Recently went while my sister was in town and I'll say that the staff were extremely friendly, the prices were fair but the seasoning is lacking. We ordered a dozen oysters and a pound of crawfish. The crawfish were lacking flavor that we asked for seasoning but the thing about crawfish is the seasoning takes place during the soak so it's not like you can sprinkle a little flavor onto them to make them better. Also not a fan that corn and taters don't come with the crawfish but that's just me. I'd come back and eat an oyster and sit on the patio should I come back but there are so many places you can get this that this shouldn't be an issue.

Catfish

I placed a pickup order and although the food was hot when we got home it was DISGUSTING. I paid $72 dollars for 2 orders of the seafood hush puppies, 2 orders of the chicken and sausage gumbo and 2 orders of the Shucks fried catfish with fries and red beans n rice. The catfish is definitely swai or tilapia. The breading wasn't crispy and it was sweet, it was honestly just gross. The fries were undercooked and unseasoned. The regular hush puppies were extremely dry and the seafood ones just didn't taste good and they had no cornbread in them. They might as well just call them fried seafood balls. The gumbo was nasty and bland. First and last time trying them. Nobody even ate but a few bites of their food. $72 down the drain and I'm still hungry. I literally felt sick eating this because of the taste.

Blackened chicken Cajun Alfredo pasta

Went Sunday for lunch. Not crowded. Not smoky as some reviews say. Great service. Had the blackened chicken Cajun Alfredo pasta, so good!

Red beans and rice add a little hot sauce and you can't go wrong. Kudos for this.

Amazing food amazing service gorgeous day on the patio cannot say enough about this place. Absolutely you must try it and they serve a mean drink. Way to go Shuck m Jive keep up the excellent work

It came in the two separate containers and thankfully i had my own to put them together. Thanks to them for wrapping my bread separately.

I got the gumbo. And it's just OK. I feel like the flavor needs some salt or something and the rice was completely wrong.

Love this neighborhood spot for good food and great spirits. Cold drinks and crispy cat fish nuggets. Kelsey is an amazing mixologist.

ummmm I dont know , I order the fried shrimp basket which the shrimp was definitely over cooked, and more fried than shrimp. the outside area was ok until someone gets to smoking but I get it , its outside. The waitresses were really nice. I may try it again

I sampled. Cajun Carnival. $15 I believe. Red beans and rice Shrimp étouffée Cajun Alfredo pasta Gumbo Jambalaya I had to use a lot of the seasoning provided on the table. Gumbo was my favorite of the 5. Followed by the Cajun Alfredo pasta. Then jambalaya, shrimp étouffée, and red beans and rice (bland). I would order something different next time. I just wanted to try all of them. It's a little crowded on the inside at this SNJ. Bathroom was hot. Staff friendly. PETS are allowed outdoors. I saw a couple of dogs. Live music on Fridays. Open mic and karaoke on certain days! I'll be back. Prob order some pasta this time

I enjoyed what I tried and I do plan to come back for other visits. This is what I tried: 88 sauce: 8/10 medium spice, garlicky, could have more lemon and a hint of sweetness to balance. I do like this sauce and would try again. Lemon pepper sauce: 10/10 I gelt this one was more of the balance I was looking for. It could still use a bit more sweet but to me it is the best one. Garlic sauce: 7/10 if you enjoy a heavy garlic flavor this is the one. Not too bad but not my favorite due to the lack in balance. Garlic noodles: 8/10 the noodles were cooked perfectly. The garlic is present through and through. I did try it with the 88 special sauce. I also added a hint of sweet with chili sauce. The added sauce brought it up to a 10. Eggs: 8/10 basic boiled eggs. Could have been boiled a few less minutes. Got them in the 88 sauce. White clams: 10/10 I enjoy the tender chew of this over the manila clams. I tried these with the lemon pepper sauce. I like the lemon pepper sauce the best with these. Manila clams: 7/10 these are ok, they are more chewy than the white clams. I am glad I tried them to establish the difference. Crab legs: 10/10 well cooked not over cooked. Juicy and fresh. Sausage, corn, potatoes: 10/10 sausage plumb and juicy with a snap. Corn sweet, plump, and perfectly cooked. Potatoes most of them were cooked perfectly and just a few could have cooked a bit longer.

Can't beat all day happy hour on a Sunday! Good seafood and plenty of options to mix and match…read more Garlic noodles were really good and a big portion to share with the table.

We arrived at 2pm and they didn't have the server staff going to full power, but we so enjoyed the art deco environment, food, drinks and staff service overall. Just had to wait a bit here and there for a server to return when we were ready for more drink orders from the bar. All bartenders and servers were very skilled and customer service oriented, Even Coast probably needed one server more or something as it got full by 3 as the hostess had told me. Love the art deco mermaid pins the female staff wore, plus other unique thought out accoutrements. We like to share plates and loved everything we had! The oysters, burrata, smoked clam chowder, yellowtail curd, smoked salmon dip with homemade potato chips, and the fried cod, frites and Cole slaw. Some of us had cocktails- all great, then we all switched to wine, then finished with espresso martini and amazing dessert. Everything was expertly hand crafted (cocktails), and the food expertly prepared so our high praise and compliments to the Chef, Sous, Cooks, Servers, Hostess and Restaurant Manager, who did stop by and check on us. Thanks for a great experience! We'll return!

We also tried the bread pudding and key lime pie for dessert that we really liked. Overall we would definitely return.

Green point seafood and oyster bar is a seafood establishment in the Knox/Henderson area that is…read moreinspired by the sea port city of Cape Town, South Africa, where its owners, the Katz Brothers, grew up. I always see people sitting outside and eating here and it looked intriguing so I decided to try it one evening. For food we ordered the following: Cold Bar: -Smoked Whitefish Dip: this is a horseradish crème fraiche dip, with shredded smoked trout roe blended in, paired with fried serving chips. The dip was flavorful and the texture was lovely considering I've never tried a seafood infused dip like this before. Appetizers: -Roasted Oysters Rockefeller: these oysters are prepared in an unusual way as they are baked or broiled, served with creamed spinach, bacon, and parmesan bread crumbs. Verdict on these oysters is I expected more considering this restaraunt is supposed to be known for their oysters. In my opinion they lacked a bit of flavor, but it may be that I'm not used to eating oysters this way. Soups & Salads: -Seafood Gumbo: this is served with shrimp, jumbo lump crab, andouille sausage, green onion, and rice. I will say I know gumbo is typically pretty salty as a dish overall, but this gumbo was so especially heavy handed on the salt that I wish I had more rice to counteract the sodium levels. Overall however, it was definitely filling, so if you're okay with the salty taste I would definitely try it if you like gumbo. Dessert: -Key Lime Bar: this key lime bar made with graham cracker crust and meringue on top of a key lime filling was pretty great and genuinely solid as dessert choices go. Overall, I'd love to try this place again maybe for brunch and select different things because I think there is good potential despite some items being a bit of a miss for me the first time around.
