I order from here when I want fried seafood especially whole fish. I called my order in for whole red snapper. They answer quickly and take order and give you a number. You can pick up/pay in drive thru. They place is small and gets crowded. Nothing fancy but good. So I prefer to go. The cost was expensive for this place $36. The snapper was good but barely was seasoned. My hubby forgot condiments. The sauce plus salt and pepper woke it up. It comes with rice and salad. read more

This is the best ceviche in my opinion! I usually get 3 or 5lbs depending on who's over my house. They also give plenty of tostadas , avocado, and hot sauce so you can make your own ceviche tostadas at home. Very well packaged and simply the best ceviche "De Sierra" Best in the summer when it's hot with an ice cold Modelo to accompany the seafood! read more

EXCELLENT!! Fantastic seafood. My kids took me there for a late lunch Saturday, it was amazing. I had a catfish filet and fried shrimp! The largest shrimp I've ever seen. Ordering was quick and service was great. People were coming and going the whole time! It was busy but not so bad you felt like you had to eat fast. I'd definitely love to go again. Another nice thing, they have a drive through!! I am a seafood lover, so I'll definitely be back! Thank you Seafood Shack for a wonderful meal!! read more

I love whole fried catfish over fillets. So after researching, I ordered pick up from the seafood shack. I've seen this place dozen times, but never thought to get food from there. The place was very crowded, so it was a good thing that I ordered online ahead of time. I got the impression that a lot of regulars go there. The majority of the parking in front of the restaurant is for to-go and online orders, so maybe all of the patrons parked in the back somewhere? My food was still hot when I got home. The catfish was fried extra hard, just the way I like it. It came with fries. They were your typical frozen fries with seasoning sprinkled on them. I did not eat them. It also came with hush puppies and some hot sauce. The catfish was pretty good. And because I'm so greedy, I also got the shrimp boil. I was so full from the fish, I was only able to taste one of the shrimps just to get an idea, you know, while they were still hot. From what I could tell, the shrimp was pretty good. It came with corn and potatoes, as well. Oh and yes, they have a drive-thru. read more

Came here for the first time on a Sunday around one pm. The music was overwhelming and loud. I didn't like how crowded it was. The tables were too close together and tiny. Being a seafood restaurant there's large dishes and platters and it was not practical. We had to play Tetris with the drinks and sauce stand to make room for our plates. I really wanted to run out before ordering anything because it was just too much. But the drinks and food came out fairly quickly. The food was satisfying. The menu has so many dishes it was very tasking to choose. The drinks were refreshing, I ordered an agua de guayava. It was perfect no artificial sugar was a plus. One of my kids is a chicken nugget kid so he ordered cheese sticks as a meal. I was pleasantly surprised because they were tempura battered or beer battered. Looked good. Had a nice cheese pull. I hope they don't start cutting corners and change them for freezer cheese sticks because it's these details that set them apart. My other kid ordered crab legs with garlic sauce and a shrimp cocktail. The crab legs were flavorful and cracked fairly easily. They didn't offer bibs or hand wipes. Don't say I didn't warn you. Now time for the shrimp cocktail. A shrimp cocktail is a big tell on how the rest of the food will be. The sauce was perfectly balanced. It wasn't straight ketchup. The shrimp was perfectly cooked. All of them. Not one overcooked. And let's not forget the avocado. Already in the cocktail with a perfect shrimp to avocado ratio. Generous. Lovely. I love it when I don't have to dig to find avocado or shrimp. My dish was the red snapper a la diabla. Although it was full of flavor the reason I ordered is because I expected heat. They were definitely scared of making it the way it's supposed to be. Hot! No heat at all, my chicken nugget kid tried it and didn't even notice any heat. I wish they could customize the heat level. I make a la diabla sauce at home so I know what to expect. I want that sauce to be so hot I start to have flashbacks. read more

Seafood Shack has been in my bookmark for months so today I did a take out order for lunch. Typically when I drive-by, cars are in the parking lot so I figure the kitchen is kept busy. I ordered two piece catfish with four shrimp and an order of coleslaw. I was impressed with the size of the flattened shrimp. The catfish was too rubbery to me. I didn't enjoy it. I'm very glad that I got the coleslaw to make up for that. Will I go again? Yes. Will I have the catfish again? No. read more

Met a friend here for dinner after work. It was so casual and no fuss and delicious! I had the shrimp enchiladas and my friend had the boiled shrimp and sausage. We each had a marg ($6 on Mondays!) and chilled and talked for 2+ hours. The restaurant inside is nicely laid out , not too loud, and everything just runs very smoothly. You order at the counter, they bring you your food. Simple as that. read more

