    Bacon Cheese Grilled Fresh Jalepeo
    Dustin U.

Today I had my usual Bacon Cheese Grilled Fresh Jalepeo 1/2lb burger. As usual it didn't disappoint. My dietitian and personal trainer will not be happy, but I am! They also have good salads which my partner enjoys, but if you want an honest to goodness hole in the wall greasy burger, this is the best place in East Dallas! Only a few stools to sit on, so it's more of a to-go experience, but it doesn't take too long. If you call ahead odds are it'll be hot and ready in 10-15 most days.

    Fries were great burger sucked.

Old School fries were a 10! The burger sucked. Precooked reheated burger granted I got the 1/4 pound and not the 8oz but the bun to meat ratio was sad. And I love bread. Device was good. It's small so if it's busy plan on taking it out to eat.

Maaaaaaaaan. Do yourself a favor and come get a burger here! "The best burger behind bars." There isn't much seating if you want to eat here. That is okay. I ordered a half pound bacon cheeseburger with grilled jalapeños. It was hot, fresh, and fast. The picture doesn't capture the quality or flavor. Daniel, Maria, and Chris were awesome. Amazing staff. Y'all earn your ratings. Thank you. I'll definitely swing back when I'm in town again.

I asked for extra onions so my burger was off but omg! Bacon cheeseburger w extra onions! delish!!

Must try! Heard about this place and thought, why not. It did not disappoint!! From the staff that was on point to the food & the Mexican Coke they had too! Will come again! Not pictured were nuggets that were 10/10!

First time here and the people and service are awesome! Not many places to sit, but it still feels cozy and welcoming. The chicken salad was to die for, very well seasoned and the fried egg and cheese added to the flavor. The 1/4 burger was huge...I will try that next time! I don't know how I missed this spot before.

We hadn't had food from Harvey B's in a long time and it sounded so good to us. I called to place the order and was put on hold for over five minutes, then was hung up on. I called right back and was sent to answering with a full mailbox. Then called again and no one picked up. So I ordered online, a BBQ bacon burger and a Chili burger, Jalapeno Poppers and tots. Two of the poppers were so small hubby mistook them for tots. I tasted one and didn't finish it. Not good. Husband got order and brought it home and both of our buns were burned and my burger patty was burned, dried out, and tough enough that I had trouble cutting it with a sharp knife. I ate less than half and was done. Hubby didn't eat it all either and threw it away. The original owner must have sold this place because it was soo good but now it is abysmal. We are not going back. Awful!

What a wonderful find! This place isn't in the most savory side of town but it houses some of the best burgers you will ever eat. Walked in and was greeted by a friendly and personable young man behind the counter. He quickly explained the ins and outs of the menu and put us all at ease. Behind him you could see the kitchen staff at work making old school burgers. Nothing fancy, just good ingredients put together with care and passion. He recommended their onion rings and they were divine, crispy, battered not breaded and full of flavor. The burgers were made to order, juicy, hot and delicious. Drinks include craft options and the strawberry lemonade was spot on. The only downside of this place was a lack of seating but that was minimal given the goods.

I have NO CLUE how this place got good reviews . Our food was literally inedible. Pics tell the bulk of the issues and we ended up throwing most of our food away. From bits and ends for fries to burned chicken. Burned buns. Strawberry lemonade tasted like sugar water. Absolutely DISGUSTING

