    Chicken sandwich combo -$10
    Chrissy S.

Friendly service, great burgers / chicken sandwiches and a variety of other sandwiches, with a comfortable and casual inside with plenty of seating. Such a convenient place to go to if you're downtown. Prices are super reasonable. A burger and fries and a drink for $10. (See pic)

My friends told me this place was called Church burger. Divine & Cheese sandwich. Think about the menu naming possibilities here. Holey Guacamole Burger (who doesn't like avacado on their burger? Halleluau Burger ( teriyaki and pineapple anyone?) Hellfire hot (throw some habanero on) Communion Chicken (Basic Chix Sandwich) But no ..... Nope nope nope. All we got was burger or cheese burger. Sigh OK. It's a pretty respectable burger. Nothing special. I got a side of sweet potato fries. Asked for ranch when picking up my food and was told it's an upcharge. I had half a mind to pull out my card and tell them to upcharge the 65 cents to that but I did have change and I was hungry. Seriously if you're going to serve anything that is traditionally dipped with ranch can you please put a sign by your cashier or train them to inquire if customers would like any sauce or dip. I don't mind paying but I do hate the looks you invariably get when the staff seems to think you're trying to get something for free. So yeah since most of my review isn't talking about the food that should be your clue that it's fine, nothing special, that is if the 3 stars didn't already give it away. If you're in the neighborhood and craving a decently priced burger this is fine. I wouldn't plan on making any special trips for it.

My co-workers and I came in for a quick bite. I had the St. Paul burger and made it a combo (drink and SWEET POTATO fries). $10 and done. The burger was good, bun had a nice buttery touch to it and the sweet potato fries were excellent. Hard to find a nice clean spot to have a burger and fries for $10. I'll be back.

This is by far the furthest place I have come for lunch, but could not pass up a Jesus Burger. First off I'm probably the only dum-dum who would think a parking garage in downtown Dallas would be free on a weekday at noon, but when I was looking up directions on the Dallas Baptist website it said FREE PARKING. That would be affter 7pm on Wednesdays. Duh. It was still just $2 so no biggie. We arrived right at noon and the place was pretty full, and there were several people in line to order. We were able to find a table right away, though. MeganS was not kidding about the burger being greasy. It is. I ordered the sweet potato fries with my cheeseburger. I have to say it was a good cheap burger. The fries were great too. Since I live pretty close to this place I can see myself popping in for lunch on a Sunday.

Small cafe located inside the First Baptist Dallas Church, tasty food with reasonable prices! For breakfast they offer, breakfast tacos, and for lunch an array of burgers and sandwiches. I've had their caramel iced coffee, good, but I like my coffee super sweet so I added like 5 mini cups of creamer. Breakfast tacos are a great deal. $4, for two tacos (bacon and egg or sausage) Grilled cheese and you can pick sweet potato or regular fries. Decent price, great place if you're looking for a quick lunch or to stop and study (they have free wifi).

Before meeting with some First Dallas associates, our team ate a quick lunch here. They were all experienced guests here, but I greatly enjoyed my first time! All of the food is reasonably priced, the food is made quickly, and the hospitality is friendly and warm. The burger was cooked perfectly and the veggies were fresh! The sweet potato fries were excellent and great with a little salt and pepper. The drink selection is a little small, but overall, I would most definitely recommend this place to all those in the downtown area needing a cheap, yet quality lunch!

This unassuming restaurant tucked in a corner of nondescript row of stores has stood the test of time. My first review of the place was in 2013. Here it is 13 years later then it is still going strong. I went for lunch with the family on a snow day. You order at the counter and they bring it to your table. No numbers, they just remember who you are. I always get combo number 1 and add sweet potato fries. The prices are great and not much more than McDonalds but the difference in value is significant. The burgers are not thick but this time I noticed the double burger (#2) is just a couple of bucks more than the the single patty in #1. Note to self for next time. Although the patty is thin, the flavors work. The burger comes with lettuce, tomato, onion, and mustard. No ketchup, you add that yourself. The bun with sesame seeds always comes out piping hot. Sweet potato fries are crispy and not greasy. The combo comes with a drink for $10.99. That's a deal. I hope they stay in business another 13 years!

The patties are juicy, the buns are toasted perfectly, and everything tastes fresh and made with care. You can tell they are not trying to be trendy. The neighborhood may continue to change around it, but Chip's remains the same. My Overall Rating - 4 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - Chip's has an old school, nostalgic feel. The restaurant has an iconic sloping roof with a yellow outdoor exterior and a big green sign with its logo. Inside, there are plenty of booths, a bar, and even outdoor seating. Chip's has grown and expanded over the years but to me that adds to the nostalgic charm. 1 Star. Service - Chip's may have invented counter service. Upon entering, you look at the menu posted on the wall and place your order. You'll get a number (or they'll ask for your name), and you grab a table, and when your food is ready it comes out. Fast, efficient, and the staff was super friendly. 1 Star. Food - Chip's is known for its poppy seed hamburger buns. While it's pretty and tasty, the most important part, the patty, is pretty average. Honestly, there are many other great burger joints in Dallas. On the other hand, the fried onion strings are a must order for your side. While I wasn't a fan of the burger, the fried onion strings saved my meal. The Oreo and Fresh Banana shakes were also a nice cold, creamy, sweet ending to my meal. 1 Star. Will I Return? - Yes. I hope Chip's never changes. The restaurant has an iconic look, it's part of Dallas history, and the staff is great. 1 Star.

We ordered the fried mushrooms to start, and they were so hot that one of us severely burned her lower gums on them. Seriously! A prescription from the dentist was sought; mea culpa but damn. Once they were less volcanic, they were good. We split a burger with fried onions, and it was dry. The meat was overbooked, the bun was over toasted, and the whole thing needed plenty of beer to go down smoothly. The fries are fine, and we did appreciate that they had some steamed broccoli on the menu. Our daughter was happy with her kids cheeseburger meal, and she did like the chocolate-caramel malt shake she scored at the end. A main reason that we're landing on three stars is the ice cream situation. One of us ordered a soft serve vanilla, and nobody told her that the machine was down, so what she got instead was a cup of half melted Blue Bell soup...are you kidding! Thanks for the prompt refund, but letting your customer know what the situation is in advance goes a long way. So, we tried it. Add a notch to the Dallas belt. We wish them well, but we won't be returning. There are better burgers in DFW.
