My Overall Rating - 2 Stars (Atmosphere, Food) Atmosphere - This location of Pokéworks is modern and clean. There is a long open "kitchen" area where the servers will assemble your bowl, and there's plenty of seating. I liked the inviting wood finish and feel of this location. Drinks are self-service, and since you get your drinks yourself, it's the best service you'll receive. 1 Star. Service - Because unfortunately the service at Pokéworks is nonexistent. No greeting, no smiling, no communication. It was awkward, and while I dined in, there were several food delivery drivers who became visually upset because orders were not ready. This resulted in an uncomfortable dining experience. No Stars. Food - The good news is that this didn't impact the quality of my meal. While you can build your own bowl, I went with the Umami Ahi (partly because the server wasn't friendly and didn't seem interested in assembling a custom bowl). Ok enough about the (lack of) service, my Umami Ahi bowl had everything I wanted: Fresh, tender Ahi tuna on a bed of rice covered with fresh veggies. The pickled ginger gave the mild tuna some tang while the sesame seeds and garlic crisps added crunch to my bite. My only minor complaint was that the tuna to rice ratio was more rice than tuna, and once I finished my tuna I was done with my meal but still had tons of rice left. 1 Star. Will I Return? - No. The combination of lack of service and upset delivery drivers left me with an uneasy feeling. I've ordered two bowls every other week for the past couple of months, and typically everything is fantastic--portions are consistent, the fish is fresh, and it's always delicious. Unfortunately, the past two orders have been disappointing due to the salmon quality and serving size. One piece contained a small bone, and the rest of the salmon was rubbery and had a fishy taste. My partner, who eats the second bowl, became sick after both of these recent orders. We get the triple protein, and have also noticed that the amount of fish provided has gone down. I'm not sure if there has been a change in vendors or storage practices, but the consistency and quality we've come to expect has not been there lately. Came here on the grand opening day and was so excited to see a Pokeworks nearby. Great customer service and location was perfect. There is a pretty wide selection of toppings and sauces you can choose from when you MYO poke bowl. Prices were ok as well. It was very tasty! My only complaint is that the "white rice" was regular jasmine white rice instead of sushi rice (which is typical for poke bowls). It threw off the taste and texture but not by too much. Or perhaps we are just used to eating poke with sushi rice :) Also, the miso soup was extremely salty where I had to add 2 cups of water to dilute it. However, everything else was great!! But for a regular bowl the price is $15.50, which must be an inflation adjusted price. Second time we come here on a Sunday afternoon and they say they don't have white rice. What kind of poke place doesn't have white rice ready for orders? Can't tell if they are too lazy to make rice (seriously?) or too stupid to realize they ran out. The look on their face when they said it makes me think they are doing it intentionally to make reduce the number of orders they have to make. If the owner is reading this, the woman you have working on Sunday afternoons is costing you money and customers. Replace them with workers who aren't too lazy to make rice or we won't be back. I am excited that a Pokeworks opened in Addison! The restaurant is very clean and modern. Customer service was helpful and friendly. All the ingredients were very fresh. I ordered the Yuzu Ponzu Salmon and instead of cucumber, I ordered edamame and added pickled ginger. My only complaint is that they have nachos listed as a base option on the menu in the restaurant and when my husband tried to order them, our server told us that they are only offering those at their Uptown location.
