This is one of the food court restaurants located at HMart Carrollton. We had Bento and a rice bow. They were decent for the price and the service was great

Today is going to be a bit of a rough one with this review. I'm not one to trash talk or bash a restaurant, after all, maybe something may just not be to my personal liking, but this review is a must. Perhaps this experience could have been averted, but I went against my gut; I'll explain. For anyone who follows my reviews, you will know that I absolutely LOVE ramen. It runs through my veins and I am willing to give any ramen a shot in any opportunity. This, of course, was my undoing. My family and I made a trip to H-Mart in Carrollton to finally experience the store everyone talks about; and I must agree, it is a fantastic place!.. but that review is for another time. Back to the story. We walked into the store and were immediately met with a small food court directly to the right. After walking around we decided on some dumplings from another shop and I just HAD to try the Tonkotsu I saw advertised at Gianna's Bento Express. Part of me knew that this might not have been a good idea for a few reasons; 1 it was not a ramen shop. 2 the pictured ramen didn't seem well crafted. 3 the place didn't really seem like a place where they put much of any effort into what they did. Even with all of that, it was still ramen, and it was Tonkotsu, my favorite. So I ordered a bowl, and this is the breakdown. The main component, the broth. I really can't believe it as I type it, but it was almost completely absent of flavor. I wasn't getting anything. I have had more flavor from instant ramen packets at home. It was so bland, to the point that adding salt would just make it taste like salt water... it was unbelievable. The pork, was tough, no flavor, and seemed to have been cut from a pork log. Clearly no time had been put into the cooking of the pork. I truly believe they may have just boiled a piece of lean pork in water and sliced it. The egg. Oh, the egg... I'm not sure how many of you know this, but when a egg is over boiled it develops a green ring around the yolk. This egg was just boiled, and way over boiled. Nothing to it. Just a plain over boiled egg floating in my ramen. What a sad image. The noodles, from everything else, might have been the only thing that wasn't terrible. Then again I doubt they make their own in-house, so it's not too hard to re-heat noodles. The small sides were kimchi, pickled daikon, and broccoli. The kimchi was fine as well as the daikon, and the broccoli again, was just boiled. This bowl of ramen was nothing like what it's suppose to be, and honestly, the service wasn't good either. I truly hope that maybe other items on their menu are good, but I for one will not be trying this place again.

Service great people friendly. We ordered tenders got wings. Wings were horrible we tried one of each flavor and decided that we were going to waste $30+ and leave the food on the table. The batter was disgusting the flavors not spicy or garlic. I would recommend staying far away from this place.

This is my favorite. C3? A little spicy but sooooooooo good

Been coming here for about 3 years. Consistently good quality food and friendly service. Excellent prices as well. What else can I say? It's bomb

Ordered chicken kalbi bento box and pork-shrimp bento box. Very impressed with food, friendly staff. Portion is very big. Authentic taste. Very reasonable price. Will definitely recommend these items.

Located inside hmart is a wonderful little place called, Gianna's bento express! you could get variety of bento boxes. My first time in i had Tonkotsu ramen! There's not many ramen places in Dallas and this isn't a "ramen" place but what they had was pretty good!

    Restaurant front and seating

Extremely RUDE staff, just confrontational! The lady pictured threw the receipt, not sure why. She said, "this isn't a hamburger place." She also wouldn't explain what her issue was. We didn't write a tip on the receipt, we paid $70 for a meal that we have to pick up from the counter and clean up our own table, so I'm not sure what service I would be tipping for. Especially not if you are THROWING my receipt! The food is okay, we always go to this stall when we visit H Mart, but certainly won't be going back.

GREAT VALUE, AUTHENTIC and COOKED TO ORDER :) We enjoyed our Korean meal here at Gianna's today in the busy H Mart food court! Two of the four of us ate here, and both greatly enjoyed their bento box meals, which came with an impressive array of side dishes each in small cupcake cups: kimchi, sweet black beans, crispy stir fried anchovies, slices of delicate fish cake, shredded daikon, and a generous portion of rice topped with a fried egg! Chicken bulgogi bento box is a good choice for the spice averse. The chicken is tender and juicy, dressed in a tangy soy-based sauce with onions for extra zip. A braver soul at our table tried the pork and squid bento. We expected the pork spiff be plain before it was cooked in a spicy aside with the squid, but the pork had been delicately seasoned and barbecues first. It was DELICIOUS!! The squid was perfectly done as well, so we had tender sweet barbecues pork and tender spicy squid in harmony in the box. YUM -- will definitely get this again!!

    Can't chew the octopus

The waiting time here is horrible . The Korean lady at the cashier is very rude. I ordered the octopus dish gosh it was horrible . The octopus was not cocked good , I couldn't even chew it and the soup was cold . Stay away from this place

The chicken kalbi was good, but it is a bit spicy. They give you a lot of food for the price.

I believe it was the owner who came around and was handing out Easter eggs to my kids and paper to draw on. She told me she would keep the kids busy so I could relax and enjoy my food. She also walked around with another table's toddler to keep him busy so that mom could finish her food too. That alone made me want to come back. Our waitress was amazing and recommended the Katsu Curry which is not the original Katsu Curry, but a ramen version. She let me know and said if I like ramen and Katsu Curry then this would be a good choice. It was. The curry ramen broth clung to the noodles and was packed with flavor. I loved that there was potatoes and carrots still, because that's something I love in curry. It's definitely my favorite version of ramen now. We ordered each type of the animal buns. The kids had fun eating and trying them. The bunny/Nutella, and Piggy/pork, were their favorites. They provide a shipping sauce for the savory buns, but we enjoyed them without the sauce. Service, food, and ambiance was all top notch. The inside of the restaurant is beautiful, clean and well maintained. The tables have plenty of room between each other and they can do small and large groups. We've added this place to our family favorites.
