Fries and Beer Battered Onion Rings
    Madison H.

We were on our way to an event in Dallas and had some time to spare. We wanted to try something different that we don't have near home, and we stumbled across Maple & Motor and boy was it a good choice. When you walk in, you order at the bar, and the menu is located right there to see. There is plenty of seating available with a large screen projector, hats, and a few other decorations on the walls. Nothing too fancy, but definitely not a dive. We all ordered cheeseburgers, cooked all the way with different sides. Every order came out correctly, which is a big deal for us. We also ordered fries and onion rings, which were enough to share between the three of us. Our meals were great, probably the best hamburgers we have had in a while. I can't post a review without mentioning their staff, the man at the counter was funny. He double checked our orders before going to the next person in our party. The lady that delivered our food to the table was nice and made sure everything was right before walking away.

only place in town to get a grilled Cincinnati style bologna burger. First time I added grilled onions and wow, that'll be my go to from now on. Always the best.

This was my first time here and the burger was good. Very flavorful and fresh, but a tad greasy. I grabbed my food to go. The service was great and quick. I'll be back again to try other stuff on the menu.

Great place to grab a burger! So glad they opened this second location. We tried their original location in the medical district and loved it so much!! Service is on point and the restaurant is clean and well kept. Can't go wrong with a classic cheeseburger from Maple and Motor.

My first time. I walked in and was greeted by friendly staff who helped explain the menu and to order. The owner was on the floor and visiting every table. He came over and chatted briefly. The BEST burger in town !!

    Cheese Burger with Grilled Jalapeños

Came here for dinner with some friends and I had a great time. The food came out quick and was absolutely delicious. They cook their burgers perfectly (with just a little pink). If you like jalapeños consider adding the grilled jalapeños. They were delicious. The service was great. I felt the table never had trash on it. They were constantly picking up finished plates and papers. Typically on a Tuesday night most places are pretty quiet but this place had a decent amount of people having dinners. Definitely a good place to grab a burger with friends and maybe even a beer if that's your thing.

The bar was set too high for me. I was expecting "the best burger of my life" and got "a really decent burger" with acceptable sides (fries, tots and o-rings). Service was great from who I believe to be the owner who was doing a fantastic job delivering food to the tables. I'd go back... to try the other sandwich options. Been told the "flat top brisket" is a great choice.

Burgers are beast mode and buns are not soggy! If you haven't been to this place, you gotta check it out. Customer service is great and it's a great chill atmosphere. I had to take half my burger home because it was so large. The tater tots were crispy and french fries were the bomb. I really liked how they had Sriracha and jalapeño ketchup as well. Not to mention the service, everyone was smiling and nice. I'm totally a fan and will be back.

Super solid burger. Good size patty, good bun, the LTOP toppings were all fresh and crunchy. Very good. Fries are also pretty good, but nothing to write home about. A cheeseburger and fries came out to like 19 bucks which is pretty expensive, but it is a good burger. So... worth a try for sure, i won't go out of my way for it but I would definitely go back. Also came out pretty quick which made it good for a work lunch.

The burger was great, not over priced, tater tots where fresh, drink was good, the thing that impresses me the most of this place is their level of hospitality. Everyone is extremely nice and super attentive. Great atmosphere

Best fried bologna sandwich I've had in Dallas. Great burgers and flat top brisket sandwiches as well. Worth a visit.

    Juicy burger!

Delicious "pink" cheddar cheeseburger with grilled jalapeño. Tater tots are perfectly fried! Service is impeccable!

We've always loved the downtown location, so we were thrilled to have them pop up close by. Huge and delicious greasy burgers, stellar fried bologna sandwiches and a grilled cheese that my kid adores. Sides are all pretty standard, but good. And it's interesting how they're serving Arnold Palmer and margarita mix frozen from the machine. Then you can purchase a little bottle of booze to add to it. Haven't seen that before but it makes sense. So far they've been pretty busy, and service has been great.

This unassuming restaurant tucked in a corner of nondescript row of stores has stood the test of time. My first review of the place was in 2013. Here it is 13 years later then it is still going strong. I went for lunch with the family on a snow day. You order at the counter and they bring it to your table. No numbers, they just remember who you are. I always get combo number 1 and add sweet potato fries. The prices are great and not much more than McDonalds but the difference in value is significant. The burgers are not thick but this time I noticed the double burger (#2) is just a couple of bucks more than the the single patty in #1. Note to self for next time. Although the patty is thin, the flavors work. The burger comes with lettuce, tomato, onion, and mustard. No ketchup, you add that yourself. The bun with sesame seeds always comes out piping hot. Sweet potato fries are crispy and not greasy. The combo comes with a drink for $10.99. That's a deal. I hope they stay in business another 13 years!

The neighborhood may continue to change around it, but Chip's remains the same. My Overall Rating - 4 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - Chip's has an old school, nostalgic feel. The restaurant has an iconic sloping roof with a yellow outdoor exterior and a big green sign with its logo. Inside, there are plenty of booths, a bar, and even outdoor seating. Chip's has grown and expanded over the years but to me that adds to the nostalgic charm. 1 Star. Service - Chip's may have invented counter service. Upon entering, you look at the menu posted on the wall and place your order. You'll get a number (or they'll ask for your name), and you grab a table, and when your food is ready it comes out. Fast, efficient, and the staff was super friendly. 1 Star. Food - Chip's is known for its poppy seed hamburger buns. While it's pretty and tasty, the most important part, the patty, is pretty average. Honestly, there are many other great burger joints in Dallas. On the other hand, the fried onion strings are a must order for your side. While I wasn't a fan of the burger, the fried onion strings saved my meal. The Oreo and Fresh Banana shakes were also a nice cold, creamy, sweet ending to my meal. 1 Star. Will I Return? - Yes. I hope Chip's never changes. The restaurant has an iconic look, it's part of Dallas history, and the staff is great. 1 Star.

We ordered the fried mushrooms to start, and they were so hot that one of us severely burned her lower gums on them. Seriously! A prescription from the dentist was sought; mea culpa but damn. Once they were less volcanic, they were good. We split a burger with fried onions, and it was dry. The meat was overbooked, the bun was over toasted, and the whole thing needed plenty of beer to go down smoothly. The fries are fine, and we did appreciate that they had some steamed broccoli on the menu. Our daughter was happy with her kids cheeseburger meal, and she did like the chocolate-caramel malt shake she scored at the end. A main reason that we're landing on three stars is the ice cream situation. One of us ordered a soft serve vanilla, and nobody told her that the machine was down, so what she got instead was a cup of half melted Blue Bell soup...are you kidding! Thanks for the prompt refund, but letting your customer know what the situation is in advance goes a long way. So, we tried it. Add a notch to the Dallas belt. We wish them well, but we won't be returning. There are better burgers in DFW.
