Maybe this was a bad day but the owner was very rude to everyone. She was literally yelling at the new trainee. They may have been a family member but she was literally screaming at everything he did and he was so nice. She also screamed at me because I showed her the lids didn't fit the cups and she told me to keep trying different cups until it fit and she doesn't know what else she expected her to do about it. I got there close to 1pm so it was past lunch rush. It took them some time to get the food ready. I don't usually mind that. What I did have an issue with is when a regular who hard ordered the same item as me was given the food ahead of me even though I had ordered before he did. The guy manning the cash register did apologize to me when he realized I noticed it. I guess on one hand it's great to hook up your people, just don't do it when the other party is around to notice. I don't hold it against them but it's enough that I won't be coming back. All that said I did get a solid burger. I got the daily special which was mushroom and swiss. I got a nice layer of melted cheese melted on top along with a side of fires. Topped it off with the accoutrements of choice from the toppings bar and tapatio. The bread was good but I don't get the hype. It's nice bread, end of story. So good yes but not enough to bring me back after my experience. If you get hungry in the middle of work this place is a close walk! right next to the dart rail as well so it's super convenient! they take their orders at the counter and you wait for them to call your number! Anyways, my bacon cheeseburger was outstanding as burgers go. The buns are made fresh. I didn't know I was a fan of hamburger buns but they were good. You order, they give you the meats, bun, & fries. You then go and dress your food as you see fit. If you're familiar with Fuddruckers, then it's similar to that. The facility is medium size. I believe take out orders are a large part of their clientele. So that makes sense. There hours are peculiar to me. They close at 2:30pm everyday and are closed on Saturday & Sunday. I'm assuming this place is jam packed during the lunch rush. You know what they say about assuming but in this case I think I'm safe. This gem of a café and bakery in Dallas is absolutely worth a visit... Or two or three.... We stopped in one evening with a tour group - Dallas by Chocolate (Dallasbychocolate.com). We were trying desserts that were fabulous. The bakery there is one I wish was closer to my home. All kinds of goodies and breads and pies. They also have an extensive café menu. Delicious! I had the best veggie burger I've ever had. My sister ordered the Thursday lunch special which was a grilled chicken sandwich meal that came with fries and a drink. My brother ordered literally the most expensive thing on the menu, a double cheeseburger meal which cost 10.99. They serve the food dry and plain and you take it to the bar and dress it yourself. The woman gave me an extra cup even thought I didn't pay for 3, only 2 so thank her for that! Bathrooms required a code, just ask an employee. The flavor was AMAZING! I work 30 secs from this establishment. I went for the first time today and order a Crispy Chicken sandwich. I asked what came on it she said Onions, Lettuce, Tomato, and Pickles. I said that was fine and added avocado to the order. I step pitied while the food is coming and come back in to find cheese on the sandwich (it's not listed on the menu and she didn't mention when I asked what was on it). Despite that, I apologized (even though I did nothing wrong) and asked is there a way to get another order. She proceeds to rudely yell and Blame me saying all Crispy sandwiches come with cheese (as a chicken sandwich connoisseur I know this is false), and instead of remaking it forces me to receive a refund (I'm also African American for context). Needless to say, I won't be stopping by here ever again and wouldn't encourage anyone else too. Idc how The food looks it ain't worth the disrespect. I am BEYOND upset with my First experience at this restaurant. Today, I ordered a late breakfast: a French toast and sausage, with a hash brown via Door Dash. I paid $16 total for the whole order and I am sad to say it wasn't worth $10!!! My French Toast slices were soggy as I don't know what, my sausages were OLD and rubbery; over cooked and dried out to the point it was tough. The ONLY thing I enjoyed was the small hashbrown patty that was lukewarm! I will NEVER eat at this cafe again and I would suggest not wasting your money as well.
