Easy place with good parking. They start with a soup (de coditos). Get the pastor. I always get the taco plate(they let you pick and choose 3 different types but my fave is 3 pastor) then a pastor quesadilla and FRIES for the table. Get the caramel churro if with a large group. The kids always ask for it. We have gotten the same waitress almost every time and she is very sweet. They leave water vases at the table so there's always water if you get spicy food. Anyway, when I walked in I was greeted by a nice lady that assumed I was getting it to go as I was a Black face in a sea of brown faces. She handed me a menu and pointed to a seat. They have a lot of options, however, I didn't see carnitas. There is no alcohol. I didn't want a lot of food, so I ordered flautas. I was in for a surprise because I got 5 large flautas; they came with the most seasoned refried beans and rice that I've ever had. The flautas were piping hot. I think this place is underrated. It's a small tiny restaurant/hole in the wall. Only 5 tables inside and two outside. Not good for groups or kids who run around. Only one unisex bathroom for everyone to use. The staff was extremely friendly. A homeless man came in and they gave him free coffee because he couldn't pay. It's a cold day under 40 degrees in Dallas so this was heartwarming to see. I got 4 $2 barbacoa tacos, and black coffee, the green salsa was amazing and the red one was real spicy. But delicious. The black coffee was good, I think it must be a Mexican brand because it doesn't taste like regular Folgers stuff. Reminds me of the hot cocoa drink Mexicans drink -"Chocolate de Abuelita".... The ambience reminds me of an east Los Angeles hole in the wall with the corridos blaring and medio litro cokes flowing. The serve homemade flan and churros as too! I ate the combo plate that featured BBQ spicy shrimp, tenderized chicken & marinated skirt steak on a bed of popping hot bell peppers and onions. The rice was okay, it had flavor but the texture was too dry. The beans were delicious with a pinch of queso cotija. THE TORTILLAS... ***DROOLING*** were A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! The only trouble I have is if I want the verdes or rojos. They are both amazing! The coffee is very good also. Building would be a one star, but the staff is 5 stars all the way and the chilaquiles are 5 stars easy. I know for a fact the food is made fresh and that is why I have chosen this place a few more times. I can understand the lunch rush as well, as to why my plate took a bit longer.
