If I could rate it higher, I would! One of the best dinners I've had in my life! We got the chicken kabobs, baba ghanoush, grilled veggies, saffron rice, pita, and baklava. Every single dish was PERFECTLY cooked and seasoned. The chicken and veggies were seasoned with just enough spices where it had a slight kick, but not overpowering at all. A perfect balance to bring out the natural flavors of each item. The pita was perfection! Soft and warm, with a slight char on some of the pieces, which added such a beautiful bite with the hummus. Speaking of hummus, the Izmir hummus was silky smooth and incredible. I've had a lot of restaurant hummus and this one was MILES in ahead of them. We were looking for another restaurant and found this one along the way. They weren't going to be open for another five minutes, but they told us we could come in anyway which was very kind of them to do so. The interior is lovely and comfortable considering the Texas heat and the service was excellent. We ordered Chicken kabobs and they were juicy and tender and I couldn't get enough of their Persian rice. I will definitely come back when I'm in the area again. read more

This is hands down one of my favorite restaurants in Dallas. It's been here forever but I still think it's a hidden gem! They have the best hummus I have ever had and the prices are extremely reasonable for the amount of food you get! My friends and I went for dinner and they were so excited to have us and gave great recommendations. I've also done many pickup orders here and they're always SO nice. I recommend pretty much everything on the menu but the chicken kabob plate is my go to. It's a cozy small restaurant with good vibes. Parking can be kinda tricky (they do have a valet but I think you have to pay for it in addition to the tip). Sometimes you can find parking across the street! Seriously, go! Bring friends! Truly had the best time ! We went for a friend's birthday- there was like 13 ish of us and they were able to accommodate us easily. The restaurant is BYOB which is nice. The staff were all super friendly and the service was speedy. They do have $5 Valet out front which makes it easy to park. Food wise: the fresh pita bread is soo good!! Great food service and ambience. We started with 3 dips Izmir hummus, Eegra spicy eggplant and ziziki and they were served with fresh Pita. Ziziki was refreshing and hummus was fresh and creamy. I don't like eggplant but I can have eggplant in that dip form for sure and it was spicy and very flavorful. Then we order lamb roll, mom's saffron rice and the ground beef kabobs. Lamb roll was 4/5 and we had ground beef kabobs with some rice and dips and it was a great combo. Kabobs were well seasoned. Server recommended the Izmir special dessert and Turkish coffee. I decided to take my girl to Cafe Izmir for Valentine's Day dinner. Best decision ever! From the minute you walk in you're treated like family, everyone is so friendly. The Valentine's Day decorations were so cute and definitely added to the vibe. The food is always so good! They've added a few new items to the menu, don't skip the Burrata or the Chicken meatballs. I'm not usually a desert eater, but their Tiramisu is to die for! The service is spot on, as if they anticipate your needs, but not intrusive. When I say best meal in Dallas, I mean it. This is the FRESHEST and most flavorful meal I've had in years. We sat at a high top by the bar and could see the kitchen and the love they put into the food. Everything was amazing. We decided to get an app, three tapas, and spit an entree (there was 2 of us). It was perfect. The tapas portions were perfectly sized and the entree was the perfect size after some light bites. Moody lighting, not too loud, small restaurant so busy nights might have a wait. I arrived at the restaurant a little bit before 6:00pm on a Sunday. As I was waiting for a friend, I sat at the bar for a little while where I could chat with some of the staff. I liked the overall vibe of the restaurant. The music was in the GoldiLocks zone--not too loud and not too soft. I also liked the artwork on the wall. Upon being seated, my friend and I shared a few dishes. The first was a cheese plate appetizer. It was delicious especially the cranberry goat cheese--I cold only liken it to cranberry cheesecake. I ordered a lamb wrap and saffron chicken. The lamb wrap was okay--it came wrapped in a flour tortilla that appeared to have been store bought (maybe pita bread would have been a better wrap?). The chicken saffron was very tasty and was my favorite of the two main dishes. For desert, we shared baklava, which was quite good. The waiter told me that they make the baklava in house. Important note: my friend is a vegetarian and he loved the food. He found the restaurant to be very vegetarian friendly. The Large Chanouli Salad is absolutely insane.. the veggies are fresh as can be, the tabouli is off the charts, and the chicken and dressing are awesome. (There was a snafu with patio reservations on an unexpectedly wet & chilly Texas night and though they were crowded because of a nearby concert, they took really good care of us.) What I love most is that Cafe Izmir has great options for vegetarians and vegans, but also plenty of non-veggie choices too- Makes it a perfect choice for a diet diverse family or friend group outing. We've tried the pomegranate shrimp, the spicy eggplant (instant favorite!), hummus, the beef kebobs, saffron chicken kebobs, and the lamb roll. The veggie piroshki, falafel, olives, Turkish salad (so refreshing), and grilled vegetables are all delish too. When we arrived the cafe was packed with celebratory and intimate diners. We thought we might have to wait for a table, but the owner came right up to us and seated us at an intimate booth. Everything was phenomenal!!! The food, service, and ambience was above our expectations. The live music was just a perfect topping to an amazing experience. The staff was very knowledgeable about Gluten Free options and the GF falafel, rice, kabobs and dips were just yummy. The portions were more than we could eat for the date night option for 2. I could eat at Café Izmir every single day!!! I have been eating there since the late '90's! As a professional bellydancer I also danced there a couple of times! The hummus is absolutely amazing and addictive!!! They have three choices too - regular hummus, chipotle hummus and "date night" hummus (which has no garlic - I prefer the regular hummus). The babaganoush has a great flavor and texture. The tabouli salad is fresh and tangy. I am picky about falafel and I just so happen LOVE Café Izmir's! The veggie piroshkis are soooo delicious! And the dolmas too! I've had just about everything there but the last time I went I ordered something I had never had - the grilled lamb chops. I am sad that I have wasted so many years of not eating that amazing, delectable dish!!! The outside of the lamb chop was just the right crispiness and the inside cooked to perfection. Those alone are worth the drive to Dallas from Frisco! The customer service there is number ONE! Nick always waits on me there and he is so attentive and helpful, of course any server you get there will be the same! I used the catering service there once and it was wonderful.
