This place has massive potential and there were definitely some hits and unfortunately some misses too. We started off with some Masala fries, which honestly were better than what we expected. Hot, fresh, crispy, and heavily seasoned. Our waitress recommended the Beef Bihari as the BBQ skewer that is most frequently ordered. Unfortunately, the texture was very off putting despite the flavors being there. I know that sometimes when meats are over-marinated, usually in plain yogurt, the meat can sometimes turn very mushy, which is what happened here. The Boneless Chicken Seekh Kebab was delicious (even though a few pieces had some of that mushy texture also). The ground Chicken Boti Kebab was probably the most delicious thing we ordered. All three meats were heavily enjoyed when eaten with the Puri Puratha fried bread, sliced cucumber and red onion side condiments, and the table-side chutneys. The waiter who cleared our table asked how everything was and we spoke highly of the parts of the meal that we enjoyed. He appreciated the praise and offered a comp'd dessert which was very nice and unexpected. He brought us some Halwa, which at first glance seemed very unappetizing. But when we tried it, we were very much surprised. It was warm, sweet, not too sweet, and very comforting. Definitely a nice touch. When we left, we noticed some amazing looking curries on other people's tables that were hard to ignore. We'll definitely come back and give those a whirl!

This is my go to place for Halwa Puri. We usually take the platter and enjoy it. Puris are tasty, soft and fluffy. I love the chana/cholay. They are not just tasty but cooked in a way that they are not even too spicy or too oily, something even my baby can eat. I won't give my baby always because it's sweet and has lot of added sugar. I wish our desi places could keep baby menus too. Overall the food, service and ambiance, they all are on top!

I've been wanting to try this Pakistani restaurant for a while and got a perfect opportunity. The best part about the menu - it's not exhaustive with too many options like most restaurants. The menu offers the best foods you can taste from Pakistan and you cannot go wrong with any of your choices. Tried their beef Bihari kebab for appetizer and beef nihari with naan and puri. The kebabs were awesome with the perfect seasoning and texture. The nihari is definitely my favorite and they make it better than other restaurants. I have tried. I will recommend the naan over the puri, which is a personal preference. The only downside I would say is their portion sizes are smaller than most establishments for the money you pay. Also, they only provide bottled water that is expensive. Service was pretty efficient. Each table has a button if you need service and the staff is prompt to respond. A spacious and clean restaurant with a party space available as well. Plenty of parking is available right outside the restaurant. Pricing: moderate high for the portion size. Will I return yes for the Nihari :)

We went to BK for a wedding brunch and it was a great experience. The spread included Halwa, poori, naan, Aloo Bhujia, Nihari, Behari Kabab, and chicken Kabab. The Nihari and Behari Kabab were good and the chicken Kabab was average. The star of the show was the Halwa Poori, however. The vibe and the flavors made me feel like I was back in Pakistan. This was such a great brunch, and we cannot wait to go back.

I live in Addison and drive past this place and decided to try it since I love Indian and Afghan food, so wanted to try the Pakistani food. I had the mutton seekh kebab, chicken tikka leg, and beef bahari kebab with an order of naan. It all came up to around $45. It is the worst meal I have ever had and most of it ended up in the trash. The beef Bihari texture was awful and it was tasteless. It melted in your mouth like tasteless cardboard, did not have a meaty texture. The chicken was way too salty for me. It was also very spicy but that does not bother me. The mutton seekh kebab was just ok at best. There is disappointment and there is this. I don't do reviews often but when it is this bad, I have to do a review.

Chiken Tikka Leg Beef Seekh Kabab

Apart from waiting for atleast half an hour during the holidays, the food is always good. Sheekh kabab is one of the best and juiciest.

I just found out about this restaurant and let me tell you... It's Amazing!!!! The decor is inviting, the staff is welcoming and overall atmosphere is comforting. The menu is vast, from grilled items, curries, wraps to what I went for... the weekend special: Halwa, Chole+Puri, which was not too spicy nor was the halwa too sweet- it was perfectly balanced in flavors! We ordered Nihari along with Bihari Kabab- both super soft and cooked to perfection! Very reasonably priced, and the food is superb!!

