Stopped by Chop House Burgers for the first time on a Friday evening around 8:30 PM. Located at the corner of Main Street and Akard, the place was quiet and clean--not sure if that's typical for a Friday night, but it made for a relaxed first impression. I ordered the bacon cheeseburger and requested it medium rare. The staff kindly explained that their medium rare tends to come out quite pink, so they recommended medium well instead. I appreciated the transparency and the courteous service. That said, the burger came out fully cooked with no pink at all--more done than I prefer. The flavor was solid, but the doneness took away from the overall experience for me. I also tried the sweet potato fries. They were decent, though I would've liked a bit more crispness. On the flip side, the sweet tea was spot on--refreshing and well-balanced. Overall, I'd give the experience a 7 out of 10. Everything had great flavor. The burgers tasted fresh and they were juicy. The truffle aioli on the Chop House burger was excellent. We also ordered some on the side to dip our fries into. The truffle fries were the group favorite. There's only one bathroom and the side door to the patio/street is right next to it. I initially thought it to be a good value yet upon receiving and attempting to consume it, my mind was completely CHANGED. This was a really good cheese burger; I got the bacon cheeseburger that had jalapeños and grilled onions. I got all the sauces and condiments on the side because I wasn't going to eat the burger immediately and I didn't want it to be soggy. I ate the burger about a hour or so after getting it (it was room temp). That burger was so good, I was halfway through eating it before I realized I didn't have any condiments on it ahah. So I immediately added some mustard and finished it on up. I also got fries. Now, I am not a fan of cold fries. The restaurant is a fast casual spot in the heart of downtown Dallas on Main St. When you enter the establishment, it is very open. There are picnic table style tables im the interior and an outside patio to enjoy food. As far as the service, we werent greeted. As we waited for the cashier to finish taking someones order, the lady sitting ontop of the counter told us to use the self checkout kiosk to order instead of waiting. The menu offers al la carte items. I found the beverages to be extremely expensive for the establishment. Once you order, you will get a number and someone will look to find your seat and deliver your order to you once ready. My order did come fast! The truffle fries were a waste of money in my opinion and was extremely cold after 2 minutes. I can tell the freshest ingredients were used for the fries and just have opted for the regular fries instead. I ordered the bacon cheeseburger without jalapenos. The burgers here are not smashburgers so expect a thick patty. it was cooked to my temparature. The burger patty lacked basic seasoning and needed a sauce accompanied with it. I do find this place to be very overrated. The food is mediocre and I was expecting much more from it due to the attention on social media. The food is good but not special, I prefer going to Shake Shack in all honestly where I can spend less money too. read more

This burger is so good that you wish you had room for a second. They don't put a stack a napkins on the table for nothing as this lovely buttery sandwich will make you either need napkins or be licking those fingers like crazy. I did a little of both. Now for the truffle fries. I loved them. So flavorful and crispy as they are a skinny cut fries. These also are so good you want more even though your so full and by all means get your own and don't share. The place had business guys coming in left and right and we all know most guys know where to get a good burger. Though the restaurant is fast casual, the food is definitely top notch. There is plenty of advertising inside and outside the restaurant about their food sources and the end product definitely reflects the quality of their food. The cookies and cream shake is very creamy with just the right amount of sweetness and a consistency that gets just the right amount of flavor on your tongue without overpowering the senses. The hot chick is excellently executed throughout with a tender and crispy piece of buttermilk fried chicken with fresh lettuce, tomato, and onion. It's a bit large to eat in one bite, but somehow you get the right mix of buffalo and blue cheese sauce with each bite. The chop house burger is a very unassuming, but well constructed burger. The key here is really in the quality of the beef in the burger combined with excellent execution on the cooking to get just the right level of juiciness. I liked the milder white truffle sauce as it didn't distract from the enjoyment of the meat. The sweet potato fries were also prepared well with a good mix of soft and crispy elements and a good firmness. Overall, great value considering how good the food is here.
