Starting out, I had Sunday brunch but there was a lot going on that weekend so for my birthday brunch most of my party was either late or did not show up due to unforeseen circumstances - the host was perfectly well equipped to help me out in making sure I had an unbelievable experience regardless. They adjusted the seating several times, they never told me or made me feel that I was not welcome. The food was phenomenal. The waitstaff were phenomenal. Just a 10 out of 10 experience. A lot of restaurants fail to understand, when we're coming out of the house to eat it's not just about what is on the plate. It's about the ambience, how well each diner is being treated and Avra went above and beyond. If I were ever in the neighborhood again, (I'm coming from out of town) then I would most certainly eat here and I would recommend -highly recommend- that others eat here as well if they want top level service, beautiful restaurant and delicious food. read more

Avra is easily one of the top restaurants in Dallas. Hands down! It's esthetically beautiful and the food is even better. Everything is so fresh!!! The fresh and simply prepared seafood is top tier. The unique Mediterranean concept with an in-house fish market presentation is an experience in itself. The team is very well educated about the flavor profiles of each, so you get a great description of anything you're unfamiliar with. All of the sides and appetizers are simply prepared and perfectly complement. We've visited 3-4 times and service is always immaculate. Food: We've tried the fried scorpion fish, lavraki, dorado, Nigerian Tiger prawns, barbounia, lobster spaghetti, and a couple others. All were phenomenal. Scorpion fish might be my fave. The fresh cut fries, Avra chips, and Skordalia dip are more highlights for me, but honestly I wouldn't hesitate to try anything....everything is just prepared so well. Came with my friend for an early dinner and we enjoyed our time here! Parking was super easy with valet and we were seated immediately upon arriving. The customer service was amazing throughout the evening and our waiter was very knowledgeable. We started out with a tour of their fish market and their options were plentiful and looked fresh. We decided on the Lavraki, Tsipoura, and Prawns. For starters, we ordered the calamari and yellowtail jalapeño. Both dishes were delicious and a perfect start to our meal! The mains came out and we paired it with grilled veggies and roasted potatoes. The fish was mild, flaky, and delicious and I loved the grilled flavor of the prawns! I also was thoroughly impressed with the roasted potatoes and veggies. We ended our meal with their homemade ice cream and it was delightful! Amazing Greek restaurant where we got a chance to try a variety of dishes and found some absolute favorites. Beautiful restaurant with elegant bar and dining area! Began with a gin cocktail and some appetizers. Their take on a Greek salad was spectacular with lots of fresh grilled veggies. Also enjoyed their trio of dips with a fantastic tzatziki! Then we enjoyed amazing grilled shrimp and tuna tartare which was so delicious and fresh! The main courses were a variety of their dishes - many meat which I don't eat but their Sea-bass was melt in your mouth and their vegetables were cooked to perfection. Finally they brought us a dessert tray with a variety of pastries and fruit! They told us their signature was baklava which I typically don't like but their version was spectacular and. It too sweet. Just wow. What an incredible experience. Went to lunch with a vendor here and was blown away. Silent service and incredible food. The tuna tartare was melt in your mouth. Grilled octopus had a perfect to the tooth texture. The grilled calamari is by far the BEST calamari I have ever had. I loved the international representation on the wine list. Mediterranean options were very smart. Will also say the linguini and clams was delicious. The texture from the breadcrumbs was a nice touch. Light on the clams, but thanks to the economy we're trapped in, it makes perfect sense for the price. Well done to you Avra. Yes, this is definitely a much higher price point than a daily visit but it is well worth it. I see this concept lasting in a fog of hype, instagram places. I have nothing but good things to say. A fantastic new Greek/Mediterranean venue that opened in September of 2025. We went there with a large group and everyone was thoroughly impressed with the service, the food, and the ambience. We started with drinks at the bar, which is beautifully appointed, and the bartenders were great. The restaurant menu is large with a mix of Mediterranean dishes, fresh fish, steaks chops, and many traditional Greek items. Most of the sides are a la carte. If you are considering fish, it includes a tour of the fresh fish cabinet, which is a large case full of ice and multiple different types of fresh fish and crustaceans. Wow! We ordered several for the table to eat family style. The Dover Sole was a huge hit, but everything was delicious. Try the carrabineros shrimp - fantastic. They have a great wine list, and our waiter was outstanding in helping us decide what to order. For dessert I highly recommend the butter cake, which was truly exceptional. Took a friend visiting Dallas to Avra, we had a reservation for 3 people at 8:30pm. We waited about 30 mins to be seated on the other side of the bar, where service was very slow. The complimentary hummus was nice, but the lavraki and octopus were underwhelming in flavor and small portions. We ordered a red snapper and other fish for the table, lobster pasta and the roasted