Wonderful dining experience with great food and ambiance. Loved their menu. Chicken was amazing too

Restaurant has such great potential but it's shortcuts like these that make you wonder what's happening in the kitchen. Water mixed in little soap to save pennies. Ridiculous. Customer service is a miss. You'll be left hangry if you're expecting food in a timely manner. Takes forever.

The worst restaurant in DFW area, serving one day old curry which already have bad smell in it. And the response from manage was even worse not even feel sorry. When i said them what if anything happened to me the reply was only god handed that it-seems.

Do they take reservations for a party of 20?

I believe so! They have an entire back room that fits ~50 I think and I've seen reserved tables of 10 before too. I'd call well in advance!

As I worked my way down the line, everyone was helpful with asking if I wanted bread, what deserts were worth trying, and closing the transaction. My friend absolutely loved the burnt ends. He liked them so much that after we finished the first order, he went back and got a second one, plus some brisket and elote. I thought everything was good, but I will say the menu felt a little limited. This is definitely one of those places where I am glad I finally tried it because it is part of the local DFW BBQ experience, but it is probably not somewhere I would specifically seek out again. That said, if someone wanted to go, I would go again without complaint. I DO want to try the Burndt end bloody mary!

The vibe in this place is really great. The people are friendly. Downtown Plano is cool. The restaurant and bar area are clean, well-attended, and the food and drink are all good. So why only 3-stars? To be fair, I came here on a weeknight around 6:30pm, which is not the best way to judge a BBQ place. I will try to come back on a Friday at lunch time, and I hope things will be epic. Bottom line, I wasn't blown away by the meats! They were well cooked, but the flavor just didn't impress. The Sause (sorry, I'm a Rudy's loyalist) was tasty, but didn't blow my mind. A nice sweet + smoky flavor that worked better with the Spare Ribs than the Brisket. (Another minot note -- I know a lot of BBQ places eschew Baby Back Ribs for Spare Ribs. Lockhart only does Spare Ribs.) Would I come back? 100% Would I recommend that you go here? 100% I have to say the bartender was terrific, and the pit masters were super friendly, so no dis on the staff. I was just hoping for "oh my god" BBQ and didn't quite get there. Still a great visit.

The brisket and pork ribs were decent, but honestly pretty dry and lacking in flavor when compared to some other BBQ places in DFW. For the price, it's pretty similar to other BBQ in the area. The Texas Twinkie is a jalapeño stuffed with cream cheese and brisket and wrapped in bacon. It was my favorite item as the cream cheese and bacon balanced out the spiciness of the jalapeño. The mac n cheese was also delicious with the perfect amount of spice. The service was great too as they made a mistake on my order and quickly corrected it. This time, I had birria tacos on my mind. My Overall Rating - 5 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - I love the Dallas Farmer's Market, and Hurtado is the perfect restaurant to occupy this space. There is a line that steadily moves, nice outdoor and indoor seating, and if you walk towards the back you can see all the smokers. If you visit on a weekend, try to arrive before noon to avoid long lines. 1 Star. Service - You place your order, take a number, and your order is brought out to you. While you don't get to see the staff cut your meat in front of you, they are very fast and efficient. There are also Hurtado staff who will clear plates off your table. Great people here. 1 Star. Food - I came for the Birria tacos. Hurtado uses their smoked brisket, which shredded and paired will all things that make Hurtado special - Mexico flavors (cilantro, onions, and that beefy consommé). I also ordered a two-meat plate with brisket and bacon burnt ends. The brisket is great (and well represented in many Yelp reviews). On this visit, the bacon burnt ends stole the spotlight. A well-seasoned and smoked pork belly cube will melt in your mouth. I washed down my meal with the Tres Leches Banana Pudding and ended an incredible meal. One last very important note, Hurtado is a great value. My two tacos, 2 meat plate, and desert were $50. P.S. I split this meal with my son. I love food but I'm not a glutton. 2 Stars. Will I Return? - Yes. I've been to the OG Hurtado in Arlington, the one at Globe Life Field, but the location in the Dallas Farmers Market is my favorite of them all. Yes, I will be back! 1 Star.
