This is the closest I can get to an anti inflammatory diet without getting insanely sick. I ordered a shrimp platter with a kale salad and a side of the roasted veggies (close to $30, a but pricey without a drink). I then indulged in sweet potato fries. If you're looking for a casual place for a meal with no frills and a variety of options, definitely try it. It's my go to and even more now that my lifestyle has changed significantly and still want to enjoy a food experience here and there. Food item review: - Shrimp plate with the roasted veggies - delicious and loved whatever sauce it came with - Kale salad - pretty decent, wish the kale was massaged so the texture and taste is better - Fries - arrived very cold, so that was disappointing. Ok first, I absolutely love Flower Child; I have been a loyal customer for years for the chain as a whole as well as this location specifically. This is the first time I have had a bad experience with it. I ordered the steak plate through doordash and as soon as I opened the container, I saw that the steak was green and gray. I have gotten this exact meal so many times and it has never looked like this before. I have also never had steak look like this throughout my entire life, including when I have cooked it with green vegetables/sauces/seasonings. I do not think this is safe to consume. I hate leaving a bad review and I am only leaving it because again, I do not think this is safe to consume and hopefully this review will draw the right attention to this quality/health issue so it gets fixed immediately and no one else gets put at risk due to bad meat. Again, I love Flower Child, love this location, everyone is so great and the food usually is too. This is hopefully a one time mistake and won't happen again. read more

It was great to see how they've expanded in the Dallas area as well. Mother Earth Bowl - loved the combination of ancient grains, sweet potato, portobello mushroom, avocado, cucumber, broccoli pesto, and onion. Macro-friendly lunches are the best. This was the perfect way to fuel up while on the go. Avocado Hummus - had me at sweet corn, but I also loved the other toppings (radish, clementine & pumpkin seed). It was served with some homemade tortillas packed with tons of seeds. If I hadn't been in a rush to catch my flight, I would have loved to dine on their outdoor patio as well! I love flower child and the Mother Earth bowl and avocado toast are my favorites. However, it was my first time at this location prior to getting on a flight. We had the forbidden rice bowl and poke bowl. The poke bowl and everything in it was disgustingly tart, but the worst part was the undercooked rice. If you can't cook white rice then please don't serve poke. I hope someone in the kitchen looks at this and revisits the recipe and how to keep things standardized. read more

I have never been to this location. The other two I like a lot and more than this one. While all the pieces are here,seemed everything is just slightly off. Don't get me wrong,if you are looking for a casual dining option other than burgers etc,this is it . The food is well thought out, as far as combinations of flavors and textures. With an eye toward healthy eating,each dish is a complete,nutritious meal . In general at the counter you choose your bowl or entree. Then just add the desired protein. Take a seat and they bring your food in about 15 minutes. To me the food isn't quite as good as the other Dallas or Ft Worth locations. However,I was happy and would return. This place was packed when I went during lunch. You order up front, they give you an order number stand, and you seat yourself. I ordered the Glow Bowl and added shrimp as my protein. I'm not a picky eater, but I had a difficult time finishing my food (I still finished it though as I hate to waste food). The sweet potato noodles were not my thing. The taste and texture was unappealing to me, and they just doesn't mesh in with the other components of the dish like regular noodles do. The shrimp and sauce was just okay. Afterwards, I was still left feeling hungry. The presentation was very pretty and Instagram worthy though. Anyways, I supposed that this type of food isn't my cup of tea. I've also had food from Flower Child on another occasion for corporate catering. I was told to pick any menu item, but nothing looked very appetizing to me. I went with the Flying Avocado wrap, which was definitely better than my experience with the Glow Bowl, but it wasn't compelling enough for me to want to eat here again. Flower Child provides "healthy food for a happy world."  It's so healthy that it doesn't even have a soda fountain machine!  Instead, it offers teas, lemonades, and sangrias and the sangrias were tasty.   The cashier chose Chicken Enchiladas for me and they were fantastic.  It was marinated shredded chicken enveloped in two corn tortillas served with a lovely, cream sauce.  There were jalapenos sprinkled on top but they weren't spicy and the Serrano sauce wasn't spicy either.  My friend had the Mother Earth bowl and it was a hodge-podge of items - charred sweet potatoes, massive sliced Portobello mushroom, a heaping of broccoli pesto, ancient grains, and arugula.  It had all of the tastes and textures from chewy to crispy and creamy to comforting.  The cashier recommended the Forbidden Rice dish next time so I will have to give that a try. read more

And chicken kabob, which is a deconstructed chicken kabob in a bowl. Both were so amazing. I would defiantly eat both. of these again, but would love to try some of the others. The steak looked and tasted old, the broccoli was Luke warm and the sweet potato fries were very undercooked. The fries were not firm. Not impressed. For $22 I should have received a much better quality meal than that. This was the forth and final time visiting Flower Child. I stop by this location once a week after a standing appointment and pick up the most DELICIOUS curbside lunch. Now, I've been going to different locations for over a year now and have only tried one thing on the menu because it's always AWESOME! I absolutely love the Mother Earth bowl ( no mushrooms for me). It is so good every time. Everything has wonderful flavor but the sweet potatoes and red miso vinaigrette knock the dish out of the park. VERY important...stir it all together like a salad. The flavors work so well together. Now....I am decreasing how much red meat I eat. BUT, every now and then, I will get the steak added and OMG. Such a delicious grilled flavor. I usually eat the steak before I even get home. My norm is shrimp. Not as good and seasoned as the steak, but it works. I get both when I'm feeling fancy. With all that said, you don't even need the meat. The bowl is super satisfying without it. I'm just greedy. Go try it! And ask for extra red miso vinaigrette. You won't regret it. read more

Try and take care of your brick and mortar long time customers better. My family and I got salmon bowls in late December and it was delicious... amazing, even! The Flower Child taste we know and love. My mom loved it so much, to the point where she decided to bring in the new year by getting the family the same salmon bowl on New Year's Eve (which was around $75 for four). The salmon tasted as if they defrosted it in a hurry, and it was juicy for all of the wrong reasons. There was not the sear and seasoning as we remember from the bowls we had days prior. We could have done better making the salmon ourselves in comparison to the lackluster and tasteless salmon we were left with that night. We usually go to the Flower Child location on Lovers Lane, as we would order the same exact salmon bowl multiple times and the quality and taste is consistent each time without fail. Even though that location is further, my family was unfortunately put off by this incident and will continue to take our business there. It was convenient to travel to this location as it was closer to home, but we can't spend that much money again at the risk of having the same experience.