Y'all.. the margarita (watermelon) was so bomb! This is a great Mexican seafood spot. True I was the only sister there but the vibe was cool. Good was good and drinks were strong. Can't wait to go back. 4 stars tho cause the lady taking my order didn't speak any English and some of the servers so it's hard to communicate and plus you have to go back up to the front to order everything. They don't just take your drink order while you sit down. I had two margs and some shrimp and octopus seafood dish with a spicy red sauce and veggies and rice! Yummy read more

Ordered 1lb shrimp, no head. Mexican cocktail and ceviche. The ceviche was bright and yummy. The boiled shrimp lacked flavor, were way over cooked, and since they weren't split down the back like some seafood boil places do, they had to be cleaned before eaten (you know what I'm talking about and No thanks). The Mexican cocktail was pretty standard, but since I had to clean my shrimp from the boiled option I paid attention to these and guess what, 25% + of them had to be cleaned before eaten as well. This is all well and good if you don't care about eating the shrimp poop (and I know people that do not care), but I do care. So I will try other menu options next time. read more

Super good seafood and drinks in North Dallas. We I walked in Smelled like Cajun seafood heaven. We shared the Shack Jumbo Combo and Okra between two people and it was a perfect amount. It comes with catfish, oysters shrimp (all fried) Get the cajun style, it's the seasoning- great flavor and not salty. The okra is fresh and fried to order, comes out piping hot. All of drinks are made with fresh juices and not syrup- - very strong and the prices are excellent. Local favorite l read more

This is in my neighborhood and I needed catfish. I have lived here for seven years and haven't been in a long time. Yesterday's visit reminded me why. Prices: Fair. Service: I chose drive thru and the employee was very friendly. Food: hush puppies are the premade tube kind that are an abomination that should never be served (do you hear me, Hook, Line, and Sinker?!?). They were lukewarm, which is suboptimal for a fried food. The fries looked like they had potential at one time but were also dead when I received them. The catfish was equally meh temperature wise and the taste was nothing special. I gave up after one filet and let the birds have the rest. It should be noted that when you order at the drive thru, you are asked to pull around and wait in an assigned space (6 in my case, if you'd like to visit). I waited between 5-10 minutes for my food, so it should have been fresh. Alas, no. read more

Came here for lunch and got the 2 shrimp enchiladas special with rice and a sweet tea. It was like $15 before top and the cashier and waitress were both very nice. It's small but they play music and it's a nice little spot. read more

Absolutely terrible customer service. I placed an order online and, when I got home, i realized that they had only given me half my order. I called them and they refused to issue a refund even though they confirmed that they had made an error and failed to include part of my order. They said the only option was for me to come back to the store to pick it up. Aside from the fact that it would have been cold and gross by the time i got there, i had to go to work, so that wasn't an option. Unbelievable that a restaurant would acknowledge their error yet still steal your money. Buyer beware. read more

Used to be great tasting and cheap! Hole in the wall but worth it for the delish food. The problem? It's not so cheap anymore :(. As with everything things have got more expensive the problem is that it's difficutl to justify when Aw Shucks hasn't raised its prices nearly as much and manages to hit the spot when I'm craving ceviche. Also with the shrimp coctkail the last couple of times the shrimp were rubbery and overcooked. read more

Enjoyed dinner with my brother, we both had a pound of their delicious shrimp which was served with a generous amount of potatoes & corn... i also added sausage. However the salmon was a very small portion and not tasty at all (wouldn't recommend) i decided to give a 4 star because the workers are very kind, establishment is clean & shrimp was good. read more

Love this place. Probably my favorite ghetto seafood joints similar to this, like fish shack, aw/big shucks, shuck and jive seafood, etc. I love their specials. They have $2 ceviche tostadas on Monday. $0.30/oyster or $3.60/dozen of oysters on Tuesday. $20 for shrimps and crab legs basket on Wed. Happy hour from 3-7PM, Mon-Fri. Strong and huge margaritas and micheladas for $5.50 during happy hr. I highly recommend all of the specials. Non-happy hr items: Best tartar sauce here. The hushpuppies go so well with the tartar sauce. The mixed seafood stew was ok. It was a little bland. The shrimps flautas were delicious, but my favorite was the shrimps cocktail. Good job on using good quality shrimps, seafood shack. read more

The shrimp flautas were so yummy, cheesy, and golden. Highly recommend. Service was great and was busy but managed to find seating no problem for two. Reasonably priced hole-in-the-wall for seafood! Came in on a weekday for lunch. Pretty busy with the work crowd in, but the food came out fast and was delicious. Had the grilled salmon lunch special + dozen oysters and was satisfied either the quality for the price point. My buddy had the large seafood soup and he enjoyed it. Be sure to look through the pics here before ordering because there aren't any pics on their menu and my buddy was surprised by how big the soup was. Will come again as it is a no frills, come and eat type of place. read more
