I kept seeing LYLA all over my feed so I finally went, and honestly it does feel like you're not even in Dallas, it's very like Italian beach club vibes. Service was actually really good, everyone was super nice and even the general manager came over to check on us which I didn't expect. We got the burrata first and that was easily one of my favorite things. It's not just a plain burrata, it comes with a bunch of stuff like prosciutto, pistachios, some orange slices, way more going on than I thought. It's also pretty big so you can share it. And it comes with sliced sourdough bread that's grilled with olive oil and that part... so good, I loved it. Then we got the cacio e pepe with shrimp. The pasta tasted fresh, like actually homemade, and we added shrimp, it only came with three but they were huge and cooked perfectly. It also had a little truffle in there which made it even better. We also tried the salmon with quinoa and that one surprised me, the sauce under it was really good and they got the temperature right, I asked for medium and it came out perfect. Cocktails were nice too, they have a lot of options and everything looked really good. Overall I'd go back for sure. It's more about the vibe than just the food. We were a little disappointed because we went on Friday afternoon because the website said they had a great happy hour. When we arrived they said oh we don't do happy hour on Fridays. that's why we came. Ended up ordering 2 items from appetizer menu. Lamb meatballs tiny pieces with toast 19.00 really! Good but sauce was super spicy and I love spicy but the average person couldn't have enjoyed them. Great presentation. Burrata with prosciutto! Needed a drizzle of Evoo was a bit dry and not creamy high quality. It was served with grilled bread which begged for some type of dipping sauce with the dish. I think it had 2 orange slices but overall ate dry. Disappointed as it could have been an excellent dish with a little more attention to detail. Celebrated their Galentine's Dinner special: purchase a drink, receive a meal for free. I purchased the Be Mine drink. Really cute and perfectly mix flavors. Not too strong, not too weak. The food was yummy! Small bite plates but really good food and flavors. Service was quick then slow then quick then slow again that was confusing. Nevertheless our waitress was wonderful when present. Explained the special in detailed, explain the small plates and offered to bring the regular menu out. I'd definitely try the restaurant again to get a true feel for the service and food on a regular non-special night. One sour note was the parking. The parking said $7. Upon requesting the car to pay it stated $39. When given the code for validation it reduce it to $8.81, not $7! Why is there fees attached to parking??? That's crazy and not cool. They offered a "complimentary" 3-course snack experience with the purchase of a drink. I don't recall the drink purchase being advertised when the promotion was first announced, but we proceeded with the experience anyway. I ordered the "Peach No Party" mocktail (peach purée, raspberry, citrus) which was refreshing, light, and perfect for a no-alcohol night. Now let's talk food The Truffle Fries were delicious ,crispy, flavorful, and easily my favorite bite of the night. The Chicken Picatta was very flavorful and paired well with the side salad that accompanied the plate. I will say... I was expecting pasta and a slightly bigger portion. But taste was on point. The portion however, could've been more generous. The cupcake was a NO GO for me. It was hard and tasted very store-bought and refrigerated. That was the only real miss. The restaurant is gorgeous and definitely has the Instagram aesthetic. We went for brunch and service was quick. They had a separate brunch cocktail and food menu on top of their normal menu. The standout items to me were the salmon, truffle fries, and cocktails. The mimosa flight is a good deal and they were generous with the juice options. We got a steak & egg pizza which I was really excited for but ended up being extremely disappointed because what came out was a pizza with scrambled eggs and some pieces of steak with a mountain of arugula on top. This is another Dallas spot that's very well decorated and instagrammable, but the quality of the food doesn't match up to the rest. This was my second time there and this has been the case both times. We had a reservation for a birthday brunch and the service was good. We were seated outside and the hostess made sure we had everything we needed and explained the menus clearly. Our server also did a great job and was very attentive. The place wasn't very busy so it was very calm and relatively quiet which we enjoyed. However, our food and drinks did take longer than expected to come out for some reason. The food was underwhelming. None of us were impressed and we had to request salt and pepper because a lot of it was bland. When we requested hot sauce we were told they ran out (at 1pm on a Sunday