potatoes. At the "fish market", we were quoted that the fish would be 2.5-3 lbs total, but when we received the bill, we were shocked to see 5lbs of fish charged. At $70+/lb, this is an outrageous upcharge. Even on the menu, it states 1lb/person recommended AND we supplemented with another entree (the lobster pasta which hardly has any meat in it). In addition, the fish had gamey-ness. Hummus 9/10: I believe it is complimentary and it was some of the best I've had. Fresh and served with pita slices and crackers. Not a fan of the crackers but loved the pita bread. French fries 8/10: yes I ordered French fries and they were delicious. Cooked perfectly and had a great texture. Classic spread 8/10: selected the htipiti, tzatziki and scordalia as our dips and these were so fresh. The tzatziki was my fav. Also served with pita and crackers. I preferred the pita and wish it was served with more because there were three dips. Salmon 9/10: the salmon and the vegetables were fresh and cooked perfectly. Avra is a must-try. The food and the ambiance definitely speak for themselves. While our waiter was great, the hostess and our seating rubbed us the wrong way. Let's start with the good : Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious . We started with the Greek salad and the yellowtail jalapeño. The sashimi was divine and the fish melted in your mouth. For entrees, my husband got the big eye tuna and I got the Lavraki. I highly recommend the Lavraki if you enjoy mild fish with a buttery finish . The truffle fries were also yummy. The 'fish market' is a fun experience . What was a bit off putting was the fact that I made a reservation the day prior . We arrived about 3 minutes before our scheduled time and the people in front of us did not have a reservation. The hostess told us she will check us in and to wait a bit while she 'finds us a table' and seated the other party first. In addition, they literally sat us right by the registers and kitchen door so there were constantly employees walking by me and almost bumping into me - just an odd place to seat someone. First I wish I remembered our servers name, he was wonderful. I know he was from Chile :) He took us to the fish market and explained every fish, texture, taste. I picked the Fagri fish. My husband got the tuna and my son ordered the lamb chops. We got truffle fries and were given hummus and pita bread to start. Everything was amazing! The decor is beautiful; very clean, upscale Mediterranean aesthetic and the house music in the background gave it that lively-but-not-overwhelming energy. It's a great spot to settle in, sip something good, and enjoy the atmosphere. Service was excellent. Attentive without hovering, friendly, and on top of refills and check-ins. That part of the experience absolutely delivered and made the meal more enjoyable. The drinks were a highlight. She had the Santorini Martini; it was refreshing and well-made, though definitely on the sweeter side if that's your preference. I went with the Omega Old Fashioned (a tequila + coffee cocktail), and honestly... that was the standout for me. Smooth, slightly smoky, and unique. I'd go back just for that. Appetizers were hit or miss. The hummus with crudité was really good creamy and flavorful. The yellowtail jalapeño was also solid and nicely balanced. The salmon caviar latkes were okay but leaned a bit bland; they needed something to elevate them. The mains were where things fell short, especially at $30-$50 per plate. The Faroe salmon was pretty flavorless and slightly overcooked. The grilled vegetables alongside it were basic and minimally seasoned. My caviar sandwich was good, but not memorable and at that price point, you expect memorable. Overall, this feels like a great place for drinks and a couple caviar-forward apps. The kitchen sent out a Greek salad that was basically just tomatoes, so Kevin had another one sent with no tomatoes so we could combine them. Avra is Dallas' latest foodie obsession, and after a weekday dinner with a friend, I get why. The service alone is brag-worthy; genuinely some of the most attentive and knowledgeable waiters I've ever had. They're personable in that "instant friend" way, so you actually trust their recs. They specialize in all things seafood, and if you can, walk the fish market in the back. It's a chic touch. Favorites for me were the Greek salad (added salmon) and the spicy tuna sticky rice. Both were perfectly seasoned, and the tuna especially is something I'd come back for over and over. Portions are big (so are the price tags), so tapas-style ordering makes the most sense. The food leans Greek/Mediterranean, and the space is cute, but honestly not as luxe as I expected given it's in the Crescent Court. Think more Sixty Vines or Te Deseo; still good, just different. Once we sat down, we were greeted by Kevin and he gave us an overview of the different types of seafood we can order and how it's prepared. We then were greeted with Pita Chip and Hummus with olives at the table. I had the sea bass which was wonderful. It had such immense flavors that blended well with the carrots and potatoes. My man had the lobster pasta which was so good! I loved how they plated the food especially the lobster pasta because it still had meat inside of the lobster tail and head. The ambiance is phenomenal- from the snazzy music to the beautiful interior. The hosts greeted us with extremely warm and welcoming smiles. They have a covered and uncovered patio with excellent lighting. The restaurant is nestled in the Crescent Court which is a great location for the area. The food is exquisite! *Chef's Kiss* We ordered the