I stopped by here for lunch and really enjoyed how fast and good the food was. The place is spacious and cozy with top notch service!! I had the chicken shawarma plate. It came out fast and to perfection. It was super thin sliced, fell apart in my mouth and seasoned well with a wonderful fresh side salad rice! I recommend and the lamb gyro will be for dinner tonight!
It was a cold, windy and rainy late afternoon and we were far from home. It seemed like a great time to get out of traffic and try Ephesus! With no other customers in the house, we settled in. We were given complimentary house rolls and a spice butter. What a perfectly raised roll and yummy soft butter. Such flavor! Our waitress was lovely; but I will confess to the tiniest of language comprehension issues on my part. We were given lunch menus at first, apparently, and as we started to order, she realized that and took those away. I then started looking over a different broader dinner menu. And wow, what a menu. So we ordered the spicy Ezme, a cold appetizer that tasted similar to a gazpacho or salsa to me. A mixed vegetable dish, chopped and blended with pepper paste, pomegranate, molasses and olive oil, it was delicious! ($6.95) Oddly, it came with a basket of wonderful, warm grill marked pita bread that we later noted we were charged $1 for. It was never mentioned when we ordered. I can't imagine what else we would have done with the dip, without the pita bread. It seemed almost like a luxurious condiment that you could eat with anything; but who knew? We moved on to entrees and I ordered the Turkish Ravioli (or Turkish Manti Dumplings.) These were listed as being beef stuffed and served with tomato fondue and garlic yogurt. ($18.95) They were generally chewy with about 1/3 stuck together and the tiny beef stuffing fell out of many and it was tough - not all, but many. I assumed they had been frozen. I was half way through when I realized that there was no tomato fondue either. Just a chili oil. Amazingly, I used the last of the Ezme on the Ravioli and it was terrific that way. So, I didn't mention it. I suppose I should have. My spouse ordered this fantastic platter, though. The gyro beyti (17.95) was a thin-sliced beef & lamb gyro wrapped in lavash bread with tomato sauce and Greek garlic yogurt served with rice pilaf and sauteed carrot, broccoli, zucchini and squash. It also had small sides of pickled cabbage and red onion. I had bites of everything. It was all scrumptious and tender. He also ordered a side of crispy charred Brussel Sprouts ($5). Seasoned perfectly, we devoured those sprouts. I'm not kidding. Even the ashes. They were so good!! A generous portion, there was plenty for two. Before we left, I placed a to go order for some Babaganoush. I do hold a preconceived idea of what Babaganoush looks like and in general, tastes like. The menu description: Roasted eggplant, tahini, olive oil & herbs. It's the whitest babaganoush I've ever seen and apparently that's very Turkish. I Googled it. So okay!! It must have yogurt in it or even mayo, possibly. And it's got a fair amount of lemon juice, too, so all in all it's pretty tangy. So now I know and it has it's charms. The eggplant has been cut up not pureed, so the taste and textural experience is very different. They eat it with a roll, I guess, because that's what came with it. I think it will definitely be delicious with a number of things. The restaurant is delightfully appointed, with all tables and chairs inside and patio dining outside. The strip center has a large parking lot, so there's plenty of parking spaces. I guess it just wasn't my day. The ladies room has one stall working at this time and there was no toilet paper. Anywhere. I had to let them know. Service was kind and efficient. I doubt I would order the Ravioli again; but we'll still go back. Everything else was wonderful and very interesting.
Absolutely one of my favorite Mediterranean spots in Dallas. Ephesus is where I take visitors when I want to show them the food scene in town. You can't beat the old Turkish look to the place, it's a perfect setting. Today was great as always. The lentil soup was just perfect to start, followed by possibly the best Doner gyro in DFW. Legit Turkish tea to wrap and you have a great dining experience. Our server was attentive and professional, which is standard here.
Been to this place multiple times times. Great Mediterranean food! Great service from staff. They offer complimentary bread for starter. You can enjoy your meal in a great ambiance.
Wow just wow!! Best Mediterranean restaurant I've been to. We ordered the - cold sampler (ezme, baba ghanoush, shakshuka, dolmades): the cold sampler was so fresh w/ warm pita, baba ghanoush light and fluffy - gyro beyti: such moist meat! and very delicious vegetables (not just basic and steamed) - lahmacun: haven't had before and I enjoyed it! very thin flatbread so it was crispy when fresh - they also had delicious rolls and butter. Vibes were great, service was great, and felt very homey and had fun Mediterranean music (not sure what language) Will definitely come back and bring friends!
Great quiet location to catch up on business or with a friend.. Interior is well lit, ample seating and clean! Stopped in an orderd the lunch special . I had the beef kebab with rice and salad - fantastic - notable mention beef was full of flavor and tender !. For a appetizer we split a delicious order of grape leaves No doubt I will make a point of driving here again to eat, lunch and dinner , as the experience was that good
I went when there was only one table dining. It was not busy, but the food was very good and services were great. The bread offered was very delicious, but I wasn't a huge fan of the dipping sauce. Not sure why it reminds me of American pizza dipping sauce. But everything else was great, lentil soup,, veggies and chicken kebab.
We initially came in to the area to try a Tex-Mex restaurant and decided to go to the neighboring Mediterranean Grill instead. We're glad we switched our plans! The ambiance of the restaurant is quaint and the service was very attentive. They first brought out some warm bread with an herbed butter. The flavor of the butter was delicious and the warm bread was fresh. For our order, we started with the babaganoush served with pita bread. The portion was generous and we had plenty between two people. For our main dishes, we went with the Chicken Shawarma and Greek Moussaka. The chicken was thinly sliced and had great flavor, that was even before the accompanying tzatziki sauce. The Greek Moussaka was also fabulous. It reminded my husband of a lasagna without the noodles. The flavor of the beef and lamb was paired perfectly with the tomato sauce and other seasonings. While we thought we'd bring home leftovers, we couldn't help but to keep eating and finish it all. We're glad we stumbled upon this place and look forward to bringing friends and family here in the future.
Oh man this place slays!! It's a nice sit down restaurant and service was fantastic. The complimentary bread was sooo fluffy and soft we were all begging for more and they delivered. Every dish was delish. The surprise winner was the Chicken Shish Kebab. The meat was incredibly tender, juicy, and flavorful. The Turkish ravioli is basically mini dumplings which are so fun to eat. Chef Special was also great with the crunchy potato topping that added a nice texture. Honestly don't think you can go wrong with any dish.
Great turkish restaurant. Really flavorful good food. I liked the kebabs both chicken as well as the lamb kebab. Great pita bread and flavorful hummus. Desert options are also quiet good. One of the most warm service. Ambience is decently mediterranean but for food is must try. I recommend trying it for sure
The chicken kabobs were incredibly juicy and flavorful--I wish I could meal prep kebabs like that every day. Our server treated us to complimentary hummus and baba ghanoush. The hummus was wonderfully smooth and creamy, while the baba ghanoush, though not my favorite, had an interesting flavor. The pita was soft and warm, and the dinner rolls with butter they serve beforehand were phenomenal. The service was excellent, and the front door, big and heavy, adds to the authentic vibe. It's a bit pricey, but what isn't these days? Plus, the quality of service balances out the cost. Seeing spanakopita and avgolemono soup on the menu would have made my day. Let me know if they ever make it to the menu, and I'll be back!

