Top 3 on my list of seafood places. Service is very great had a tall white guy who was very attentive and seemed to be new at the time of our visit. Liked the vibe it was dark but not too dark and it was nice and clean. The sauce is one of the best sauces I have had, the flavors is most definitely there and the spicy is there too. I usually get a pound of crab and 2 pounds of shrimp that comes with a combo deal that gets use from free sides. Only complaint is the garlic noodles are not that great not enough seasoning in it but can be fixed by adding some of that sauce from the seafood. One of the biggest issues I have at most places is that the potatoes are still hard not here. They were cooked fully and perfect. They also have a QR code you can scan and see there market prices, I know some of use hate to ask so they made it easy for you too know how much you will pay at the end. We ordered on UberEats and unfortunately the food was underwhelming overall. It did come in a nice reusable bag with gloves though which was a thoughtful touch. The Fisherman's Platter ($30.99) comes with 2 fish, 1 soft shell crab, 6 shrimps, half a cup of calamari, and sweet potato fries. Everything was soggy by the time it arrived with no crispiness to speak of. We air fried the leftovers the next day and it was noticeably better so this is probably a dish best enjoyed fresh. The shrimp was the best of the bunch followed by the fish. The fries were actually better than some of the seafood but everything was pretty average overall. The 1 Lb Crawfish Cap't Loui Hot ($20.25) was okay but some pieces didn't taste very fresh. The 1 Lb Clams Garlic Butter Hot ($23.91) were surprisingly huge. Both lacked strong flavor and the seafood didn't absorb the sauce well at all. We had to do long dunks just to get any seasoning into it and even then it didn't compare to other boil spots we've been to. Soooo this is going to be a review I hate leaving but after spending close to $200 at this place and being asked to leave so they can close was a bit .... Well disappointing! My girl friend asked me to meet her for dinner at the last minute so I thought "oh seafood? Yes!" We arrived at the restaurant at 9:15 (they close at 10pm). The waiter came and told us that they close the kitchen at 9:30pm. No problem we decided to take advantage of the 4 lb seafood special with unlimited garlic noodles. Well the problem is that we were eating our food, and they told us that they are closing soon. And we asked if we can get more noodles bc they are unlimited and they said no ---Because the kitchen was closed. There were several tables eating beside us... and so we were disappointed bc the server NEVER ONCE came back to check on us after getting our food. So there was no way to get our noodles. Anyhow, they kept coming up to us as it gets near 10pm. Telling us that we have to leave at 10 bc they are closing. Mind you there were plenty of people still eating!!! We were also literally still eating!!! They rushed us out and I can tell you I won't be back. Our bill was close to $200 and we were told to leave so they can go home. Cap't Loui is right next to the newest H Mart in Dallas on Royal Lane. They also have a location in Carrollton. I would like to review in the future. When it comes to dining, I knew my aim was to get the lunch special so I could get an assortment for a great price which I was able to do. The lunch special comes at $18.95 you get your choice of 12 items total, six of two seafood items. Also you get a side dish. For my choices, I had the head on shrimp, and crawfish, with the famous garlic noodles as my side. I called my order in, and was answered quickly & graciously by a staff member. A male staff member took my number quickly, and was helpful waiting for me a bit to share what I wanted. Upon arrival, the staff had some instrumental music playing, and the restaurant was a bit dark, but it was nice. I think that the tone of the lighting elevated the look. The woman working the front immediately knew who I was there to pick up for and handed me my order in a lovely large insulated bag which I appreciated because it kept my meal warm on my drive back home. When looking in the bag a bib and gloves were thankfully provided too!! The food was filling, and pretty good. However, I will say it's not as tasty as something I feel I would get in Atlanta perhaps. I was really looking for a seafood boil that I felt could rival Georgia. I wouldn't say this is it, but for where we are in Dallas. It's definitely one of the best I've had here. I got the spice level at a medium, with the Capt Loui blend which is an assortment of all the flavorings offered. I would up the spice next time, it was simply a hint not enough to get my nose running which can be expected from the name. There also wasn't a lot of the seasoning in the bottom of the boil which I didn't anticipate? The garlic noodles were my least favorite item; typically I prefer them more buttery and cheesy, These tasted greasy, and had a sprinkle of cheese they were