Easily the best meal I've had in Texas. From start to finish, the experience was incredible. I arrived about 40 minutes before closing and still received stellar customer service. I sat at the bar, and the bartender, Stephanie, was just absolutely wonderful. So welcoming and so hospitable and she makes one hell of a gin lemon drop martini. I already knew what I wanted by the time I sat down. I started with the whipped eggplant which was absolutely divine. It's fluffier and lighter than hummus and... Well, I think I actually prefer it over hummus. And I love hummus! This dish was so simple but so good. Lightly but intentionally seasoned, whipped to fluffy perfection and served with some chewy, hot puccia bread (if you don't know what that is, just think if lavosh and roti had a love child... it's kinda like that). I could have eaten just that and been perfectly happy. Fortunately, there was more to come. I ordered the Alaskan halibut and Stephanie asked what temperature I wanted it prepared at. I thought that was a question only reserved for tuna steaks. Fortunately, she recommended medium-well and that was a great choice. It had a gentle crust on the outside and was perfectly chewy and delicious on the inside. The tomato sauce underneath it was divine and the diced pears were a surprisingly good flavor and texture addition to the dish. Don't knock it until you've tried it. I never would have put tomato sauce and pears together but oh my goodness.... It was incredible. Keep in mind that I received both this incredible food and this outstanding service shortly before closing time, when most other establishments would be winding down and getting ready to wrap up for the evening. I have to reiterate that this was the best meal, and the best dining experience, I've had during my time in Texas. If you are anywhere near this restaurant, it is well worth a visit. read more

My friends and I tried this restaurant for the first time last night and I can't say that any of us were impressed or would return. First, group reservations of 5 require a credit card to hold ($25 each), fine. The restaurant looks lovely, money was well spent on the decor, outdoor patio and bar area. They were out of the filet mignon and fish, which four of us wanted to order- and it was only 6:30pm on a Saturday night! So you're basically forced to each pasta and pizza. It feels like they are really cheating out with overpriced lesser dishes. My friend promptly returned his drink, which was recommended by the waitress- a combination of red wine and tequila?! The fig and arugula pizza was good, nothing crazy, the short rib pasta was good, nothing crazy but needed more spice, the asparagus was fine., nothing special. The final act that ticked us off was when the charged my friend $16 for bottled water for the table, which none of asked for, the waitress explained that she was expected by the owner to serve it. The table was never told and was not provided a filtered water option- this is something they automatically charge without asking! Only after disputing the charge vigorously did they remove it. Have you ever been to a restaurant where you had an amazing server, only to watch the manager fire them mid-shift? Well, that happened to us today. Andre was an absolutely amazing server for our table of seven. He was attentive, friendly, professional, and made our brunch experience fantastic. Unfortunately, everything changed when the manager fired him in the middle of our meal. What made the situation even more uncomfortable was that the manager felt the need to explain the details of why Andre was being fired to us. Regardless of the circumstances, handling the situation this way was extremely unprofessional and completely inappropriate in front of paying customers. We went from having an amazing brunch to sitting in an uncomfortable and awkward situation that had nothing to do with us. Lyla lost an amazing server today, and unfortunately, they also lost several well-paying customers. Management should seriously reconsider how situations like this are handled. Employees deserve professionalism and respect, and customers deserve to enjoy their experience without being pulled into internal employee matters. read more

