So, this Portillo's location is fairly new so I feel they should be given grace as they find their footing etc. I went in, in hopes of getting the Sauce Flight before they were gone which is a sampling of all the Portillo's sauces for $1.99 and luckily I was able to! They were not packed when I went but there were guest about 10 at most, I placed my order with a staff member for the flight, and used the kiosk to order my meal so I had time to look at the menu. I wasn't super hungry so opted for a kids meal to share however it was pretty big, the kids meal comes with four of their large tenders, but each item actually has to be purchased ala carte so the meal is really just the toy (which was a paper hat). This differs from some other locations where the kids meal comes with a coupon for a $1 kids slice and stickers which I think would've been the better choice. Finally tried this place for the hotdogs. The fries were the best part of the meal. The pickles weren't pickling, they tasted as if they were stored in water. The hot dog bun had a fennel-licorice aftertaste. Yuck The hot dog casing was thick and the meat itself flavorless with crunchy unidentifiable bits. The chili hot dog : the chili was at least palatable. The burger: mediocre at best. Not going back. Wish I had never tried this place. read more

OK Portillo, you need to do better. I guess you save the burnt Polish sausage for the drive-through and I was the lucky winner. The drive-through attendance lack of acknowledgement was , NONE. No Hello, may I take your order or Thank you, she barely talked. This is the case each time I've gone through the drive thru. I think the trainer needs to come back and do a refresher quickly before this place shuts down. read more

This place is pretty good. We went before going to Chicago so we would not be tempted to go during our trip. The Italian beef was really good. Super meaty and moist from the broth. We did try mr. Beef while in Chicago and portillos won the taste off. The beef tasted fresher and it was more tender. My wife ordered the chocolate cake shake and really liked it. It wasn't for me, but I could see why she would. It's pretty sweet but the cake crumb inside was a nice deviation from the norm. The service is what you would expect. I didn't go to the actual Portillo's restaurant. I am at FIFA fan fest and I went to their booth over here. So I went with the Chicago dog. It wasn't super expensive. I believe it was $14 which is still kind of high. However, I sat down at the table in the shade. I got my dog, took the first couple bites, and I couldn't get my teeth through the casing of it. Basically the bit of meat was sliding out of the case. I think having everything that is usually on a Chicago dog was good. However, having to have my teeth tear into the case of the hot dog was a little challenging, not quite what I expected. With this experience, I will probably not go there. The service was great. It also helped that I was the only person in line at the time (I went late). I ordered a bunch of different items to try... including the burger meal, chicken strips, and a slice of their chocolate cake. I didn't get to go inside since I was in the drive thru so I can't comment on the decor but the parking lot was clean. The burger: amazing, delicious, had a nice chargrilled flavor. The Fries: they were also tasty, hot, and fresh The Chicken: it was alright, a little much on the breading but still good. A nice vessel for sauce. The cake: my biggest disappointment. I am a huge choco cake fan... nothing better than a moist fudge cake. But this was dry, and chewy?? Why was it chewy. I really wanted to like it. Maybe next time it'll be better??? Really good 'sandwich' place. It is nicer and not quite as fast as fast food (and the food is better) but it is not over the top or fancy and you order at the counter or a kiosk. I had their number 1 which is a sliced beef Chicago style sandwich and it was really good. The people working there were also great. They were very friendly which was especially nice of them since they were busy. They are also known for their Chicago Style hot dogs which I will have to try next time. read more

New location. Decided to try the drive thru on the way back to the office to eat at my desk. Beef sandwich with sweet peppers and broth plus fries. Very friendly service. Very good, even to go. So I'm from Chicago and I have been to Portillo's since a kid. This north Dallas location is very inconsistent . Y'all always forget my peppers ,the sausage never is the size of the sandwich , Pause lol The sausage sometimes are a little under and a lil over at times. Today my bread was ridiculously hard pause lol ya'll need to get it together. Some of your night shift cashiers are kind of short with the customer service.. They are not prepared to be open. It took 15 minutes to get our order and we were first in line and then it was wrong. And they tried to deliver someone else's order to us. They need to take another month to prepare before opening and not knowing what to do. read more