when they weren't busy). We decided to just let it be and not complain, but one of my friends ended up sending her food back because she asked for her ribeye medium rare and it came back almost well-done. The new one wasn't any better. I got the breakfast plate with the waffle and just like everything else it was kind of bland, and the waffle was doughy. Most of us just kind of picked at our food and focused on enjoying each other's company. The server was very nice and noticed how we weren't satisfied with the food so they brought us a dessert on the house (not sure if they would've done that for the birthday anyway but it was nice). We chose the olive oil cake and it tasted good, but was a little on the dry side, which is surprising since oil cakes are by default very moist. And to seal the deal, there were price discrepancies between their menu and what we were charged. Since it was only a couple of dollars we just let it go since we wanted to get out of there. We just didn't think complaining about anything would be worth our time. All in all, ambiance and service is good, but the food makes it not worth it in our opinion. read more

I had a fantastic dining experience at Lyla in Dallas. The shrimp was cooked perfectly fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. I also ordered the Caesar salad, which was crisp, well-balanced, and elevated with just the right amount of dressing. I substituted the Caesar dressing for the pepper corn vinaigrette, and it was delicious!!! The cocktails were excellent creative, well-crafted, and absolutely worth trying. Food was honestly good but nothing crazy. I came with a group of about 20 people so I understand the wait time for food and drinks but it did take a while for us to get drinks and food. More than 45 min but because it was a big group it's understandable. I shared the truffle fries, burrata and got the salmon for myself. Fries and burrata were average and nothing crazy. I ate the burrata before taking a pic haha but I wish they had some tomatoes to go with it. The salmon was well seasoned and good but nothing too crazy. The vibes were great though. The blue lighting and ambiance was nice. I will come back with my girlfriend to see how it is but it was an okay place overall. Came here for Sunday brunch. We got lucky with street parking, otherwise you have to pay $7 (after validation) for valet in the lot across the street. Their information is a little misleading, thus we thought brunch ended at 4pm as stated on their website, but were told it ended at 3pm. Our reservation was at 2:45pm so we had to rush to order and those in are party who arrived late had to order from their regular menu. Outside of that, their service was really good (it was not busy), and they had a nice, fresh atmosphere. I forgot to take pictures unfortunately, but their food was good across the table. Not the best, but definitely satisfactory. I had their French toast with a side of eggs and bacon. I would come back, perhaps for dinner next time to try their pastas. read more

Foodie Alert! Lyla is without a doubt a beautiful restaurant with a stunning aesthetic--that's honestly the real highlight. However, the food and overall experience didn't live up to the atmosphere at all! I ordered the Prosecco, which was unpleasant in taste, it was extra extra dry and bitter, almost like a brut. I'm a Prosecco girly and I'm used to it being a little dry, fruity and refreshing. The lamb meatballs were overly spicy with no real seasoning. I also had the truffle pasta, which seemed promising at first, but they added chicken I didn't request, which threw off the flavor. Later in the night, I began feeling sick--so something I ate didn't sit well with me. Our server wasn't very attentive. He overlooked a few of our requests, assumed we were all paying on one check without asking, and even took away our appetizers while we were still eating. That left us feeling rushed and overlooked. One bright spot: the truffle fries were actually pretty good--I'll give them that. Overall, I'd rate this visit 3 out of 5 stars, mainly for the ambiance. The scene was very cool- some old scho club music subtly playing in the background , great ambience, service was top notch. The atmosphere is so warm, charming, and undeniably Instagrammable! The drinks were delightful, and I ordered the short rib Benedict. For my entree I ordered the spicy orecchiette, it was okay, not super flavorful or anything. I added salmon and it was cooked well. The pasta was a little "spicy" but I love spice so I didn't mind. The broccolini I ordered was overcooked and tasted burnt. The food took so long they were practically closed when it finally arrived. They didn't seem too busy.. we came on a random weekday. I returned to Lyla last night after a little over a year since my last visit. I remember being really impressed the first time, but looking back, that might've just been the champagne talking, LOL. This time around, things didn't quite live up to the hype. I