garlic heavy though which is appreciated. As an oyster lover, I went in to try their 1 dollar oyster Tuesday deal... every single oyster I had sand in it, crazy graininess to every bite. We let the owner know but he responded "it's because their fresh oysters and that's how they're supposed to be". Not only were they grainy as hell they were definitely not fresh! I had been craving seafood for some time, and since we were checking out the new H Mart instead of our usual one in Carrollton, we noticed this place next door and decided to try it out. I'm so glad we did because it did not disappoint at all. The service was really great, the restaurant was very clean, and it had that typical seafood boil ambiance, but much cleaner and nicer. We ordered the Fisherman's Basket, which had a delicious variety of fried seafood, including soft shell crab, which you don't see often. We also got 3 lbs of seafood boil with snow crab and shrimp, and it was so good. The sauce was delicious, it was the Capt Sauce Mix. They also had some nice mocktails, which were fun to try, and we even got a free dessert for doing a review. This is definitely a great spot and a new favorite for seafood cravings. read more

We stopped by during their grand opening weekend. The space was clean & spacious. We tried their crawfish, head on shrimp, & snow crab with the capt' loui sauce. We got it with a hot spice level & it was pretty spicy, but manageable. The crawfish was pretty big & the sauce was good. The seafood market prices are little higher than most seafood boil places. If you get one of the boiler specials, it comes with sides, so it ends up being around the same prices as other places. Also, each order does come with one corn & one potato already. Right now for their grand opening weekend, if you order 4 pounds of seafood, you'll get 3 sides, unlimited garlic noodles, & free cluster of snow crab. It's a lot of food & a pretty good deal. Cap't Loui is located in the same parking lot as H-Mart, so parking can get tricky. The inside is kept clean, and they offer a care station where you can find different things to help you enjoy your experience. They are pricey, and some portions are small. Service for a party of 7 (4 adults 3 kids) was okay during a semi-busy hour. Lemonade pouch was $6, no refills. Cajun fries were good in flavor and crispy. The portion is small for an $8 price point. The seafood boils were also a little more expensive than other seafood places, but the size of the shrimp made it worth it. The flavor of their boil sauce was really flavorful! The mussels they offer are green mussels, and their texture was a bit tough. So was the corn on the cob. Fish and chips are made from cod, but this lacked a little flavor, and the portion is small for a hungry adult. Garlic noodles are plentiful and good in flavor but a bit dry. The fried shrimp basket was fresh, crispy, and delicious. Funnel cake fries were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. I'm an oyster lover and boy did I love these!! I saw this reel on Instagram about how they had $1 oysters on Tuesdays and the oysters were nice and juicy. I wish they had the mignonette sauce but lemon juice and hot sauce was just as good. I also got the garlic noodles and mixed some of the sauce from my seafood bag with the noodles and it was fire. Decided to try this crawfish spot next to my work last night. They had a decent seafood combo deal: buy 2 pounds of seafood and get 1 free side, or buy 3 pounds and get 2 free sides. We ordered the garlic noodles as one of our sides, but unfortunately they were very bland and lacked flavor. The biggest issue was the crawfish. Our first round of 3 pounds live crawfish was actually really good, so we decided to order more. When the second round of 2 pounds came out, we were shocked.. it tasted frozen, fishy, and completely different from the first batch. For a restaurant charging $18.99 per pound for live crawfish, receiving what appeared to be frozen crawfish was extremely disappointing. We spoke with our server and learned that their other location in Carrollton is a franchise and charges only $11.99 per pound for live crawfish. That's a pretty significant price difference. Overall, the inconsistency in quality and the high price left a bad taste in our mouths. The first round gave us high hopes, but the second round completely changed our experience. They never bother to call us to let us know the table was ready, as they said they would when we first got there. We proceeded with sitting down. Service took a long time. We ordered 1 lb crawfish and 1/2 lb shrimp, seafood platter and a couple drinks. $20 for 1lb of crawfish is very over rated but my husband loves trying everyone's boil. The flavor was good. I'm not sure what they put in the sauce, but I have never craved a seafood Boil like I do with them my boyfriend and I couldn't stop talking about it for the rest of the night. The sauce is not salty at all, a tad sweet with a little citrus. I can't explain it, you'll just have to try yourself!! Order rice on the side to pour it on top. My only complaint is the garlic noodles are a little dry, and crawfish price is a lot higher than others. So I would just stick to Crab! read more

