Had a nice dinner w friends at Beto and Sons. Edie was an attentive waitress. Love their red salsa, so good. I hogged a whole basket of chips by myself! We ordered the nachos as an appetizer and it truly could have fed the 3 of us. Add the beef fajita meat to it for a real treat. I ordered the torta and it was very good. It came w perfectly fried waffle fries which i devoured. My friends were pleased with their entrees as well. Beto and Sons is in Trinity Groves which is a fun spot to hang on the weekends. Hate to write this review, my wife and I have been coming here for over 6 years and took a break from this side of town. We came back today to see most places are empty in this complex? They now charge for parking when 3/4 of the retail places are out of business. We were excited to get to Betos and son, our server Eric was lackluster in personality and lack of service attention. My wife and I ordered carne asada tortas, when they arrived mine was very rare and cold, Eric never came around to check on us so couldn't alert him to fix or recook the asada meat. After my wife finished he finally asked how everything was, I nicely explained the meet was undercooked and cold and couldn't eat it. He told his manager and nobody came to our table to at-least apologize, nobody offered to just make me another one or at least reheat the portion that was in my plate, poor management customer service, he did offer to take $7.00 off our bill?? I'm still hungry and will go food elsewhere! We were use to seeing this restaurant in past always slammed full/ busy needing reservations but right now it's Saturday evening at 6:40pm and the place is pretty empty! We are never coming back, there are too many other good Tex-Mex in Dallas. So when we sat down, chips and salsa were quick to the table, but now we have been waiting for more than 10 minutes, and we still have yet to get a server for a drink. Ok, finally someone comes from the bar because he noticed us, hmmm... about to try their Margarita swirl strawberry. Now the bean dip is interesting. I was expecting warm, but it's cold, and it's all right, but not for my palate, so the margreta has passion fruit boba balls in it. It was unexpected; it was not my cup of tea, but I could see the fun. So, I am not sure what they are going for the rice, but the flavor is just not it; it looks like more of a fried rice kind of thing. Now the barbacoa casseral, which is what they call it, but they call it enchiladas, is pretty good. I do like the meat and flavor. Now my sister got the fajeta plate; the chicken was good, and the beef was very tender. It also came with a side of rice and beans. She said the beans were good, but maybe could use a bit more flavor. Now, the one thing that I did not like is that they put the cup of beans on top of the rice, which did not look very presentable. Overall, this was an interesting place. I feel like it has asian incorporation, even though the waiter said no, but you can tell because also on the menu, they had noodle bowls. This place is top-notch and I absolutely love it right at the Trinity! You can never go along with 1 ordering their chicken tortilla soup which I'm a huge fan of how they bring it out! You really can just fill up on this whole thing it is super flavorful and very hearty! I absolutely love it and have had it over a few times each time that I've gone! The cool thing about here is that you can sit out on the patio or you can sit on the inside or up at the bar! The ambience is super nice and it has so many cool things all around it and a huge selection of tequila which will not disappoint! The past few times that we went all of the servers have been very nice to us, ensuring that our food comes out piping hot and that our orders are accurate each time! I must say that this is a gym that's hidden the price is a little up there, but I will say that the quality is totally worth it! Our group came here and immediately greeted and sat (surprisingly fast on a Sunday brunch) the server was so quick with everything and patient with our large group. The tenderloin was perfectly cooked (pink in the center) and tender, but the broth and noodles were just pure salt. All of their menus are digital and it consists of the staple dishes of a Mexican restaurant, made with premium ingredients. We shared the tenderloin nachos and carnitas tamal. This was a perfect amount for 3 people. I loved that the nachos were individually dressed, so we get all the flavors in every bite. They give you loads of pico, guac and sour cream to top them off. The outside dining experience was nice for a table of 5. A but loud but football preseason is here so understandable for Texas. The chorizo con queso was to die for. Savory rich and a unique pairing. We ordered the table-side guacamole which was pretty standard guacamole ingredients but what made it so delicious was the freshness of all the ingredients. We both got a nitrogen frozen pina colada which came with a little show as well since they make it in front of you. The pina colada was delicious and creamy. I would definitely recommend it! Finally I got an order of the chicken fajitas and my friend got the carne asada tacos. We were both already so full from the chips and dips but we could not stop eating since the food was so good! Coming from DC on a buisness trip we were looking for a Mexican restaurant and came across this one and I'm So glad we picked it. As soon as you enter your being greeted with smiles. This restaurant is busy so make sure you make your reservations, our wait was for an hour but we ended up waiting for 20 minutes and we were seated. I would've have waiting 2 hours just to taste the delicious food. We ordered 3 appetizers sadly we all god super full and weren't able to order our entrees. Our waiter was super nice, everyone here is super helpful, we didn't wait for absolutely anything. You needed a refill our waiter was there, chips you had someone there in seconds, Please make sure you come on an empty stomach the food is delicious and you'll need some space to taste it all. I wish this restaurant was back home I honestly would be in it every other day. We originally found this place because we were looking for a place that has Salsa dancing nights. Unfortunately, they don't have salsa nights until spring, which makes sense because its pretty chilly. We still went, either way. We came on a Wednesday evening and there were plenty of parking. We really like the vibe of the place. It looked so festive and has lots of lights around the trinity groves. I would have loved to eat outside if it wasn't so cold. They do have outdoor heaters so it didn't look so bad. It is pretty pricey. We got the Pina colada nitro which is $21. It was pretty cool since they make it in front of you so you see the whole process. The mango boba that they serve on top was also very good with it! I got adventurous and I was glad I did because the Salmon noodle bowl is very unique and delicious. The salmon was nice and crisp on top and has really good flavor, while the flavorful sauce drenching the noodles was perfectly seasoned. My husband got the torta cabana which he said was okay. It was huge so we take half of the portion home. I enjoyed my food, however, my husband was disappointed because he was looking forward to a cheap, traditional Mexican food spot. I also liked the rice. It had flavor but didn't give you that bloated feeling that Spanish rice can sometimes do. Overall, the food was better than I expected. And it hit the spot just right! I ate at the bar, and the bartenders were hustling making drinks nonstop. I was waited on promptly and my food was delivered in a timely manner. But the bartenders aren't really available for chit chat as they are quite busy. For a solo diner the bar was good. If I went with a group I would probably want to sit outside (weather permitting) as it seemed to have a really cool vibe out there.
