The vibe is relaxed and chill on a saturday afternoon/evening. They have a great selection of food and drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. Service is good not great. When you walk in, there's no one to greet you but be independent and walk towards the back. it may look empty but as you walk out towards the patio it is a pretty decently sized space. I came specifically for hookah and a beverage. Which they checked the boxes. Hookahs start at 25$ and a refill is an additional 10$ standard pricing nowadays with inflation. No complaints on my end. My friends and I walked in seated ourselves, no one in sight. No one came to our table for over 20 minutes. Here's the kicker we were the only customers in the restaurant, (1st red flag). Finally a guy came took our oders, then the food came. WORST food ever! Unflavored, COLD, stale everything. I can guarantee they pulled those food from the refrigerator, served it without reheating them properly. Old stale disgusting food and the tiniest serving. We were all so shocked out of our minds. Oh no water on table, when we asked for water they sold us there restaurant's bottled water lololol No service, the most horrendous food, they get 1 star for ambiance. Cherry on top: the waiter came to our table and told us to close out our bill before the next shift starts to they don't get his tip. Oh My Days!!! What!! Unheard of!! Who says that? We then paid him, again in disbelief. Here me out: if you don't care about where you spend your money, service, or the food you eat this place is for you. My husband used to frequent often years ago and has raved about it often so I we went for dinner. Arrived at 6pm seated right away. Not crowded at all. Extremely slow service and poor service. Took 15 minutes to be greeted. Wait staff standing around. Not a few but MANY. They have a drink waiter and a food waiter. I ordered a rose prosecco and received a prosecco. When I flagged him down to tell him his response was "is that not rose?". Asked for water with our cocktails and they serve bottle waters and charge $3 each!! When the waiter finally came to take our food order - 20 minutes later he immediately tried to upsell us. My husband had lamb kebabs and they were awful!!! Frankly inedible. Cubes were too small, thus burnt, dry and tasted like rubber. I had lamb shank; which he ended up eating most of due to his dissatisfaction of his own. Shank was just ok nothing great nor would I order it again but my husband would. My risotto was excellent!!! It was the best part and frankly the only food that was acceptable of the whole meal. No quality 3-4 bite food check by waiter. He finally asked when we were almost done. I told him our concerns and he just smiled!! The decor was nice. DJ was supposed to start at 830pm - nope we left at 9pm. Honestly I don't see how they stay in business as a restaurant they need to stay strictly lounge. The whole night I felt uncomfortable as if there were "shady shenanigans" going on. The owner or Godfather I should say sat at a booth smoking and eating talking on the phone our entire stay. He nor godfather jr (manager) ever approached a table or spoke to a single guest. We will not be returning and frankly would not be surprised if they are closed due to shady practices. Oh yeah- best part whether you or a party if 1 or 20 they automatically add a 20% tip!!! Food nor service warrants a 20% tip here. Went here for the first time during lunch hours and the overall experience was not good. I was asking the server and the front if the menu is Halal and they had no clue what I was talking about! It took a while for them to confirm and I reluctantly decided to eat based upon the way they confirmed. I was already there with family, we were all hungry, and just didn't want to drive somewhere else. Restaurant was dirty and had dust all over and everywhere. Look up at the ceiling and you will see big spider webs everywhere! Don't you think these webs fall on your table, food, drinks, utensils, etc., time to time? Absolutely no cleaning and thought about it from the management. Food that we ordered was pricey for the amount of meal you get. Taste was also just okay and nothing special. While the waitress (which I think was a last minute impromptu waitress filled by a family member), the food was average on a good day. Granted, the dolmas were very good. The worst part was the check. How they displayed the bill didn't show the automatic 20% service fee. When did restaurants start charging a service fee of 20% on a two top in Plano, Texas? I can understand a table with 5 or more people and there are service fees in resort towns or destinations like South Beach where all the establishments charge a service fee. But c'Mon, this is a 97% empty restaurant at noon on a Monday in Plano, Texas. Does that really justify a service fee? More importantly, at least be transparent about it and tell patrons there is a 20% up charge for dining in. None of that occurred. Lastly, I ordered water, not bottled water. We weren't told bottle water was the only option, nor were we told we were going to be charged. Well, we were. Two waters. Two charges for bottle water. Overall, disappointed in the luring of my time into an ill-prepared restaurant at noon, but more so with the lack of transparency for the service fees and bottle water charge at a place with sub-par food. read more