Amazing. I was with two family members, and we ordered the family platter, along with hummus and babaganoush (appetizers). They were both decent, but the family platter was absolutely on point. The best part was the sliced chicken. Interior felt welcoming and warm; the exterior doors were very beautiful and I've never seen anything like it at a restaurant. Our waiter was also friendly and helpful, which is just the cherry on top. And not to forget that the prices are very well and rational Definitely will try again! read more
Hear me out. As a falafel connoisseur, this is by far the best falafel in DFW. It is absolutely perfect. I've only had falafel that comes close to being this good at restaurant in Florida. I'm happy I found this place. The service was phenomenal, the place was very clean and the food was outstanding. I'll definitely be back on a regular basis read more

The food, service, and ambiance were incredible. Our table ordered the hummus, baked feta, Greek moussaka, and gyro beyti, all of which were delicious. 10/10 recommend! read more

This place was really good and definitely seems authentic. We came on a Sunday afternoon and it was pretty empty. We got menus and water brought to us right away. We discussed with the waiter what would be the best option to split, that wasn't so expensive, and he recommended the chicken shish kebab and we also got the feta rolls. They bring you this really thick, dense but fluffy bread to start with and herbed butter that was SO good. The chicken was spiced perfectly and tasted amazing. The feta rolls were pretty good but they're the type of thing you only want one of unless you're very hungry. Our waiter brought us a free side of hummus, babaganoush, and pita bread which was so nice. Five stars read more

