Atmosphere: Came on a whim on a Saturday night. This place was packed. Although we arrived before the rush, they had a lot of tables reserved and still the restaurant was full. Fortunately, they had some space on the patio. It was a hot night however they had couple fans to blow away some heat. Food: Started with a salad which was fresh, flavorful and with large chunks of beets, watermelon, and feta cheese. Great appetizer. My wife and I wanted to try a couple of items to share for the main entree, I had branzino. The whole fish, filleted, and grilled. The flavor was rich, without being overly salty nor too oily. The sides 1. Grilled Branzino - Served with quinoa arugula salad 2. Ali Nazik- Chargrilled lamb shish over smoked eggplant puree served with bean salad on the side Both were fantastic. The lamb was cooked just right and turned out moist and tender. The eggplant puree was a great texture; neither too smooth to lose its integrity nor too chunky. The staff was attentive and helpful. Verdict: 9/10: Would definitely go back but with a reservation or in a mindset to sit in the heat on the patio. Also, the deboning process for the fish could've used a little more care, but that didn't take away from the flavor. read more

Disappointed at the experience. I had been to the restaurant in the past and had enjoyed it and perhaps this was an off night and I'm sorry to leave a poor review but there is room for improvement. The good : flavors were delicious. Our server was attentive and the entire staff seemed happy to have us.The flat bread pide (at another table) looked sumptuous . Chicken shish kebab chunks were cooked well and seasoned nicely and were juicy. The complementary bread is superb. The yogurt dip that went with though was not enough for us to have more than a few bites. Needs improvement: there was no reason why the accompanying (delicious) bean and cucumber salad was 24 to 48 hours old with Limp cucumbers and parsley and flavorless tomatoes. Needs to be fresh daily and use cherry tomatoes or Campari tomatoes for flavor and crispness. Turkish Rice was meh. It was cooked properly but not a whole lot of flavor and perhaps I was expecting more of a Lebanese style pilaf with butter, nuts, spices, onions, etc. to brighten it up. Beyti minced beef had good flavor, but why did they have gristle in it? My dinner companion complains was that this was a cheap cut. The butcher supplier is not paying attention. It also could've used a little bit more sauce on the bread wrap pieces for added juiciness. We ordered the.Tzatziki yogurt dip which helped add juiciness . There was no reason why the Turkish red wine came out warm. I realize that we were in a Dallas summer at 95° at 9 PM and the restaurant was slightly warm but still. Lastly, the owners might think about mitigating the hard surfaces that reflect sound in the restaurant. It's a lively place, but we were subjected to the group of six women who were drinking enough to be loud and screechy across the room - all too common across the city -and I did not need to hear them yukking it up. I decided to try this restaurant because of its excellent online reviews, but unfortunately my experience was very disappointing. We were seated promptly, but there were no clean high chairs available, so we had to wait a few minutes while one was cleaned. That wasn't a big deal. After about 10 minutes, our server finally came over to take our drink and food order. From there, things went downhill. We waited around 30 minutes without our server checking on us once, while tables that were seated after us began receiving their food. After about 45 minutes, we decided to ask for our order to be packed to go. That's when we found out our original server had already left without handing our table off to another employee. Our order had been entered into the system but was never brought out, and no one noticed. What made the experience even more frustrating was that there were several employees standing around at the front and only a couple of other tables in the restaurant. It was surprising that no one realized we'd been sitting there without food or service for so long. I was genuinely excited to try this highly rated restaurant, but instead I ended up wasting an hour and a half. No one attempted to make things right or offered any apology beyond explaining what happened. I would also encourage the staff to be mindful of communication when interacting with customers. If a customer asks a question, it's best to answer them directly in a language they understand. Speaking among yourselves in another language during a service issue can easily create the impression that you're talking about the customer, even if that's not the intent. Based on my experience, I can't recommend this restaurant. I hope they improve their customer service because the food may be good, but the service needs significant attention read more

This review is for takeout only. I tried a few of my favorites for takeout; Spicy Ezme and lamb shish. The Ezme was delicious and very fresh but takeout did not include table bread that you usually use to dip in the Ezme. The way it was provided, the only way to eat it is with a spoon, I guess, like a cold soup. The lamb shish was not as tender, and the bread was tough and chewy. Very hard to chew. Ordering lamb shish in the restaurant was a completely different and much more delicious experience; especially when the bread is fresh and hot. The cheese pide was delicious. The cheese was flavorful, and the bread was flavorful and tender. I would order it again. Dessert was the best thing we ordered. The Apple baklava is just amazing and I can't recommend it enough. Although I seemed to remember when I had this at the restaurant, it came with a scoop of ice cream, which is not probably feasible for to go. I guess the bottom line is I will look forward to when I return to Selda restaurant, but it's unlikely I will order takeout again given this experience. read more

Traditionally huge fan of Selda. Everyone is really nice, great customer service although service can be a bit slow at times, and amazing food. The restaurant has an indoor and outdoor patio which are both beautifully designed. They usually bring complimentary bread and a sort of sour cream cheese which is truly amazing. I got their soup and Urfa Kebob that comes with rice as well as side bean salad. The flavors are just amazing. For dessert I got tea and tried out their Bakhlava as well as cake. The cake and the bakhlava were a bit sweet for me but it also tasted amazing. Overall great experience and I highly recommend this restaurant and its location. read more

