    Egg tofu over bok choy
    Yu-kwong C.

Fangs Wok is a new restaurant here in Plano. We were curious about this place and the type of cuisine they specialized in. So we decided to check it out. Since it was our first time here, the server suggested some dishes for us. We finally settled on the drunken pork ribs, egg tofu, and a meat soup. The egg tofu was delicious. But don't get it wrong. Egg tofu is not really regular tofu. It was made from steaming beaten eggs and soy milk. The texture was just as soft and silky as tofu. Fried to a golden brown, the tofu was placed on top of bok choy in a glossy brown sauce. The dish looked simple, but it was very tasty. The drunken fried pork was crispy and tasty. But the alcohol flavor could be stronger. The rabbit soup was the star. Yes, rabbit soup! I don't remember the last time I had rabbit meat. The soup was prepared with red yeast rice (紅糟米), which is new to me. To my surprise, the soup was very savory with a strong taste of wine (from the yeast fermentation). We loved it! This item is not on the menu for some reason. So if you want to try something exotic, ask the server about it. The place is cozy and homey. The server was attentive and friendly. She came by to check on us a few times. We appreciated it. Overall, we enjoyed the meal. We'll come back to try the other dishes.

This place used to be something else so I was surprised to see this instead. I went in right after the lunch rush, but still during lunch hours so I ordered off of the lunch menu. Decent amount of food and good price as well - left me full and I had enough to take home (given, I did order an app). Their soup is a hearty portion for a lunch special because most places give you such a small portion. Dumplings with their homemade hot sauce was delicious. Service was a little slow but very friendly.

One of my favorite spots for comfort food. The garlic shrimp with glass noodles is so flavorful! Salt and pepper pork ribs, also flavorful! Cabbage and cauliflower soooo good! Everything here is flavorful! They also have fresh steamed fish! It's so good! Service is great, the owners are Fujianese. There's so good at cooking! I'm here whenever I get the chance! They have ample seating. Located where bulk daddy used to be and I'm not mad about it! Even the egg rice is really good! Very simple but so good! If i lived closer id come way more often!

Friendly. We came in on Christmas day and there were a few other customers. The owners greeted us and checked in during the meal. Their niche is being a Fuzhou restaurant. I had the salt and pepper tofu which was enjoyable. I'd consider returning in the future.

What a great find! We were in search of somewhere to eat for Christmas lunch and were so lucky to find Fangs. The homemade dumpling sauce is delicious! The hot and sour soup is fantastic and the orange chicken has great flavors. The owner is so sweet! We will be back!

Wow! I am so delighted to find this place! I am very impressed with the quality of the food and can't wait to try more dishes. I heard about this place having Fujianese dishes and since my ancestors are from there I really had to try it out. I loved everything we ordered but some standouts for me are the steamed fish with soy sauce. I haven't had anything like this (specifically the soy sauce gravy and the flavor notes) outside of Malaysia so it reminds me of home. The egg tofu is house made which you can definitely tell. It's soft and tasty. The salt and pepper pork ribs were really good too. It was actually the wrong dish but we kept it anyway since we liked it haha. The garlic shrimp is good and comes with vermicelli noodles at the bottom which is authentic. It's nice but only if you like garlic because there is A LOT of it!! The service is amazing too the owner Vicky came to help us portion the fish out and we have a toddler with us so she was telling us what had bones and didn't. She's very thoughtful and you will not regret visiting this place!

Excellent! Most dishes are prepared with rice flour or sweet potato starch. Really special!

This place is absolutely made for a group outing, and we're already planning to come back with a group to take full advantage. The food was a delight. The Singapore noodles had this wonderful curry flavor that I absolutely loved, and the combo fried rice was just as satisfying. We also ordered the Peking duck (P1 on the menu). It was good, though not quite as flavorful on its own as we'd hoped. That said, once you load it up with the hoisin, cucumber, and spring onions, it all comes together beautifully. The bao buns that came with it were soft and delicious, honestly a highlight. We also sipped on hot jasmine tea throughout, which was the perfect, refreshing complement to the whole meal. A solid spot with great vibes, tasty dishes, and room to grow on us even more with a return visit.

The bbq pork and roasted pork was okay. The bbq pork was lacking flavor and the roasted pork was not very juicy. Overall, we liked majority of our dishes. He always takes care of us and knows just what to recommend. Pretty sure he sees us and just puts in the duck order at this point. Anyways, the pea shoots are basically one of the only vegetables I love to eat and I'm always so happy to see it on the menu here. All of the dishes are great and you really can't go wrong. But regardless, we didn't have enough skin so asked if we can get 2 more skins, even if we had to pay for them. The waitress barked at us that it comes in 10-pks and that she can't get us just 2 pieces. Fine, but there's no need to be annoyed and roll your eyes at us. The service was much to be desired. We ordered the A-Choy vegetable and it was awful, old and yellow and not cooked well. It's like they didn't sauté it in a hot enough wok so it wasn't crispy. So disappointing this time. Don't get me wrong, the Peking Duck and the soup that comes with it were still pretty good. Thus the second star.

We have dined at this location often over the last five years. Our recent visit (yesterday…read moreevening)was less than satisfying. We were seated ( party of four)next to a larger table in the corner of the restaurant. When we ordered, they only took our appetizer order and we had to wait a long period of time before they would take our entree order. During this time, a large table next to us filled up with 6 people who were making so much noise that our table could not even hear each other's conversation. The larger table occupants were loud, rude , and obnoxious. We asked our waitress to do something and the wait staff ignored our request to intervene on our behalf for calmer demeanor from them. Finally , someone from my table had to address this personally and confronted the loud group and asked if they could tone down their enthusiasm so we, and other patrons, could enjoy our evening at the restaurant. They only cut the noise for a few minutes and started again with the loud voices and over boisterous laughter . We were greatly disappointed with the staff and the overall establishment. We normally have a nice dinner with the attentive wait staff and enjoy our menu choices. Because our concerns were not addressed, we don't feel respected and wonder if we will dine again here.
