I was craving some burgers, and Sky Rocket Burger happened to be nearby. I've heard lots of great things about this place. There is a small parking lot available. The inside is spacious and was clean. In my opinion, the prices were on the higher side, with many optional add-ons costing extra. Service was fast overall. The burger was decent, but I felt it was kind of dry. The loaded fries were quite good, and they definitely didn't skimp on any of the ingredients.

Amazing burger, freshly made delicious! If you want a real smash burger, come here! Worth every penny. The service was quick and the establishment was clean and welcoming.

online you cannot tell, but they have veggie burger options!! i dont think you can order the veggie options online, but you can in-person. the burgers are simple, yummy, and fresh. a good burger is made simple great ingredients, and sky rocket burger gets it right! the fries are also amazing!! and i wish i had some right now! service is fast, all they make is burgers, fries, and shakes. since it's a burger joint, there is no expectation for a red carpet to be rolled out, which works for me... the ambiance is no fuss. everything is simple and styled in a way you think a burger joint should look. overall, definitely recommended. also... it located towards the back of deep ellum so you are not in the heart of all the deep ellum commotion. bon appétit

Nice they have a parking lot in deep ellum! Burgers are always good but definitely not a healthy burger, it's old school and ready to clog your arteries with amazingness. Pretty sizable inside with lots of chairs and barstools. You order at the counter but the server was friendly!

One of my favorite burgers in Dallas. Family always enjoys the quality and flavor. Inside is nothing too special except they do let you write on the walls and leave a mark by writing whatever you want with a sharpie they'll provide. I ordered the 3 patty burger which may have been over the top. I think a double will be fine for most people. The single is more of a kids option IMO. The burger has a classic quality taste. Sesame seed bun. Good amount of mayo. The fries left a lot to be desired. I can't tell if they are too thick or just not cooked long enough to my liking. I wanted a crisper fry so this one just missed the mark.

Really good burgers! First time trying the Rocket fries and they were pretty good as well.

Somehow burger with cheese, and large cheese fries!

Every time we can when we visit the Metroplex we make a point to stop here. If you like a good burger, friendly atmosphere, hole in the wall location! This is the place never disappoints always delivers!! Fast service in and out!! No sweet tea is the only complaint.

Sky Rocket Burger is a burger joint that has a simple menu that consists of tasty burgers and shakes. It's a no-nonsense joint that let's you sit back and enjoy a good burger. My Overall Rating - 4 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - The location in Deep Ellum is a true dive. The good news is there is free parking, but seating inside is limited, although there are picnic tables outside. One of the bathrooms is very dark - even with the light on. But the walls are covered with names and signatures, and you're encouraged to add your own John Hancock. 1/2 Star. Service - You place an order at a kiosk, or order from the staff. It's your typical fast casual restaurant. You order, grab a number, get a drink, sit down, and wait for your number to be called. Nothing great, but nothing bad either. 1/2 Star. Food - The burger is delicious. You can order a single/double/triple + a sauce of your own liking. Like In-N-Out, Sky Rocket burger doesn't try to sell you several items from all over the place, opting instead to just pump out darn good burgers. The patty is super juicy, well-seasoned, and is paired well with a sesame seed bun and a mayo based sauce. I had high expectations for this burger, and Sky Rocket Burger passed with flying colors. For my side, I chose tater tots and a cookies and cream ice cream shake. The tots were perfectly crisp on the outside, and hot and soft on the inside. The shake was also great. I just needed a bigger straw. 2 Stars. Will I Return? - Yes. The burger exceeded my expectations. Sky Rocket uses the In-N-out playbook to perfection. Simply offer a great, quality burger and I will come! 1 Star. My Yelp Rating Scale (Sum of all parts): 1 Star - Atmosphere - Is it a cool dive? Perhaps an upscale place? No matter the type, atmosphere plays a big part and I'll give a star if I like it or thinks it has great charm. 1 Star - Service - You can have a great meal with bad service. But that's also what can make a five star joint drop to four. It's important to the dining experience that service is great and on point. 2 Stars - Food - I'll award up to two stars for the food, since this is the main reason we dine out. Sometimes the extra star is given for value, but it's really all about the food. 1 Star - Will I come back? - If I know for a fact I'll return, I'll give this a star. A place has to make an impression for me to return. Each Category can be given up to 1 star except food (2 stars) because I consider all these categories important to the overall dining experience. I will sum them up to provide my final Yelp score.

    Rocket Fries
    Whitley M.

Come hungry! This was probably one of the best burgers I've ever had. I got a double with American cheese and bacon! The Rocket fries were not my favorite as they are too soft and maybe too loaded (If that's a thing). I'm a big fan of five guys and this is similar in the sense of ingredients but 5x better! The bun and crispy edges of the patty are something special.

This unassuming restaurant tucked in a corner of nondescript row of stores has stood the test of time. My first review of the place was in 2013. Here it is 13 years later then it is still going strong. I went for lunch with the family on a snow day. You order at the counter and they bring it to your table. No numbers, they just remember who you are. I always get combo number 1 and add sweet potato fries. The prices are great and not much more than McDonalds but the difference in value is significant. The burgers are not thick but this time I noticed the double burger (#2) is just a couple of bucks more than the the single patty in #1. Note to self for next time. Although the patty is thin, the flavors work. The burger comes with lettuce, tomato, onion, and mustard. No ketchup, you add that yourself. The bun with sesame seeds always comes out piping hot. Sweet potato fries are crispy and not greasy. The combo comes with a drink for $10.99. That's a deal. I hope they stay in business another 13 years!

The neighborhood may continue to change around it, but Chip's remains the same. My Overall Rating - 4 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - Chip's has an old school, nostalgic feel. The restaurant has an iconic sloping roof with a yellow outdoor exterior and a big green sign with its logo. Inside, there are plenty of booths, a bar, and even outdoor seating. Chip's has grown and expanded over the years but to me that adds to the nostalgic charm. 1 Star. Service - Chip's may have invented counter service. Upon entering, you look at the menu posted on the wall and place your order. You'll get a number (or they'll ask for your name), and you grab a table, and when your food is ready it comes out. Fast, efficient, and the staff was super friendly. 1 Star. Food - Chip's is known for its poppy seed hamburger buns. While it's pretty and tasty, the most important part, the patty, is pretty average. Honestly, there are many other great burger joints in Dallas. On the other hand, the fried onion strings are a must order for your side. While I wasn't a fan of the burger, the fried onion strings saved my meal. The Oreo and Fresh Banana shakes were also a nice cold, creamy, sweet ending to my meal. 1 Star. Will I Return? - Yes. I hope Chip's never changes. The restaurant has an iconic look, it's part of Dallas history, and the staff is great. 1 Star.

We ordered the fried mushrooms to start, and they were so hot that one of us severely burned her lower gums on them. Seriously! A prescription from the dentist was sought; mea culpa but damn. Once they were less volcanic, they were good. We split a burger with fried onions, and it was dry. The meat was overbooked, the bun was over toasted, and the whole thing needed plenty of beer to go down smoothly. The fries are fine, and we did appreciate that they had some steamed broccoli on the menu. Our daughter was happy with her kids cheeseburger meal, and she did like the chocolate-caramel malt shake she scored at the end. A main reason that we're landing on three stars is the ice cream situation. One of us ordered a soft serve vanilla, and nobody told her that the machine was down, so what she got instead was a cup of half melted Blue Bell soup...are you kidding! Thanks for the prompt refund, but letting your customer know what the situation is in advance goes a long way. So, we tried it. Add a notch to the Dallas belt. We wish them well, but we won't be returning. There are better burgers in DFW.
