I'm a little blown away by Flower Child. It's fast casual but with fresh, farm to table, healthy meal options. I came here yesterday for the first time and I wasn't sure about what to order so I went with salmon with a side of mac n' cheese and brussels sprouts. It was bit pricey as with tea/lemonade added, the total after tax was $20, but it was still a good meal. The food came out fast, and was well prepared. The mac n' cheese was really creamy and had great flavor. The salmon was cooked to perfection, and the brussels sprouts were well seasoned and roasted. The house habanero sauce gave the perfect kick of extra flavor to add to the meal. I really liked the flavors offered in the lemonade and tea as well. I mixed all three and it was really, really good. The ambiance of the restaurant is very cute and instagram-worthy with the cute wall mural and furniture. The service was also friendly and efficient. I look forward to returning to Flower Child and trying more menu options in the future. read more

Searching for healthier options in America is simply not easy. I appreciate flower child trying to at least provide these sorts of meals, but the prices and quality just did not do it for me. The restaurant was nice to sit in and the wait for food wasn't long at all. They bring your food out but you are generally getting your refills and such, which is totally fine. The food was very expensive, which is one of the big issues I have with healthy food options. You have your classics like $8 Avocado toast and adding a protein to any bowl jumps your price up from $12 to like $18. I get that healthier ingredients can be a little more expensive but selling me steamed brown rice or broccoli for $5 a side is just too much. Maybe if the flavors were a bit better I would be able to justify the prices more but unfortunately my partner and I did not enjoy our meals or each other's meals. The tastes were a bit hard to swallow and neither of us finished our meals before heading out. Appreciate what they are trying to do but it didn't quite do it for us. read more

All of my friends love Flower Child but it's just not really my thing. The menu/ordering is a bit overwhelming. There isn't really room up front for the crowd they have. Plus if you haven't been there it feels rushed. The service is great. All of the employees are so kind & helpful! I just don't love the food. I've tried several things & every time it's just okay. I'm not sure what it is. Maybe its an acquired taste but I do have several friends that eat there often & they are obsessed with it. Me, my daughter and my granddaughter where window shopping and real shopping and were ready for a lunch break. Flower Child is tucked into the shopping center just across from where Barnes & Noble and DSW are located. The decor is very cute on the exterior and interior. Take the name seriously. The entire menu is filled with vegan and vegetarian options. My daughter ordered roasted broccoli and smashed potatoes. She really enjoyed her potatoes but didn't care for the way the broccoli was prepared. I ordered the butternut squash lasagna and truly enjoyed it. The portion size was a little big for me but I did enjoy it. I tried a rose lemonade which had a unique and pleasant flavor. Good quality food, great service, but some items can be on the pricey side. Plenty of options for carnivores, vegans, vegetarians, etc. Make sure you check the nutritional info on their web site before you go. It's certainly healthier than a lot of other options out there, but if you're watching things like sodium, etc., pay close attention. My *favorite* item on the menu is the Thai Dye Wrap ($9.95). Spicy tofu, avocado, shredded carrots, radish, basil, cilantro, some snap peas, and smothered in some sort of Thai chili paste - this might be what the tofu is cooked in. The tofu is cooked ok, a little soft but not too bad. The wrap itself is very soft, light and fresh. The wrap is whole wheat with flaxseed and I think chia seed. My second favorite menu item is the Glow Bowl ($9.95). By default, it comes with no protein items, but you can add any protein item to it for an extra charge. This is another spicy dish that I appreciate. It's mainly spicy sweet potato noodles - that may sound weird to some, but they are mighty tasty, and the combination of sweetness and spicy is a PERFECT balance. The ONLY thing I am disappointed in with this dish is the lack of Shiitake mushrooms. I love my mushrooms, but these seem to be chopped up pretty small, so it's hard to see them or even taste them. They can also skimp on the jalapenos at times. Vegan Massaman Curry - plenty of jalapenos, for a good kick. It includes HUGE chunks of roasted sweet potatoes, spaghetti squash, and toasted cashews. The toasted cashews give it great texture and a decent crunch. You can also choose to build your own combo - you choose your protein and then select two sides. Steak ($14.25) is cooked medium. The chicken ($12.95) is cooked and seasoned VERY well. It's white meat, juicy, and very tasty. *They are taking very good precautions during COVID times, but there can still be a line out the door at lunchtime during the work week. *Use their app or their website to order ahead for pickup. You pay online, and then wander inside and find your order on a shelf with your name on it - and then RUN!!! *Yes, they have wine and beer (you're welcome for that tip - I should have added that first). read more

