Corn Tacos
Jordan L.

I was in Dallas for a wedding and my GF asked where I wanted to eat and my first request was authentic Mexican street tacos. This is the place she found and it was spot on. I did three corn tortilla street tacos. I went with two shredded beef and one chorizo. Everything was so flavorful the people were nice it was an all around great experience. Also got a side of refried beans that were good. The inside was just a skinny walk in with a kind of stand of shelf you could lean on to eat with a few seats, but they had plenty covered seating outside. If I ever find myself in Dallas again I'll be right back here.

Before heading to Dallas I was searching for a small hole in the wall authentic taco place to visit and stumbled across this restaurant. I'm glad I found it because the food was great! We ordered at the counter and our food was ready in less than 10 minutes. I got a barbacoa and a carnitas taco on corn tortillas. It came with a delightful green salsa that they said was mild but it had a kick. The tortillas were so flavorful and the meats were delicious. I devoured the tacos and we also got a side of refried beans to share that were the best refried beans I've ever had. There are only 3 stools inside, but there are a few tables outside for seating. I wish we had more time to go back for some more tacos.

It's been awhile since I've been able to find a place that reminds me of the street tacos I grew up with back in CA. I'm not much of a Tex-Mex person, so it's been a little far and few in between since we've lived in TX where we've been able to find actual street tacos that we actually liked. This place did not disappoint! Thanks to the power of social media, this was a high recommended place and the best part... we didn't have to wait until noon to enjoy tacos! Although their hours said 10am, be prepared to wait a little while because it doesn't seem like they were quite prepared at 10am. I had placed an online order and it said it would be ready for pick up by 10:30, and unfortunately we didn't get our food until close to 11. Nonetheless, the food made up for it. We an order of the Chicken Flautas which were delicious! It's loaded with fresh veggies and their salsa paired perfectly with it. Then of course got the street tacos (Cabeza, Pastor, Mix Fajita & Bistek, and Tripas y Lengua). All were amazing! They did not skimp on the meat, and I love that we didn't have to request for fresh onions & cilantro like we've had to do in the past. Meats Ranked from Best to Least: 1. Tripas y Lengua 2. Cabeza 3. Pastor 4. Fajita & Bistek Regardless of their rank, we will most definitely be back for more delicious tacos!

So glad I finally made the drive over here! I got the lengua and the barbacoa on corn. I was so impressed with how tender all of the meat was, and the tacos were pretty filling for street tacos. The salsas were spicy and flavorful as well! Our cashier was very kind and helpful. Our food took a bit longer to come out than I was expecting but I think a big order was placed just before I got there. There are only three seats inside the very small restaurant but they have lots more semi-covered outdoor seating that is fine once the weather cools down a bit. I will definitely be back!!

Was in the area and decided to try out Mami Coco. It's small little spot with seating outside, prices range from $1.99-$3.50 depending if you want corn or flour. Ordered the tripas and asada, they were pretty tasty topped with cilantro and onion. The hot sauces they came with were definitely spicy.

Hole in the wall Mexican place with some of the best food. It has an authentic feel to it that is great. I always get the enchiladas because they are so good it is hard to try anything else.

I went to Dallas to visit a friend and whilst on the plane, I scoured the internet for the best tacos Dallas has to offer. I found this place and was pleasantly surprised to see that they've won a multitude of awards for their cuisine. Now mind you, it's a hole in the wall. Super tiny. But that doesn't matter at all. Everything is made fresh to order and everything I tried was AMAZING. I went 3x while I was there and tried their chicken tacos, chicken quesadillas, chicken burritos, and barbacoa tacos. The ingredients were all fresh and I was so happy that the chicken was packed with flavor. Now, I'm not really a red meat eater. I asked the staff if they have a a specific meat that is most popular and they recommended the barbacoa. I ordered those tacos and was sooooo glad I did. The barbacoa meat was so tender and delicious. I wish I could go back for more. This will forever more be my go to taco spot whenever I visit Dallas. The awards and recognition they have received are well deserved! And a big thank you to the staff (including Gustavo the manager) for their kindness, patience, and hard work.

Came in for a bite to eat. It is a cute place. The outside has a cute mural on the outside. They only have outside seating but it is covered. You can only order inside and they have a few chairs to wait for your food. The food is yummy and filled up. Really good place to stop and eat. We had sopes, street tacos, and sweet empanadas. The container said fresa but they were really piña, but they were still very good.

Tacos with Exotic Meats Sopes

Delicious food! Service excellent! And taste of music very well! Me quedo con las ganas de regresar a Dallas to try more food!