started with the burrata, and was super disappointing. It came with plain white bread, like actual Wonder Bread, and it wasn't even toasted or warm. No crunch to it whatsoever. For an $18 appetizer, that felt lazy. The highlight of the dish was actually the oranges with pistachios. Next was the truffle pasta, which I'd been especially excited for because I loved it during my first visit. Sadly, it fell flat. There were barely any truffles. It was basically just fettuccine alfredo. For the same price as a dish at Eataly, where they load you up with truffle, it felt like a letdown. You couldn't even see or taste them. Lame. The service was painfully slow. It took our waitress about 20 minutes just to greet us, another 20 to take our drink order, and another 20 for water, etc. It was 7pm on a Saturday, and didn't seem understaffed. That said, a few people (possibly managers?) did stop by our table to check in, which I appreciated. The one thing Lyla still nails is the vibe. The ambiance is beautiful, and I saw a lot of girls taking cute pictures at the entrance--definitely Instagram-worthy. It started raining while we were on the patio, but they pulled down screens to keep us dry, which was a nice touch. Went here with a group of 4 girlfriends on a Friday night. It was quite difficult to get a reservation, and they had a very steep charge for no shows. There was still a long wait for us to get seated even after we arrived for our reservation, but upon walking in the ambience is incredible and very vibey. The pasta itself was tasty, but not the best I've had. My girlfriends and I all shared plates and the portions were generous. Wine was reasonably priced as well. I tried Lyla for the first time and if I'm being honest, it didn't quite live up to my expectations. I had heard so many good things about this place and it was highly recommended. The food was great, but something about the service was just off. We arrived and there was 1 person ahead of us that seemed to have difficulties with their reservation. We stood there 5 minutes or more with not even an acknowledgment or a quick "we'll be with you ladies in a moment." Our server was great. He was so knowledgeable and gave great recommendations, but everyone else that we interacted with that evening was just lacking. We waited quite a while for truffle fries and they came out cold. The person who brought them to our table walked away rather quickly so we had to wait a bit before we could even tell anyone that they were brought to us cold. The whipped eggplant was delicious and the brussel sprouts were great as well. Something about the service just seemed really slow. Then our dessert was brought out by someone else and I immediately asked if we could have 3 spoons since we were sharing. The employee told me that we had to ask our server for that. We didn't see our server for another 5+ minutes. It just seemed quite rude and unnecessary to have to wait for my server to get silverware. Why was that employee not able to assist? Like I said, the food was great so maybe service was just subpar that night. I'd be more than willing to try again. Very frustrating, underwhelming, and disappointing experience at Lyla tonight. We were excited to try multiple items on the menu but were given preset menus for Valentine's Day (we did get a text 3 days before but assumed main menu would still be available, too late to find a res at another nice restaurant anyway). We were also seated outside even though we specifically reserved inside dining (apparently inside is "first come first serve"). The kicker of this was that the items on the preset $65 menu were some of the cheapest dishes picked from the main menu, and totaled at most $46 if ordered on any other day (but maybe the complementary store-bought cupcake given to us at the end of dinner was worth almost $20). We sat in cramped tables outside and received average service. The only pleasure of the evening was laughing at this whole experience with my partner as we were so incredulous an "upscale" restaurant could provide such a poor experience. For entrees we split spicy orecchiette pasta and Caesar salad. The salad was delish and the croutons were fun. The pasta was great, good heat and perfectly cooked noodles. The ambiance is very cute in there! Sadly we didn't love any of the drinks we got... their martinis are tiny (not even filled to the top of the glass) and we couldn't taste any alcohol in it which is shocking for a martini. Please note the prices have increased since they have last updated their online menu (11/2025), with that being said, the food wasn't necessarily to die for. I got the SPICY ORECCHIETTE with grilled chicken. It was okay, nothing memorable but it wasn't terrible. For my non drinking girlies, they do offer mocktails, so that's a plus. Our waiter was pretty cool, he came around checking on us often. We went around 4:15ish on a Saturday and they weren't busy at all. I would still come back even if it's just for drinks and pizza.
