Oh my, I see that my last review of this place was in 2009. I would have sworn that I wrote an update since then, so maybe it disappeared as many reviews do. Anyway, it is time for an update. This location is on the way home so it has become one of my favorite burger joints. The patty itself is very thin, maybe even thinner than McDonalds or Burger King, but the flavors with the mustard, lettuce, tomato, onion, and the seasoning powder make this burger very tasty. The fries are among the best in Dallas. Always crispy, a very generous portion, and that seasoning powder puts them over the top. Service is fast. You order at the counter and they call your name. It usually is not more than few minutes. Ambience is historic. You can imagine that in the 1960s and 1970s this place was cool. Today, not much has changed so it is more historic than cool. It feels like a burger joint. My main critique is that the price for the single burger and fries has really gone up. I remember, not too long ago, that the burger, fries and drink were under $10. This most recent visit, October 2025, it was over $13. The burger has not gotten bigger (but neither has it gotten smaller). I understand that prices go up, but I enjoyed the old prices more. read more

Although drive thru line was wrapped around the building the service was fast. It's kinda cold outside so French fries and hotdogs with chili, cheese, mustard and onions fits the bill. Big 100% all beef hotdog filled the bun end to end. Note: they load up, not kidding, with onions so if you don't want a lot, tell them to go light. Delicious, fast meal. Solid 4 star. Personally, I know it's probably blasphemy for some of you, I prefer shake shack to this spot. The local mom and pop feel does win for me though! Service is great and food is decent. I'm not a huge fan of the buns as they are a little harder and not the soft gooey you get at some spots. The patties themselves also are a little on the dry side but they do the job. The kids menu is a decent deal since it comes with fries and a drink. A double burger runs about $9 which I guess is about par as if the date of writing this review (still seems a little pricier to me). Preface: I have lived most of my life in Dallas and for some reason have never tried Burger House. I have always meant to stop by but it just never came to mind. Well, today was the day. One of the worst burgers I have ever eaten in my life! This place makes any fast-food burger chain of choice taste like a gourmet burger. Yes, even you McDonald's. The beef patty was super thin, gray-tinged, a bit rubbery/tough, and dry. The actual burger tasted more like a lettuce, pickle, and mustard sandwich on a sesame seed bun. I ate half the burger hoping the middle would improve and maybe have some flavor or be less dry... This was not the case. The burger remains were thrown in the trash. Also, the onion rings were WAY too salty. At first I was pleased to see the onion rings were beer battered instead of breaded cornmeal but the added salt ruined it. These onion rings had potential - just leave off the salt and pepper for the customer to add if they choose. Based on the quality and taste of the food I cannot recommend eating here and will not be back. I guess there was a reason I never tried this place but now I know. read more

Visited 12/20/2023. Was craving a Zoe's Chicken and some seasoned fries so ordered them from the drive thru along with a strawberry malt. The malt was pretty good and the Zoe's Chicken was as good as it's always been. However, the seasoned fries were not so seasoned and a little less than crispy. The fries were fairly hot so I assumed they must've been fresh but just missed getting the correct/any amount of seasoning on them. Kind of a bummer since that's kind of what they are known for. If I dined in I would have asked for seasoning but didn't know until I got home. This is the second time this has happened with their fries. Over the past few months, the hamburgers had gone down in quality of meat served but we are glad to update as of this week - our good local hamburgers have RETURNED. The quality of 4 orders was back to great, cooked well and meat was very good. Kid's meals are ample for an adult and they do not mind your ordering them for adults - which is nice for a lighter meal and/or senior in your group. Family friendly - games provided for minimum cost in back to enjoy while adults enjoy their meal. Staff is nice, handling requests - additions very well. I was in the area and looking for something different than regular fast food. I came across Burger House and they had mixed reviews but wanted to give them a shot. It's an old very established burger joint. I think the sign said in business since 1951. I was pretty impressed with the drive thru line at lunch hour. Maybe 15 minutes max and there was about 6 cars ahead of me. I ordered a double cheeseburger and the onion rings. Lots of reviews talked about the fries and their seasoning but I prefer onion rings. Total was $11 which is about average pricing. I snuck an onion ring while o was driving back to work and was very impressed. It seems their seasoning goes on the rings too. Very good and don't appear to be frozen. The burger was just mediocre honestly. The bun was falling apart and I started eating my lunch 5 minutes after picking it up. I didn't expect much coming here which is why you should never judge a book by it's cover. The quality of the food is AMAZING! Everything is fresh and came out so hot. The chili cheese fries were packed with cheese and chili! It was a lot of everything! They were not greedy at all! The double cheeseburger was so good with all the toppings , the bread was so soft and the meat! You could tell it was like fresh meat not the frozen kind. The star of the show to me was the Zoe's chicken sandwich supreme!!! I've never had a chicken sandwich so good! The Swiss cheese was all melted and gooey! The chicken was seasoned and juicy!!! This visit is not about the Food. My husband and I were the first customers in @ the 11 am opening today. After ordering our food , I went to the ladies restroom. I noticed a cell phone was left in the bathroom stall. It began it vibrate, a heard a lady outside the stall say " oh good my phone is in there. I opened the door, she grabbed her phone and left. Since she was the last person in the stall, your employee , the only thing I can say is "this is NOT ok. I understand good help is hard to find in the past few years. But this is NOT acceptable.