Small quaint location located by a station. The inside is quite small with just three seats in a bar style sitting. The outside does have a small gazebo with benches. We ate in the car. Down to the food... it is amazing. Authentic style food. The kitchen is open so you can see them preparing your food. Red sauce is very spicy, green sauce is more subtle with spice. Will definitely be returning

Not very clean environment. Customer service was lacking. Only reason I came here was from a YouTube channel from years ago.

There are multiple locations in DFW, and this review is for the Chilangos in Dallas off of Ross. My Overall Rating - 5 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - The two Chilangos locations I've been to are both located in strip malls with a bright, neon "Chilangos Tacos" sign above the entrance. Inside, there's reggaeton music, tons of patrons, and ESL here. Once you place your order, grab a Jarritos, a bright red metal seat, and watch the staff cook your tacos to order. 1 Star. Service - The staff are very friendly and efficient. It really helps if you speak Spanish, so go with someone who does, or point to the menu item you want. Once you place your order, grab a seat and wait for your name to be called. The staff is super nice and efficient, and our order was available in about 5 min. 1 Star. Food - Birria Quesatacos with consume. Memorize it and order it. Kudos to my son who swears by this dish. I am now a believer. The tender seasoned shredded birria beef is so flavorful. The quesataco style melts the cheese into the corn tortilla. And when you take some diced onion and cilantro to top it, dunk it in the consume before biting into the most flavorful taco served in DFW. According to the menu, this dish is only available on the weekend, but I've used food deliver services to get my consume fix during the week so YMMV. Bottom line, it's not just the best item on the menu, it's the best taco bite in all of DFW. 2 Stars. Will I Return? - Yes. Chilango Tacos is expanding in DFW. There are now multiple locations in all of DFW so there should be a location near you. Chilangos Tacos is now in my weekly rotation. 1 Star.

It's a trendy, energetic pocket of Dallas that I had somehow never explored before, and it immediately caught my attention. The restaurant itself is quite unassuming. If I'm being honest, it didn't exactly scream "come on in." On this particular night, there was only one employee working. It took nearly 10 minutes just to place my order and another 15 minutes before the food arrived. By that point, I was more than a little annoyed. Then the tacos showed up. Talk about a complete plot twist. Not only was everything beautifully presented, but the flavors were absolutely unbelievable. Whenever I visit a taco spot, I like to order a variety so I can get a sense of what they're really capable of. This time it was the al pastor, carne asada, and Baja tacos. One word....incredible. I can't tell you which one was best! I've had great tacos before. I've had places nail one or two selections. But I honestly can't remember the last time three completely different tacos all delivered a perfect punch in a single sitting. Every bite was packed with flavor, expertly balanced, and memorable in its own way. Without question, this was the best taco trio I've ever had. What a roller coaster of a visit. I went from feeling completely ignored and wondering if I'd made a mistake, to wanting to walk back into the kitchen and hug the chef. Sometimes great food doesn't just redeem an experience--it completely rewrites it. The Taco stand is GOATED

The tacos here are always so delicious! Such a unique location, right in the middle of Dallas.read more

Fuel City used to be a reliable local staple for a quick meal, but it has completely gone downhill…read more It has always been sketchy due to being right next to the jail, but it used to at least be tolerable for a cheap, late night bite. Now, there is absolutely zero reason to pull in here. Between the sketchy crowd, overpriced convenience store items, and garbage food safety, it is a complete rip off. I actually like their tacos, but the price increases have made them completely not worth it anymore. Eating 7 tacos pushes you over $20, which is sit down restaurant territory for some quick grab and go food. For the price of each taco, you will get two layers of tortilla with a sprinkle of meat and onion. Let's do the math: for the price of just two of these tacos, I can go to In N Out and get a Double Double. That gets me two 100% pure beef patties packing 37 grams of actual protein, and I will leave completely full. What am I supposed to do with two Fuel City tacos? Use them to fill the spaces between my teeth? Also, skip the snacks inside. They price gouge like crazy! Sometimes nearly 2x what you would pay at 7-Eleven or Tom Thumb (which are not even cheap to begin with). Last time I checked, a bag of Hot Cheetos here was 6 bucks! For perspective, they are $3.97 at Walmart and $4.79 at Target. It is a total rip off. The final straw was the horchata. I bought two cups at 6:00 PM, drank one, and put the second straight into the fridge. By midnight, it had completely curdled and turned sour. It was clearly spoiled and at the end of its shelf life when sold, and it gave me a case of the runs later that night. This place survives solely on ancient hype, out of town truck drivers, transients who do not know the area, and nighttime biker meet ups. No local should pay a massive premium for gas station tacos and food poisoning when authentic neighborhood taquerias and actual burger joints offer real value for a less money.