We had 3 delicious beverages (they have a mocktail menu!) but the tequila/wine/cola drink was our favorite--such an interesting combo! We shared the the lamb rack plate and margarita pizza. I kept seeing LYLA all over my feed so I finally went, and honestly it does feel like you're not even in Dallas, it's very like Italian beach club vibes. Service was actually really good, everyone was super nice and even the general manager came over to check on us which I didn't expect. We got the burrata first and that was easily one of my favorite things. It's not just a plain burrata, it comes with a bunch of stuff like prosciutto, pistachios, some orange slices, way more going on than I thought. It's also pretty big so you can share it. And it comes with sliced sourdough bread that's grilled with olive oil and that part... so good, I loved it. Then we got the cacio e pepe with shrimp. The pasta tasted fresh, like actually homemade, and we added shrimp, it only came with three but they were huge and cooked perfectly. It also had a little truffle in there which made it even better. We also tried the salmon with quinoa and that one surprised me, the sauce under it was really good and they got the temperature right, I asked for medium and it came out perfect. Cocktails were nice too, they have a lot of options and everything looked really good. Overall I'd go back for sure. It's more about the vibe than just the food. Celebrated their Galentine's Dinner special: purchase a drink, receive a meal for free. I purchased the Be Mine drink. Really cute and perfectly mix flavors. Not too strong, not too weak. Oh boy.... our party of 9 had a reservation scheduled for 9:15pm Saturday night. Our party arrived as early as 8:30p with the last guests (birthday girl & driver) arrived right at 9:15p. We were told our table was not ready -- because they'd given it to a non-reservation group of women (yes, them) -- so we'd have to wait a little longer. A little longer became 45 minutes. We were not sat until 10:15p!!! Once sat, it took about 15 minutes to even get our drink orders so at the same time, we ordered our dinner. A bartender named Stefanie came to our table and brought us a bottle of Prosecco we did NOT ask for and proceeded to tell the waitress she gave us a bottle (for free) yet the manager overheard them and said no, we cannot do that. FINE! Come get the bottle off our table since it hasn't been opened. Do you think she did that? No. She continued to ignore our table. Everything took FOREVER -- while most of the patrons were GONE out of the restaurant. We didn't receive checks until 11:08p (no exaggeration). Food was absolutely MID. A pepperoni pizza shouldn't taste so stale after being freshly made. I felt discriminated against the entire night at this place. Not a fan, won't be back. My sisters, if you know, YOU KNOW. The standout items to me were the salmon, truffle fries, and cocktails. The mimosa flight is a good deal and they were generous with the juice options. We got a steak & egg pizza which I was really excited for but ended up being extremely disappointed because what came out was a pizza with scrambled eggs and some pieces of steak with a mountain of arugula on top. They offered a "complimentary" 3-course snack experience with the purchase of a drink. I don't recall the drink purchase being advertised when the promotion was first announced, but we proceeded with the experience anyway. I ordered the "Peach No Party" mocktail (peach purée, raspberry, citrus) which was refreshing, light, and perfect for a no-alcohol night. Now let's talk food The Truffle Fries were delicious ,crispy, flavorful, and easily my favorite bite of the night. The Chicken Picatta was very flavorful and paired well with the side salad that accompanied the plate. I will say... I was expecting pasta and a slightly bigger portion. But taste was on point. The portion however, could've been more generous. The cupcake was a NO GO for me. It was hard and tasted very store-bought and refrigerated. That was the only real miss. Overall, I do like the concept they were attempting to achieve. It felt thoughtful and curated for a fun girls' night out. This is another Dallas spot that's very well decorated and instagrammable, but the quality of the food doesn't match up to the rest. This was my second time there and this has been the case both times. We had a reservation for a birthday brunch and the service was good. We were seated outside and the hostess made sure we had everything we needed and explained the menus clearly. Our server also did a great job and was very attentive. The place wasn't very busy so it was very calm and relatively quiet which we enjoyed. However, our food and drinks did take longer than expected to come out for some reason. The food was underwhelming. None of us were impressed and we had to request salt and pepper because a lot of it was bland. When we requested hot sauce we were told they ran out (at 1pm on a Sunday when they weren't busy). We decided to just let it be and not complain, but one of my friends ended up sending her food back because she asked for her ribeye medium rare and it came back almost well-done. The new one wasn't any better. I got the breakfast plate with the waffle and just like everything else it was kind of bland, and the waffle was doughy. Most