This is the best Turkish food in the area by far. Service is good and relatively quick. I'm never in a rush when the food is good and this place delivers on that. The lamb shank is my favorite thing here. It is so meaty, tender and flavorful. The lamb and chicken shish are both great. They have a delightful char from the grill and are absolutely loaded with spices. I don't have a super high bar for ambiance but atmosphere feels inviting. Not super quiet with the music playing but you could still easily have a dinner conversation. There really isn't another place serving Turkish food like this so i'm really grateful Selda is in our neighborhood. read more

Such a cute place. The patio is fun and charming, a great date night spot. I ordered the lamb shank and it was so tender it fell off the bone. The bean salad is fresh and flavorful. The complimentary pita bread is. Try a pide, we got the meat one. Our server was very nice and service overall was fast. Didn't wait long for our food. What a gem! I only just discovered this lovely place. Went for lunch with a good friend. We shared the chicken shish (cokes with rice and bean salad, we subbed beet salad for bean) and beet salad. Chicken was cooked perfectly. Rice was white and I don't think had any added flavors. The beet salad was especially good. Greens and roasted beets with cubes of feta. Dressing was good and not too much. Really delicious! I highly recommend. Super nice staff and lovely, clean restaurant. They have a nice patio also. Selda is the best Turkish restaurant in the metroplex - we all know that so I wanted to take a moment to give them their flowers from a different perspective. We had a family trip where we would be lounging all day and night by the pool. We wanted to provide a no hassle meal for our huge group for one night. My husband worked with Vedat to plan the best option since we would be grilling ourself. They prepared the juiciest marinated chicken and beef kebabs. We are not grill masters in any way, shape or form - but these kebabs came out so good. Full credit to Selda. The portions were perfect - we even had leftovers for lunch the next day. They also provided bread and sides which everyone was obsessed with. A lot of our family had not tried Turkish food before and they loved every bite and came back for seconds. Safe to say that we were not at all disappointed by this restaurant!! We decided to try all the small plates, such as cigar borek, falafel, feta cheese and olives, as well as the fried cauliflower and they were all incredible! My very favorite was the fried cauliflower! Highly recommend trying it. The best way to end the meal is with the pistacchio cheesecake! The place was pretty busy for a Wednesday night so just to be safe you may want a reservation. The food was delicious . My friend recommended this Turkish restaurant and we decided to give it a try since we had to make a trip to the downtown area. They had outdoor seating available and it was a beautiful cool day so we asked to sit outside. I wanted to get their fried cauliflower since it seemed really good and popular but they were unfortunately already sold out for the day. We decided on getting the saksuka instead since I wanted an eggplant dip. They later brought out some complimentary bread, a yogurt like dip, and the saksuka. I didn't realize that the saksuka was a cold dip and not a warm or roasted one, but we both still enjoyed it. It had peppers, tomatoes, and eggplant in an oil and marinara sauce. Still would've preferred a heated one though. Next came the spinach cheese pide, which my friend recommended. Honestly, this was probably my favorite dish that we got. This is a Turkish pizza stuffed with sautéed onion, spinach, and feta cheese. Each piece was so so good. My friend got the chicken shish and really enjoyed it. I got the lamb chops since it was their most popular dish. I honestly thought it was going to be bigger because it seemed that way in the pictures I saw online. Selda is one of my favorite restaurants in Dallas. The Turkish food is some of the best I've ever had. We brought our buddy from Saudi here and he said the Kunefe was better than he got at home (hint: order and split it no less than four ways since it's such a wonderful but heavy dessert). We bring every out of town guest we have here at least once. Ample parking. Lovely patio. Fresh food. I love the bean salad some of the dishes come with. The patio is well-designed and inviting but I was unfortunately seated in the corner facing the neighboring 7-11 and its small homeless encampment that was set up along the building. For those who are bothered by that be mindful of seating. The view aside, the meal was fantastic. We started with grape leaf-wrapped salmon as well as the spicy ezme. The salmon was perfectly cooked and the ezme was addicting. I ate it with the table bread/naan, as well as my entree. Just phenomenal. We each ordered the lamb shish as our entree and subbed rice for the Turkish bread. Everything was flavorful and herbaceous. Delicious food and a bright and cozy atmosphere. I ordered the lahmacun and spicy ezme, and had the knafeh for dessert. It was my first time having the lahmacun and to say it's a Mediterranean pizza is really an injustice. It looks like one but there's no cheese, and the dough is actually thinner and not as crispy but it's absolutely scrumptious. It's topped with a tiny salad of tomato, onions, parsley and perhaps sumac, but I had to add a bit of salt to that. The service was great and a bit uneven as it got busier, but they were friendly and helpful. I did make a reservation, which is recommended. read more

Love this place, and try to go a couple of times a month when I'm feeling like a vegetarian meal. Fried cauliflower, ezme, and baba ganoush are outstanding. Hubs loves the liver. If you are a tea drinker, like I am, their iced tea is strong and refreshing. Service can be a little hit or miss depending on when you go. It's not a fancy place, but that's okay.
