It was hot, it was yummy it was delivered with awesome service by Tami (my car hop!!). The fries? They were hot and awesome. Watch out on those fries...let em cool a bit. This was one of my places to go ahead and try and Dylan recommended this place so I decided yesterday to go and try it. It does have an old vibe to it with the people go to you to order the food. There are many cars outside and was worried that it would take awhile. The servers come to you and you order through their tablet. I had to take a minute, but you have to make sure you have your blinkers on and they will come to you. I ordered the following #5 Special with bacon #1 The best burger and then the cheese fries I got the order within 10 minutes and did not take too long. Once they deliver the food to you, I paid through credit card and then you can tip them so I gave them an 18% tip as they were nice and serve the food to me. The food is very messy and oily so make sure you bring some hand sanitizer. They packed in a lot of napkins as well. The burger itself was just alright, was a little cold for me though so not so sure how long it was waiting. The lettuce and tomato was a little on the soggy side. The meat itself was just alright. When I ate it, I did not experience the wow factor. I can not complain about the price however. Was in the area and saw this place had good reviews so I stopped by for the usual combo - burger, fries and shake. I was greeted within a few minutes and the waitress was very accommodating, no complaints there. The retro vibe was a nice touch as well. The interesting thing with this place is that the food is pretty mediocre while being extremely cheap. You can get a whole meal for less than $10 so I'd say there is good value here. But prices aside, I'd rather have a burger from a fast food joint. The quality just wasn't there for me. If you want extra bang for your buck, this is the place! Apparently this was the first drive in burger restaurant! You stay in your car when you drive up, and a staff member comes up to you to take your order (pretty quickly). You aren't allowed to bring lawn chairs, but you can sit in your trunk to eat if you don't want to sit in the car. I was surprised to see that the prices are still quite cheap, $5 ish for one burger. The burger was quite large and filling and the fries and tots were very crispy. FYI- you can sub your raw onions for grilled onions for free. I would come again! read more

Went to Kellers drive in yesterday which a lot of people know is my favorite by far. And the food was great as ever. But something was different about going there yesterday. We had a hard time getting service which in over 40 years of eating at various Kellers drive ins I have never had before. We sat at one end of the drive in for about 30 minutes and none of the girls ever came out. A few other people sat there for a while too and they were driving off because no one came out. So we saw a lady coming out and taking orders on the other side so we moved over there hoping she would wait on us. And again we waited. In about 10 more minutes a truck pulled up beside us and she came out pretty quickly and waited on him. And as she was leaving to go back in I hollered excuse me ma'am could we order and she came over and said we were not in her section but she went ahead and took our order. My husband and I laughed and said I think we are invisible. It was kind of comical for us. A little later a car came up on the other side of us and another carhop came right out. This makes me think I have found the forbidden spot at Kellers. lol It is just a funny story. But we eventually got our order and ate our burgers. I really wanted to like Keller's, especially with all the nostalgia and hype surrounding it -- but unfortunately, it was a huge letdown. The burger was the biggest disappointment. The patty was so thin it barely registered as meat, and what little I could taste had absolutely no flavor. It was dry, bland, and felt more like a topping than the main part of the burger. The bun was basic and didn't do anything to elevate the experience, and the cheese (if you can call it that) added nothing but an oily texture. I expected something classic and crave-worthy, but it just felt like a cafeteria burger that somehow cost more than it should have. For all the talk about Keller's being "cheap and old-school," I was surprised that it wasn't even that affordable. Whataburger, which is often brushed off as "fast food," is actually way better -- more flavor, more substance, and at least you know what you're getting. The atmosphere felt outdated, but not in a charming or retro way -- just run-down. Maybe it's a place people love for sentimental reasons, but if you're going for the food alone, it's not worth the trip. I wouldn't go back. There are way better burger spots in DFW. read more

My family has been going to killers since the original one open on Harry Hines. They have gone through some changes over the years, of course but cheap greasy burgers I'm aNo 8 girl from way back. we enjoy going up there and sitting with the windows rolled down and it may have gotten a little rougher that area around it but great place to go. since I've moved. You just park at an empty spot under the shade, flash blinkers for service or whenever you're ready to order, and someone will come out to take your order. Super fun time! I love how the prices are super low, but the quality is just killer. You order from your car by flashing your lights, order off of a placard on the building and it's out to you in 10 minutes tops. Huge onion slices, crisp pickles and thick pieces of tomato. Man... I hate to do this because this has been a favorite of mine since I was able to eat real food. My parents brought us here for all of my childhood. I ate here about two years ago and it was what I remembered. Yesterday was a different story. We went in the afternoon and it was not busy. Our server was new and was VERY great and very friendly. I noticed that the price of tots with cheese is now $3.85... almost the same price as my burger. Why?! Oh well, I ordered anyways. My burger wasn't juicy like it used to be and the bread was sort of mush. The tots with cheese... just look at the picture. I opened my to-go box and said to my husband, "they can't be serious..." his looked the same way too. I sent them back and another piece of cheese was added and properly melted but why ever send the food out like this in the first place?! A quarter slice of cheese and it's not even melted? I heard about this on YouTube, so I went there to see what the hub·bub was all about. So, we took that 30 minute drive to Dallas. To be honest, this place did not disappoint. The fries and tater tots were crispy and fresh, the burgers were also really delicious and freshly made. This was one of the best burgers I have had in the longest time. We had the No.5 double, double, cheese burger and cheese burger double. Other than distance this place is worth the drive and will put any hamburger chain to shame even the more popular ones and you can't beat the price.