of us just kind of picked at our food and focused on enjoying each other's company. The server was very nice and noticed how we weren't satisfied with the food so they brought us a dessert on the house (not sure if they would've done that for the birthday anyway but it was nice). We chose the olive oil cake and it tasted good, but was a little on the dry side, which is surprising since oil cakes are by default very moist. And to seal the deal, there were price discrepancies between their menu and what we were charged. Since it was only a couple of dollars we just let it go since we wanted to get out of there. We just didn't think complaining about anything would be worth our time. All in all, ambiance and service is good, but the food makes it not worth it in our opinion. read more

Came here for Sunday brunch. We got lucky with street parking, otherwise you have to pay $7 (after validation) for valet in the lot across the street. Their information is a little misleading, thus we thought brunch ended at 4pm as stated on their website, but were told it ended at 3pm. Our reservation was at 2:45pm so we had to rush to order and those in are party who arrived late had to order from their regular menu. Outside of that, their service was really good (it was not busy), and they had a nice, fresh atmosphere. I forgot to take pictures unfortunately, but their food was good across the table. Not the best, but definitely satisfactory. I had their French toast with a side of eggs and bacon. I would come back, perhaps for dinner next time to try their pastas. read more

Me and my homegirls came here for a celebratory meal. The ambiance of the restaurant is Instagram worthy and the drinks are delicious. Please note the prices have increased since they have last updated their online menu (11/2025), with that being said, the food wasn't necessarily to die for. I got the SPICY ORECCHIETTE with grilled chicken. It was okay, nothing memorable but it wasn't terrible. For my non drinking girlies, they do offer mocktails, so that's a plus. Our waiter was pretty cool, he came around checking on us often. We went around 4:15ish on a Saturday and they weren't busy at all. I would still come back even if it's just for drinks and pizza. Foodie Alert! Lyla is without a doubt a beautiful restaurant with a stunning aesthetic--that's honestly the real highlight. However, the food and overall experience didn't live up to the atmosphere at all! I ordered the Prosecco, which was unpleasant in taste, it was extra extra dry and bitter, almost like a brut. I'm a Prosecco girly and I'm used to it being a little dry, fruity and refreshing. The lamb meatballs were overly spicy with no real seasoning. I also had the truffle pasta, which seemed promising at first, but they added chicken I didn't request, which threw off the flavor. Later in the night, I began feeling sick--so something I ate didn't sit well with me. Our server wasn't very attentive. He overlooked a few of our requests, assumed we were all paying on one check without asking, and even took away our appetizers while we were still eating. That left us feeling rushed and overlooked. One bright spot: the truffle fries were actually pretty good--I'll give them that. Overall, I'd rate this visit 3 out of 5 stars, mainly for the ambiance. I returned to Lyla last night after a little over a year since my last visit. I remember being really impressed the first time, but looking back, that might've just been the champagne talking, LOL. This time around, things didn't quite live up to the hype. I started with the burrata, and was super disappointing. It came with plain white bread, like actual Wonder Bread, and it wasn't even toasted or warm. No crunch to it whatsoever. For an $18 appetizer, that felt lazy. The highlight of the dish was actually the oranges with pistachios. Next was the truffle pasta, which I'd been especially excited for because I loved it during my first visit. Sadly, it fell flat. There were barely any truffles. It was basically just fettuccine alfredo. For the same price as a dish at Eataly, where they load you up with truffle, it felt like a letdown. You couldn't even see or taste them. Lame. The service was painfully slow. It took our waitress about 20 minutes just to greet us, another 20 to take our drink order, and another 20 for water, etc. It was 7pm on a Saturday, and didn't seem understaffed. That said, a few people (possibly managers?) did stop by our table to check in, which I appreciated. The one thing Lyla still nails is the vibe. The ambiance is beautiful, and I saw a lot of girls taking cute pictures at the entrance--definitely Instagram-worthy. It started raining while we were on the patio, but they pulled down screens to keep us dry, which was a nice touch.
