    Pesto fusilli
    Tayler M.

Yum!! My girlfriend and I split the focaccia, beets and avocado, pesto fusilli, carrots and Wagyu short rib dishes. To make this short and sweet, they were 10/10. The focaccia was MASSIVE! Did not expect that and the flavors bold. The pesto fusilli was so so good, the pesto was fresh and the cashews and peppers gave a great crunch. We got carrots over whipped feta as a side that was soooo tasty. The short rib was perfectly cooked and the greens on the side were a good addition. We dined on the patio and the ambiance was perfect. Great date night spot or GNO!

Sister is becoming a Christmas tradition. I love their modern take on Italian food. For starters, everything is meant to be shared. So for foodies, come with a group and try as much as you can! Beware, there is really no coursing. If you don't want everything at once, pace your server and don't order everything at once. The service, while friendly, does feel a bit like NASCAR with constant urgency. I get it, they are popular and busy. Ahh the food! The Za'atar focaccia is a must have. We also ordered the Arugula and Fennel Salad and Beets and Avocado. If you are not a huge fan of beets, definitely go with the former. It's a ton of beets! The Veal and Pork Meatballs were also tasty and the focaccia was handy to mop up the sauce. For pasta, we shared the pesto fusilli and the white Amatriciana. Both were tasty, but I preferred the white creamy sauce of the Amertriciana over the fusilli. The Wagyu beef was incredibly tender and a fantastic finale for our flavorful meal. Cocktails: tequila mockingbird and Old Fashioned. Amazing! They use clear ice, which is a detail I love in a cocktail bar.

I treated myself on a solo date here and had such an enjoyable experience! Leslie i believe was my waitresses name and she was great for my overall experience especially with it being my 1st time. I started off with the pear drink. I saw pictures online where it was accompanied with a dried pear which mine didn't have. It tasted good, was light on the alcohol imo and wasn't unforgettable. I ordered everything from each subsection of the menu. I started off with the INCREDIBLE focaccia. This thing was humungous, the olive oil which had an incredible olive flavor to it was divine!! I ordered their home made pasta which had a creamy sauce and pancetta. It was a little lukewarm but still enjoyable. I ordered a side of the potatoes, carrots and the wagyu short rib. The short rub is sous vide and cooked medium rate. However, my waiter graciously allowed me to order to medium which was much appreciated. The dish has a lot of flavors going on in the dish but the sour apple puree hit me by surprise. It was went well with the protein and I throughly enjoyed it. The accompanying salad was a little sweet for me but was still good! I loved the carrots which I thought was going to be really sweet with the apricots but everything was perfect. The potatoes had a lot of flavor profiles going on there as well. It was a lot for one person and pretty much every dish so please don't overdue it or go with people and share haha. Lastly, I ordered the lemon panna cotta without blueberry compote and the chocolate cake with espresso ice cream. That ICE CREAM WAS AMAZINGG. It was the most balanced ice cream, delicate in flavor, creamy and added the perfect sweetness to the cake. The panna cotta was an enjoyable texture but a little bit on the lemony side for me. I do wish the lemon flavor wasn't too forward but because I'm allergic to berries I can definitely see how the compote aids with the tartness. Service was top notch and I felt welcomed by my waitress who explained the menu well, listened to my allergies and was accommodating and even gave me a nice treat at the end of my meal which I greatly appreciated. Hostesses could be a little more friendly, they did look miserable and didn't acknowledge me when I came in and told them my name and reservation time. They simply looked away as if they didn't hear me and I waited over a min for one of the hostesses to grab a menu and seat me outside. I don't need a smile but simple acknowledgment would've been nice. The inconsistency with the pear drink and the panna cotta were factors into why my review wasn't a complete 5. Aside from this, if you haven't dined here, I would recommend. I came for a solo dinner date but it's also perfect for a birthday dinner, date night, girl's dinner or whatever occasion. I waited 3 years to try it and hitting myself for not going sooner. Texture is a big thing for me and I feel like they execute that well among the experience of eating food. It's an art, believe me lol. I could see this restaurant doing seasonal options with local or national flavors and that would be cool to see. I'll definitely be back!!

This will be one of my go to spots when I'm visiting dallas. The food hear is amazing and is perfect for a date night or for a great catch up with close friends. It's so cozy and has tons of food options. For dinner we had the pasta, roasted carrots, a nice glass of wine and the fish. The plates are shareable and perfect for two people. The staff is nice as well they are very attentive and made great recommendations.