Harvey Bs has been on my Hamburger hit list for several years now. It meets all my criteria(supported by Yelp reviews) of an old-school, hole-in-the-wall, delicious burger value. Simply stated it's a 4-star experience given those parameters. This is old east Dallas at the edge of gentrification. But,the foofoo hasnt caught up yet so, id say this is still explorers' territory. Your kids and wife driving in with you from North Dallas probably aren't going to find the charm that you do. But let's get down to the burger business. The place has years of patina on it. The M and M vending machine hasn't been used in decades but its still sitting there(turned around so no one uses it). I like that its still there. The place has the usual ephemera for a genuine hole in the wall. Random signs pulled from a strip club, mailbox made into a bird house...etc It's small and id say mainly takeout. There are about 6 counter spaces looking out the front window. I sat here as to breathe the air, watch the clientele and catch the full experience. These places are disappearing as fast as an Ice Cube in the August heat and I want to visit as many as possible before they're extinct. The small kitchen behind the register with an old flat top, some fryolator etc. Just the basics you need to sling some cheeseburgers. I ordered a double meat cheeseburger all the way which meant 2 1/4 lb patties, lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles lettuce, and mustard. I ask if the french fries were frozen or fresh. He said fresh so I got an order. I read a few reviews as I waited on my food and a common comment from a substantial number was over cooked meat. Guess what, yes,my meat was overcooked and a little dry and not as much flavor as i thought it should have. That one fact kept them out of five star territory and almost dropped them to 3. I mean if you are a burger place bring it right? The fries where good but id opt for the onion rings next time. Why? Because on my way out I was tipping and thanking them and noticed 2 big delicious batches of rings going down. This is a place you aren't going to just notice and stop. In this part of town, you have to be headed there. Id say if you love hamburgers and are adventurous, check it out. I may give it another shot, if im in the area hungry.

Order a 1/2cheeseburger and fries, one of the best burgers I've. I 100% recommend this place for a damn good burger! Took me back to my childhood when my dad would grill burgers on Sundays!

This unassuming restaurant tucked in a corner of nondescript row of stores has stood the test of time. My first review of the place was in 2013. Here it is 13 years later then it is still going strong. I went for lunch with the family on a snow day. You order at the counter and they bring it to your table. No numbers, they just remember who you are. I always get combo number 1 and add sweet potato fries. The prices are great and not much more than McDonalds but the difference in value is significant. The burgers are not thick but this time I noticed the double burger (#2) is just a couple of bucks more than the the single patty in #1. Note to self for next time. Although the patty is thin, the flavors work. The burger comes with lettuce, tomato, onion, and mustard. No ketchup, you add that yourself. The bun with sesame seeds always comes out piping hot. Sweet potato fries are crispy and not greasy. The combo comes with a drink for $10.99. That's a deal. I hope they stay in business another 13 years!

The neighborhood may continue to change around it, but Chip's remains the same. My Overall Rating - 4 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - Chip's has an old school, nostalgic feel. The restaurant has an iconic sloping roof with a yellow outdoor exterior and a big green sign with its logo. Inside, there are plenty of booths, a bar, and even outdoor seating. Chip's has grown and expanded over the years but to me that adds to the nostalgic charm. 1 Star. Service - Chip's may have invented counter service. Upon entering, you look at the menu posted on the wall and place your order. You'll get a number (or they'll ask for your name), and you grab a table, and when your food is ready it comes out. Fast, efficient, and the staff was super friendly. 1 Star. Food - Chip's is known for its poppy seed hamburger buns. While it's pretty and tasty, the most important part, the patty, is pretty average. Honestly, there are many other great burger joints in Dallas. On the other hand, the fried onion strings are a must order for your side. While I wasn't a fan of the burger, the fried onion strings saved my meal. The Oreo and Fresh Banana shakes were also a nice cold, creamy, sweet ending to my meal. 1 Star. Will I Return? - Yes. I hope Chip's never changes. The restaurant has an iconic look, it's part of Dallas history, and the staff is great. 1 Star.

We ordered the fried mushrooms to start, and they were so hot that one of us severely burned her lower gums on them. Seriously! A prescription from the dentist was sought; mea culpa but damn. Once they were less volcanic, they were good. We split a burger with fried onions, and it was dry. The meat was overbooked, the bun was over toasted, and the whole thing needed plenty of beer to go down smoothly. The fries are fine, and we did appreciate that they had some steamed broccoli on the menu. Our daughter was happy with her kids cheeseburger meal, and she did like the chocolate-caramel malt shake she scored at the end. A main reason that we're landing on three stars is the ice cream situation. One of us ordered a soft serve vanilla, and nobody told her that the machine was down, so what she got instead was a cup of half melted Blue Bell soup...are you kidding! Thanks for the prompt refund, but letting your customer know what the situation is in advance goes a long way. So, we tried it. Add a notch to the Dallas belt. We wish them well, but we won't be returning. There are better burgers in DFW.