I have really enjoyed my experiences at Flower Child. The restaurant is decorated nicely and is always very clean. The employees are friendly, welcoming and helpful. This place gets quite busy at lunch hour, but I still get my food relatively quickly. I always enjoy my food and especially enjoy the roasted broccoli! The chicken isn't anything particularly special. As someone who isn't gluten free, I still enjoy the mac & cheese!! I had the vegan ramen bowl. It was full of fresh flavors-roasted corn, bok Choy and bean sprouts. The tofu was hard to find. The bowl probably had 4 pea sized pieces. The biggest problem, however, was the ramen needed another 2 minutes of cooking. It was chewy and tasted thick. My friend had the Turkey avocado salad, which he gave a thumbs up. I have never eaten at this location, but have always been a fan of this restaurant having tried the Houston location and had forgotten just how good the food is!! I travel a lot - lot, lot - for work and try to eat as healthy as I can and restaurants like thIs make it easy as their food or just so good , so innovative and just delicious. Good. Reminds me of some places in California like Tender Greens, etc.. One of the staff members was really nice, they seem to be quite busy, especially during lunch. My complaint is that their menu states the steak is served "medium" and most pieces were pretty much well done except the 2 center slices. But the flavors were good and meat was tender. read more

Yet another wonderful health conscious option that is casual and convenient! The space inside is beautiful and there is colorful décor splashed all across the walls. Plenty of natural light coming in and seats are perfectly spaced out. Any of the salads on the menu you will want to try. You can customize any of the bowls on the menu and add your desired protein. If you want something carby yet light try the gluten free mac and cheese and add chicken. They are also constantly changing their menu and adding more variety which I love. I actually just LOVE when my food is vibrant and colorful. Flower Child checks off all of the boxes for me. I decided to try the Salmon Plate with Broccoli and Cauliflower Rissitto because the butternut squash was not sold. This was a call in order and I was told the food would be ready in 5 minutes which is quick. I walked in to pick up my food the inside is really spacious and the decor is very uplifting. I walked over to the pickup register and the lady was pleasant. The salmon was good I underestimated it because it looked lightly cooked. The broccoli was good but some of my pieces were burnt. This is still one of my favorite restaurants in DFW. The ever changing seasonal menu keeps me coming back because the food is wholesome, refreshing and delicious! You get what you pay for. I love the portion sizes because I don't feel like I get too much food. It's the perfect amount and I don't feel sluggish after I eat. My favorite dish will always be the gluten free Mac and cheese and the grilled steak. It is soooo good. I decided to try the new dish on the menu; the eggplant and I did not like it at all I told the server and she got me the parmesan broccoli instead which was good. Ordered Mother Earth with salmon but it was pretty pricey ($17+). The Mother Earth bowl was very fulling and flavorful. The ancient grains were seasoned with something because it had a lot of taste. The sweet potatoes went well with the red pepper miso vinaigrette. The broccoli pesto didn't have as much taste but it went well with the greens. The cucumbers also had this light dressing on it which gave it a nice flavor. The salmon had no flavor but I was okay with it because I was able to get flavor from other things. The interior was nice with all the plants and light from all the windows surrounding the restaurant. It's a nicer fast casual dining place.