Finally, a place that lives up to the hype! We made reservations to visit Sister on a Saturday night and parked valet. We were seated near the entrance, but it was still comfortable. I tried the Spirit Animal and it's a skip for me. The bergamot liquor overpowers everything else. The Aloe-ways Love You is much better. Now on to the dinner menu. The eggplant frites was delicious, and not as greasy as other places. The broccoli is incredible and a must try dish. It's a good texture and sautéed well. The potatoes taste good, but they are dry so it's better to balance them with something like the broccoli. The wagyu short rib is a star dish. The meat was tender and, as everything else, packed with flavor. The clam vongole...I recommend staggering the dishes. Our short rib, pasta, and sides came out at the same time. That could be the reason why the pasta didn't stand out as much. The chocolate custard cake is slightly spongy, and would taste better if it were served hot. However, the espresso ice cream more than makes up for it. Service was stellar and personable!

Absolutely loved Sister! The food was spectacular. My favorites were the akaushi hanger steak, bluefin tartare, and clams vongole! But everything else we tried was just as delicious. Service was attentive and friendly, and the atmosphere is lively yet cozy. The perfect spot for a night out. Can't wait to come back, another winner by Duro!

Came recently for dinner and had a great experience. The ambiance was lively with the restaurant being packed! Our waitress was incredibly nice and helped up make our choices for the night. Started off with drinks then for appetizers, we had the veal & pork meatballs. In my opinion they were a bit dry and just okay. However portion size, it was a good sized appetizer. The wild "boaranaise" was one of my favorite items I had that night. It was perfectly cooked and the flavor was perfection. For mains, I got the wagyu short rib and akaushi hanger steak. Both were delicious however the short rib definitely took 1st place- the mix of apples, greens and short ribs was amazing. Also for dessert, the ricotta cheese cake was one of the best desserts I've had in a long time. Truly innovative, beautiful and flavorful. I also got to try the blood orange sorbet which was a perfect way to end the dinner. Overall the service was great, the food was delicious and I will be back soon!

One of the best meals I've ever had. Imagine taking your first bite of each dish and saying wow after. Sooooo good! Also, customer service was amazing. Our waitress has great recommendations on taste and portions as we shred everything. I will be back very soon!

I absolutely love Sister! It's great for special occasions or just a good meal with friends and family. I've been here several times and there isn't a dish that I've tried and not liked. The bolognese and Wagyu short rib are the standouts for me. The drinks are just as good as the food. I love the mezcal cocktail and espresso martini. The restaurant itself is super cute and The service is top notch! If you want cute pics, make sure you ask to reserve a booth.

So the service is amazing. The ambiance is really nice for a cozy date night and their wine list is extensive! If you want to try something that's just more on the original side, go here! BUT! And this is a BIG BUT, please look at the menu first. A LOT of the options are very dependent on your tastes. For example, I didn't enjoy anything on the starters list. We tried the beet salad and octopus. While these are likely the best beet salad and best octopus around, it just wasn't for me. I only enjoyed one thing on the menu and it was the wagyu. Everything was prepared BEAUTIFULLY as well! I do absolutely recommend! Not an ideal spot for children though.

The worse pasta I've ever had in my life

This place is absolutely beautiful and stunning inside. The wait staff are sweet and knowledgeable and attentive. The food is oh so confused and god awful. The manicotti is really an enchilada, with corn and jalapeño aioli, absolutely barely any lobster in there. The yellowfin was good but mostly jicama and cucumbers, and the massive crunchy chips tasted like a Mexican wheat snack. The Redfin was very dry over cooked and fishy, and how in the world can a short rib be rare and burnt at the same time?? Most of the cocktails are tequila based yet they claim to be Italian / Mediterranean. I think sister is having a real identity crisis. The bread is NOT FOCACCIA in any way shape or form and comes out scalding hot with no serving utensils and is rather awkwardly huge. With sesame seeds?? Where are we? The pita and tahini desperately needed salt which of course is not on the table. I highly recommend ownership reviewing the chefs menu choices and either deciding that you're high end expensive Mexican interior or do some hard inside work and look at all the obviously Mexican cuisine influences on this Italian menu.

Service was phenomenal, our waitress was so sweet and recommended a beautiful wine pairing to our meal. Even the valet outside was so sweet and nice. Food was heavenly. To start we ordered the Tuna Tartare and it was a great mix of umami and spice. The main courses were phenomenal, and I recommend their Lobster Pasta, I believe it was a special but was so so decadent.