The ambiance is old school but in a good way. Reminded me solidly of the restaurants along Taxim in Istanbul. Plush chairs you can sink into as you forget your day. The Adana kebab (ground lamb) was fresh and hot but a bit gamey, the veggies were on point. The tomato spiced lamb over eggplant purée wasn't gamey but just okay. That eggplant purée though had me pushing the stew aside in search of that dreamy dish. The flan was delicious!!! Not what I expected as I like a creamy, thick flan. This flan was light and brûlée on top. It is worth the trip alone. Service is always impeccable in Istanbul and the owners definitely brought that attitude with them. Great Turkish spot and the hot tea was the perfect finish. read more

My first time at Ephesus and excellent impressions both atmosphere and foods. Not to mention wonderful services from their staff, especially Birkan who helping on everything. Besides good food choices, they have great appetizers and desserts plus you have to try their Turkish Coffee Yum read more
A meal fit for a queen! They've addressed it as "Her majesty's favorite". Hunkar Begendi is the wholesome dish made of lamb coated with a zesty and chunky tomato sauce. One order can feed two, but crown me! ...because I feasted like no tomorrow. Gluttonous! Fine, I'll take the blame. I came here craving authentic Mediterranean cuisine. It can't be better than this Turkish dish. Even the server wasnt sure I'd like it; and I assured him I wanted something specifically from that country. No regrets! Who doesn't like pancakes? If you're not much of a flour fanatic, try their zucchini pancakes! I'd totally order these for a quick snack or even lunch with some pita bread. The dining area can accommodate larger families or groups. Although the lighting is warm, it presents furniture, decor, and essences of the ethnic experience. One of the best Mediterranean restaurants I've been to! The decor is nice and clean. We were seated right away on a Friday for lunch. I got the chicken shawarma plate. Let me tell ya, the chicken was perfect. Seasoned well and thinly sliced. Wow. The side salad was so fresh and refreshing. The rice was also very savory. Normally I don't eat rice but I could not stop eating this rice. My favorite thing was the warm bread that they brought out while we were waiting for the food. Sheppard's bread (?) and the soft seasoned butter it came with was amazing. My friend got the Adana, which is both beef and lamb and she loved it. Definitely need to come back to try the doner gyro! read more

Service: I came here with my friends for dinner. Service was great! The waiter and the other person who I believe might be the owner was very attentive and took great care of us. After declining dessert, the person who I believe is the owner gave us a free plate of Baklava : ). Food: We got the family platter so that we could try a wide variety. It came with Beef and lamb gyro, chicken gyro, beef shish kebab, chicken shish kebab, grilled veggies, rice and tzatziki sauce. The food was absolutely amazing. I am a fan of Mediterranean food and consider my self a connoisseur of the cuisine especially kebabs. The kebabs were cooked perfectly and very delicious. All the items on the platter were great but the stand outs were definitely the chicken shish kebab and the Adana kebab. The chicken shish kebabs especially was so tender and juicy. These are probably the best you would find in DFW. I loved them! The quantity was good but we were quite hungry and given how good the food was, we ordered another plate of chicken and beef shish kebabs. Don't judge us lol. Ambience: There is plenty of tables for seating. Table cloths. The vibe would suit a date night or a group of friends. Dim lighting during dinner. Value: The family style platter was $80 ( it would feed 4 people). The chicken shish kebab plate was $16.95 and the beef shish kebab plate was $18.95. I consider the freshness, taste and portions when making my determination and while the cost might seem on the high side, I would say the food based on freshness and taste justifies the cost. Clean place 4/5, service is decent 4/5, food is 1/5, which is the reason we are here. Too many shortcuts, bland taste and below average meat. If you get excited and enjoy soups in cans, pbj sandwiches and microwaved tv dinners, you may like this place! read more

This place has been on my list to try for some time so we finally made it for a late lunch on a Saturday. It's convenient to our house so the drive was not long and there is plenty of free parking. The ambience is very attractive and warm. It draws you in and feels cozy. I love Middle Eastern food so I was familiar with most of the dishes. I started with the hummus, a generous portion, and the wife had babaganoush. They don't give you pita but instead a house bread that is thick but light and airy. I would have preferred pita but the bread was fine. I had a chicken kabab and the flavor was very good. The chicken was a tad overcooked but overall it was a good kebab. The grilled vegetables and rice were the star, however, and I really enjoyed them. The wife had a lamb kebab and a couple of pieces were chewy but the rest were tender. Flavor was good. Our server was attentive and friendly. We enjoyed our lunch and did not feel bloated or weighted down at the end. Given the good flavors, warm ambience, good service, and convenient location I am sure we will return. read more

I head good things about this place. My first bite, told me I was in for a great meal. Caution: a can of DrPepper is $3.50, but I don't fault the restaurant for trying to make money in difficult times. I would seriously consider hosting a special event here. read more
