurant was funny. They adopt Billy the Bass from people and then you can get a free catfish dinner. read more

I've had flying fish many times at the Fort Worth location. I didn't realize they offer crawfish during the season. It's $8.95 for a pound which is pretty reasonable compared to other places in Dallas. I think it was okay crawfish for the price. I did ask for extra butter and old bay on the side. I will say the crawfish was definitely seasoned well but needed a little more butter on the potato and the corn. In terms of the size it definitely was a pound with some good sized crawfish. I also ordered the alligator queso and it was really good. We just needed more chips. Overall, I highly recommend but the place could be a little cleaner. Flying fish is always pretty good. My fav of all the things is the beans & rice so I'm glad it comes as a side with all the entrees. I got the salmon tacos which were pretty good. It was a Wednesday so my sister got the all-you-can-eat catfish. She was convinced it wasn't really catfish but it tasted really well. The Flying Fish is a casual dining experience. The prices are reasonable and the portions are huge! I've been a couple times and have always been pleased. Today they had rainbow trout on special for $11.49 with 2 sides (lots of options!). I got red beans and rice and fried okra, both were tasty and fresh. Also large portions. I also added 6 hush puppies for $1.00!! They have a couple seasoning options for the trout and I got both garlic butter and Cajun seasoning. It was so good! The fish was flaky and flavorful! Place is really dope & has a good lunch vibe to it! Got the 2 piece catfish w/fries & hushpups, I'd give the catfish a 8.2 outta 10 just a bit heavy on the breading in my opinion but still delicious! A little over priced as well came out to 17$ but welcome to Dallas pricing, maybe could've done 4 hush puppies and that would've made it worth that price to me. Having been raised by a Japanese mother, I grew up on seafood & loved it all my life. After viewing some details on a few YouTube videos, I just had to go there. In fact, I went twice. Decided to try this place out because it was close to work. You immediately feel like you are walking into a mom/pop, good southern spot. There are framed pictures of customers with their fish catch all over the restaurant. Quite a few options for food.