Having lived in the Middle East for 18 years, we have been in search of amazing Mediterranean cuisine ever since moving to Texas in 2001, to no avail - until we discovered Turkish Café and Lounge all these years later. We will definitely be returning here for dinner and possibly Brazilian or Bollywood Night when the venue comes alive in the evening hours! Mom and I opted to sit on the patio. We were greeted by Umit, then promptly seated and handed Menus by our server, Manu. I thought it was really impressive that he took the time to reconfirm my food allergies (mushrooms and eggplants) since unintentional cross-contamination occurs at some establishments. Our meal was enjoyable from start to finish - so much so, we stayed for two hours. We never, at any time during lunch, felt rushed. We started off with Turkish Mules. The pomegranate seeds lend a delightful flavor. Not tart and not sweet - just the right balance. We then ordered the Hummus, Falafel, the Cheese Flatbread, and the Chicken Kebab (which came with 6 chargrilled cubes of chicken, rice pilaf, onion salad, pickled red cabbage, & grilled tomatoes and peppers), followed by the Turkish Tea and the Pistachio Kunefe for Dessert. All excellent! Manu ensured we had what we needed during our meal. We chatted with both Umit and Manu and found them to be professional, knowledgeable, attentive, and friendly. Not sure why this place has such low reviews. This was not reflective of our experience and exactly why I tend to take google and Yelp! Reviews with a grain of salt. Dining in is always our preference. Side note: If you opt for take out, keep in mind that your food IS GOING TO GET COLD after you drive home, so don't come on Yelp or Google and leave a review denigrating the restaurant as if it's their fault. This is a beautifully run Family establishment and you would be doing yourself a disservice for not stopping by. There's just something about the vibe and energy here. Horrible experience. My husband made a reservation days ago for Feb 14. As soon as we go in the hostess says that they cannot honor our reservation. Few mins later we were sat down at a table. We waited 30 minutes and no one came to take order or serve water. Told the hostess that we were ready to order. She was absolutely rude and she told us they were busy and walked away. I can understand a busy day but people who walked in after us were served. We waited another 10 mins and left. Talking to the manager was also a waste. All he could say was I will seat you now. I made reservations for four people on Valentine's Day for the lower balcony. When we arrived, they told us they did not have our reservation and only had a table on the upper balcony available. The manager and front staff were not helpful at all. We had no choice but to take the table because most other places were already fully booked. Our waiter was polite and mentioned they were short staffed, but the service was extremely slow. When I asked for water, for water they told us they only had bottled water. When I asked for tap water, he said they didn't have any, so we were charged $3 per bottle. The food was average, and it was a fixed menu priced at $45 per person. The lower patio was supposed to be $45, but the upper balcony should have been $35. However, they still charged us $45 each. When I questioned it, I was told the price was the same, but on Facebook the upper balcony was clearly advertised as $35. On top of that, they automatically added a 20% tip to the bill and charged an additional 3% for using a credit card. We have been coming here for many years, but after this experience we will never return. It was very disappointing. There was hardly any dancing, the singer was terrible, and the belly dancer performed for only a very short time. I went to this place for the first time and loved the vibe. The food is excellent, with a wide variety. --plenty of drink options. They also have shisha with multiple flavors. The atmosphere is fantastic; the lighting is the best part, with mosaic lights from Turkey all over the place. There is live music and dance on weekends. I ordered their babagonush with pita bread, hummus, falafel, and a pot of tea .pita bread was freshly made and was soft; I wouldn't say I liked the taste of falafel, but their hummus and babagounush are delicious and flavorful. I also ordered their shisha with a flavor of Turkish delight that comes with a base of milk that was good, so we went ahead and ordered another shisha, Double apple, and rose, which we did not like as much. I enjoyed the tea. The ambiance was good, and the seating place was huge. If you are planning a fun weekend, I suggest a reservation.18% tip is directly included in the receipt! Years back, this place was gorgeous and a great place for gatherings. Last few years, especially after Covid, it has suffered a great decline in service and absolutely no food quality. The biggest issue is the owner/management. They have never really staffed the location either.