Jumbo Shrimp, and oh. my. goodness. You MUST try it as an appetizer- pictured below. The crab cake is phenomenal!! Cheesecake is great! Truffle fries are amazing. The Greek salad was literally one of the best salads I've had in a while. The dressing really put it over the top! The drinks were extremely tasty, too. The golden star certainly goes to our server, Christian!! His knowledge of the menu, the timing and attention for his tables, his passion for service-- simply him as a person is a total package. So my husband and I dined here last night. He was very excited about the opening in Dallas because he's been to one of the locations in New York and thought it fantastic! The Dallas location is located at Crescent Tower....It is very easy to find and parking is easy with valet! The entrance is stunning. You walk through the middle of the patio to get to the front door, which is lined with trees and beautiful pots, definitely keeping the Mediterranean vibe! We were greeted immediately upon entering, checked in for our reservation, and were seated quickly. Once seated, they bring over little triangles of pita bread with a plate of hummus drizzled in olive oil with some roasted red peppers and a few olives.... It is amazing! I started with the Garden of Diomidous cocktail, which I found outstanding! For appetizers, we were intrigued by the Chilean Seabass Souvlaki. This dish was simple but outstanding...it is basically three pieces of Seabass on a skewer with a delicious sauce, drizzled over it and a side salad. For dinner tonight, I had the Yellowtail Jalapeño Sashimi and Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice. I don't know if I can say enough good things about the Yellowtail Sashimi it was better than any I've ever had! The jalapeños are red (yum!) and they add these crispy slivers of seaweed that make the entire dish! Needless to say, I was very happy with my choices. My husband ordered the lamb chops, which is kind of his usual dish, but these he said were amazing. The meals seem to be just that a meal with no side dishes, so we ordered the creamy spinach and oregano fries to complement our meal. By the end of the meal we were stuffed, but of course, we saved just a smidge of room for dessert! Although all the choices sounded fabulous, we opted for the butter cake. To me this dessert was perfection. It wasn't too large for the two of us, and sugar on the outside was nice and sugary and crystallized and the amount of ice cream was perfect along with the caramel sauce. The other observation I had about this restaurant other than that it is stunningly beautiful was that they must have good sound absorption panels hidden somewhere because even though the restaurant was packed we could still hear each other easily. As a former restaurant designer, this is an important detail to me along with lighting, which was also perfect, and of course service, which was impeccable! We cannot wait to return! read more

As a native new yorker, I'm so glad that they opened a location in Avra. It's fancy but OH SO DELICIOUS. The decor transports you to Greece. I started with the tomatini which was good but I would try a dirty martini next time. We were also served complimentary hummus with radishes, pita, and olives. My husband and I shared a greek salad, avra chips, lavraki ceviche, a cooked lavraki filet, tiger prawns, and a side of roasted potatoes. I love that you can see and pick the fish you're going to order. I wouldn't have though to order the tiger prawns until I saw it staring at me (lol). They were huge but very flavorful. The greek salad and avra chips were the stars. The salad is simple and fresh but all the veggies and feta were phenomenal. The avra chips are very addicting. The hummus (the free starter) is admittedly excellent. It literally took me back to Israel in the first bite. But the other appetizers were anywhere from average to good. I thought the oyster mushrooms were really tasty, but the spinach was just meh. Now onto the fish... The "fish wall" isn't a new idea, and the selection isn't the largest I've seen. What's new is that you not only purchase them whole, but you pay by the pound .Then--get this--the fish is cooked whole first, and then fileted out in the dining room by your table. See a problem with this? Me neither at the start. Until I tasted it... so sad....bland as can be. Somewhat broken up (as it would be, being fileted off of a cooked fish) and flavorless. No butter, seasonings, sauces. What a disappointment, when my expectations were high for a $78.00 per pound fish described by the waiter as the "filet mignon of the sea". Overall, If you DO choose Avra, go with the menu entrees, and don't fall for the fish shtick. ;) read more

I had an incredible dining experience at Avra in downtown Dallas, and a huge part of that was thanks to our server, Elena she was absolutely exceptional. From the moment we sat down, Elena set the tone for the entire afternoon. She was warm, attentive, and impressively knowledgeable about the menu. Her recommendations were spot-on, and you could tell she truly understood the dishes and took pride in guiding our experience. The food itself was outstanding. The fish of the day was perfectly prepared rich, buttery, and beautifully seasoned. The lobster pasta was a 10/10, no question. It's the kind of dish you think about afterward the definition of a craving meal that would bring me back every single time. What really elevated the experience were the thoughtful touches and seamless service. The warm towelettes between courses were such a small but luxurious detail, and everything arrived with perfect timing.