To begin, I would not recommend using their valet even though it is free, because they seem to only have one person working it so it takes forever for them to take your car. We had to wait for over 10 minutes for the valet guy to come back to his post, meanwhile I'm stopped in the middle of the street with car having to drive around me. It would have been much faster to just park in their garage which is also free for I think 2 hours once validated by the restaurant. The valet also didn't have a system for keeping track of the cars, no key tag, number to text, or anything, he just asked for my name and said he would remember me. That didn't seem like the safest process to me. Not to mention, when we picked our car up he just gave me the key to drive it off from the space myself instead. Valet aside, the restaurant was really nice inside and had good balance of not quite fine dining, but also not too casual, which is what I was looking for. They also decorated for the holidays and the red bows overhanging were a nice touch. As an Italian restaurant, they had plenty of pasta options however our entire table decided to go with the waitress recommended Pollo Parmesan. I think we all were interested in the fact that it contained both red and white sauce, so it allowed us to have the best of both worlds. I wasn't sure how it would mix well at first, but it ending up complementing each other nicely. Lastly, the ladies also appreciate that they provided a bag hanger for their purses. I would like to come back to try their other dishes, I just won't waste time using valet again.

But what really made the experience unforgettable was our server, Leigh. She went above and beyond in every way possible. She didn't just explain the menu- she told a story. From the background of the owner to the details of each dish, you could tell how much care and passion went into everything. She checked in at all the right moments, made sure we had everything we needed, and genuinely cared that we loved each bite. And the food... wow. It transported me to Italy. We started with the arugula salad with bresaola dressed with lemon - super refreshing - paired with the arancini. The bread dipped in the sauce was insane: perfectly crisp on the outside, with rich, flavorful rice inside. We shared the triangoli ravioli stuffed with ricotta and topped with mushroom, hazelnut, and parmesan, and it was incredible. The hazelnut added the perfect crunch and nutty depth. Then came the tagliatelle with wagyu bolognese--perfectly balanced, rich, and made even better with clearly homemade pasta. We finished savory dishes with the veal saltimbocca, and I swear it made me feel like I was sitting in Rome. The sauce was incredible, and the sage really brought everything together. But the true showstoppers? Dessert. My Italian grandma said the cannolo was the best she's ever had - and that says everything. Light, crisp, and not overly sweet. Then the chocolate dessert with olive oil and sea salt... I went in for two bites and somehow finished the entire thing without realizing. Easily the best chocolate dessert I've ever had. This place is out of this world. Would order all of these dishes again. In a city full of restaurants, this is one I will come back to every single time I'm in Dallas. Absolutely 5 stars. Brava.

I visited on a Wednesday evening with a comfortably moderate crowd; on busier nights you may want a reservation. I started with the fried calamari and a glass of wine. Presumably meaning wine, but we were considering cocktails and a bit confused by the question. He said "I'll come back when you're ready," and disappeared for the first of many long absences. From the beginning it felt like we were ruining his life. He was cheerless and curt and wouldn't make eye contact with anyone. It would be more understandable if the restaurant was super busy or understaffed. But this was Monday at 6 pm. We listed a birthday on the reservation, but it wasn't acknowledged. Why bother to ask if we are celebrating? We waited for empty plates and glasses to be cleared between courses. We waited a long time for him to return so we could order a second glass of wine. Even longer for the plates to be cleared and longer still for the opportunity to order dessert...a piece of cake for the birthday girl and two after dinner drinks...but the drinks weren't picked up from the bar when the cake was delivered, and only remembered when we asked for the check. We watched him pick them up (well after the cake was consumed) on his way to leave the bill. No mention that they had been overlooked, no thank you, no good night. This was our first time at Barsotti's and it will be our last. Aside from the awful service, we had issues with the food as well. The veal was pounded paper thin and fried hard resulting in a tough, chewy texture similar to dried beef or jerky. It was dry and overcooked on two different dishes. On a more positive note, we enjoyed the fried ravioli appetizer and the redfish was fine. While our waiter was largely MIA and unpleasant when he did show up, the bus boy/assistant was gracious and attentive. Maybe he was trying to compensate for his colleague. BTW, the offensive employee was in his late 40s to mid 50s with a slight build and salt and pepper hair.