Came here on a sunday afternoon for a birthday in replacement of Kickin Crab and had a very good experience here. This location just opened and wasn't very busy and clean. When ordering, the servers were very patient in helping us choose what we wanted which i appreciated. We got an order of normal fries first, then their lemon pepper fries, which were good, but couldn't taste much of the lemon pepper tbh. They also had some sort of orange house sauce to pair with the fries which seemed like thousand island, but it was good regardless. We then got our garlic noodles which tasted great, not too oily/buttery like other places, but still had a strong garlic flavor. We then received our boil, the star of the show. The crab was cooked perfectly and allowed me to get perfect pieces of meat out the shell as a bad crab eater lol. I also really enjoyed the ez peel shrimp and crawfish especially when dipping it back in the house sauce our boil was in. My favorite side was the corn; it was very easy to eat and had me going back to it over and over again. Their sausage was also good and not too strong of a smoky flavor which i like. We got both their funnel cake fries and beignets to end our trip. The funnel cake fries had a crisp exterior while the beignets were nice and fluffy. Overall i had great time here, and we throughly enjoyed this more than Kickin Crab, so try it out! read more

We were super excited to try this new place by Hmart. There was wait for 30 minutes for two people, which was no issue. However we got called in and when coming back inside immediately they seated someone else. We waited another 10 minutes. We got a round of oysters, which were excellent. However when we got our boil we were shocked to see there was hardly any sauce in the bag. Compared to other seafood boils they just seemed stingy with the sauce so we would have to buy extra. Which we did, which was an extra $6 for sauce that should have already come with the boil. After that the boil was good but just not up to standard to the other places around. read more

Heard about this place from Instagram and decided to give it a try. Cornelius was my server and he was GREAT. Made my experience so much better, and helped recommend good food and drinks!! Jessica greeted us and was extremely kind and even offered free rice due to how busy it was and she apologized profusely even though I completely understood due to it being the weekend during a busy hour. Let's start with the pros- our waitress was good minus having to ask for refills. She was quick when asked. She explained the menu and sauces. Place is clean, but parking on Saturday night was a bit rough just because it was busy, even at 9:15 at night. Cons- I am from the coast so cooking seafood is something that not everyone can nail. The medium heat and Loui sauce was good. Different. Had a hint of sweet, Cajun heat. Now onto to the seafood itself. The crab was severely over cooked. When you cook snow crab it was shrivel the meat up and dry it out inside the legs, claws etc. in pictures you will see. I have never been to a finer restaurant that doesn't wash their crawfish. We get crawfish almost weekly during season. You can get fresh live as field run, washed and graded etc. they were decent in size, but they were filthy and tasted like mud with buttery Cajun to cover it. Again pictures to show. The sausage is like a cheap eckridge sausage that's been sliced and over cooked making the outside chewy/ rubber like casing. The ez peel shrimp no head were over cooked. Again when you over cook it actually clings to the shell making it impossible to slip tail and shell off. It too had zero favor until you got the shell off and dipped into the sauce. Pricing. I get crawfish shipped to Abilene, TX EVERY Friday and I pay $4 per pound for washed and graded. For them to charge $15.42 a pound for smaller and dirty was crazy. For 2 cluster of crab $42 was insane. We did a 4lb and three side. We choose the noodles, garlic toast and sausage as the sides. Bread lacked crunch. Wasn't done enough. The all you can eat noodles were super dry. There was no actual plates or dishes to eat in front of you. Paper boats that after ten minutes of buttery started to fold. Now if you read the door it says closes at 11. Kitchen 30 minutes prior. By 10 we were done fighting shrimp and ripping them apart because they were over cooked. I asked to for the funnel cake fries. Kitchen was closed. Felt really weird having them put chairs up on tables all around us, almost forcing us out. All in all I am a seafood lover and critic so I am much more picky then typical person that never eats it. 1-2 stars out of 5. ** yes I did mention over cooked to staff, but on menu it states you order it you eat it. No refunds. We got a Oh I'm sorry. But not a hey let me take that back and fix a new one. read more
