Great early dinner with a friend! Great service and food. Lemon soup (has a really long name) was soooo good I had it with meatballs you can get chicken also, lemony broth with orzo pasta and 2 delicious lamb meatballs. Nice dinning room.

The Brunch Menu has been expanded with enough food for two very healthy eaters (or four skinnys). All delicious, mimosas included.

The food was amazing and so worth the money. I ordered the chicken breast, grilled to perfection. The customer service was good as well.

A sedate night at Preston and Forest. I'm on good behavior.

Ziziki's has two locations; one on Travis Walk and the other at Preston and Forest. While the offerings are consistently good at both locations, each has a different personality. Travis Walk has always been a little more trendy and hip due to its location in an area where there is ever-evolving changes in restaurants and stores. Preston and Forest is the neighborhood joint, more likely to have an older and casual crowd. These days, I tend to gravitate to the Preston and Forest location since I've grown older and a tad more casual in my attire. Twenty-five years ago when I was seriously drawn to the latest in trendy men's fashions and hopelessly single, you'd be much more likely to find me at the Travis Walk location. Perhaps the reason I often (but not always) steer clear from the Travis Walk location these days is due to tortured memories of serial drama in my personal life that somehow seemed to happen there, many moons ago. For example, back in the day, I had a first date with a gregarious blond, Debbie, one Friday night, who quickly abandoned me at the bar at the Travis Walk store when she spied her former beau a few tables away and ran off to join him with the martini in hand that I had just purchased for her. Preston and Forest is predictably calm. For the most part, no boisterous noise. Patrons here are generally sedate. As I mentioned, the chow is good, just like Travis Walk. Maybe not the most authentic Greek food, but always reliable. I won't be pinned down to one dish. I wander up and down the menu and find most everything to my liking. But for you, what is your choice? Do you lean Travis Walk or Preston and Forest? It's up to you and your personality. But if you do go to Travis Walk, keep an eye out for Debbie. I'm sure she's still hanging out at the bar, playing the field.

Friends met to try the brunch buffet and I had to think on this for a bit. Overall it was pretty good meal but not a wowzer. They bring courses to your table and you can ask for more. One bottle of champagne for every two persons. Started with pita, one GF and one regular each with cheese. Nice and fresh and really like a cheese pizza. Eggs and mini blueberry pancakes were really good. Then a variety of dip, smoked salmon (still a little frozen, mini bagels and more yummy pita. The souvlaki was a bit dry bit chicken and lamb. Keep some ziiziki sauce close by to help. Desert was a plate of fruit, some baklava and chocolate cake. Not bad. Gabrielle provided great service to us. It's a 3.5 star experience for sure and fun to add a Greek twist. It's worth a try.

Henry checked on us often, was super patient, and just genuinely kind. Bernie kept our water full and was always nearby making sure we were good without hovering. They made the whole night feel easy and fun. The food was just as good. We started with the mushroom fondue, creamy, cheesy, and packed with flavor. The bread was perfect, crispy and thin but still sturdy enough to scoop everything up without falling apart. We also split one of the toast boards and loved it. Great mix of flavors and just a really fun thing to share. They're also known for some really good favorites like the burrata toast, steak frites, truffle fries, and their charcuterie boards. Their brunch gets a lot of hype too, especially the French toast and eggs Benedict. And their seasonal cocktails are always a hit, really creative and well balanced. Bathrooms were clean, always a plus. Only tiny note, I wish there were more purse or coat hooks, every place needs those. Overall, we had such a great time. The service really stood out and the food totally delivered. Definitely one of those spots you leave already planning your next visit.

We have a very nice meal here on Wednesday! I saw this place had opened, and several months ago,…read moreEric R. and I popped in to look at the menu. The host led us from the quiet entry bar/waiting room down a narrow hallway to the back, where a "secret" sushi bar awaited. We made a mental note to return when we could, so I made reservations for right after I flew into DFW. Our seats at the barre were designated for Lisa R. with a lit-up sign, so that was cool. There are purse hooks under the bar at each seat!!! I started with the pandan oolong tea (oolong with coconut and pandan syrup), and Eric R. got the Okinawa green tea. We reviewed the menu options. Omakase is available for reservations only, so we could choose from those options, a handroll omakase/dinner set, or a la carte. There were also special fish and cold plates for the day. We ultimately agreed to do the classic omakase set, which came with plenty of food. Each of us could pick two starters. Eric R. chose seaweed salad and miso soup; I chose shishitos and edamame. They were individually served with dramatic white serveware which were from Italy or France. Then we had our hot tasting: black cod filled with scallop mousse in black truffe cream sauce. It was definitely rich and unctuous! Next we got our nigiri from Chef Manuel. All of the fish is aged from 3 to 25 days, which makes this quite unique from the ultra fresh raw fish at most omakase and sushi restaurants. Nigiri course: Akami (lean tuna) with shiitake mushroom pate Madai (sea bream) with chive Shima Aji (striped jack) with grated raw garlic Kanpachi (amberjack) with Japanese tea flower Hamachi (yellowtail) with shaved bottarga King salmon topped with kizami wasabi Chu-toro with pickled cherry tomato Uni in open mini temaki Then a different chef took over for us for handrolls. He made them to order and kept serving Eric R. first, so Eric R. asked him to serve me first for the third one. Temaki course: King salmon Spicy akami tuna Fried eel with avocado Finally, we were served a dessert course of miso citrus ice cream, matcha meringue, yuzu cured, kiwi, and two kinds of oranges. It was very refreshing! The service was fantastic throughout and I was impressed that each chef has to know how long each fish is aged and where it is from. Most fish came from Japan except the king salmon from New Zealand. We were not told where the uni was from, but it likely was listed on the special menu. Overall, the ambiance is great, we never felt rushed, there was plenty of food, the staff is fantastic, and the quality was excellent. I enjoyed the flavors and the fish was already seasoned and sauced to the chef's preferences, so no extra soy sauce was needed. I think it would be fun to return and try out the a la carte menu in the future. Itadakimasu!

Waters Edge is a winery and a bistro - so you can come for drinks or a meal or both. We were told that they make all of the wines on their menu, of which there are dozens of wines on their menu. I've been to a few urban wineries before, and it's an interesting concept. Waters Edge buys grape must (crushed grapes) from around the world and then craft and bottle wines made from that must at their locations (this Dallas location is one of 15 across the country). Wanting to try a few of their wines, the four of us shared two flights of five wines each. We tried the Tour of Armenia and Alec's Flight (a rotating selection of wines by their winemaker). Did I like every wine? No. But I thought most of them were pretty good. Personally, I'm not sure they need to make this many wines; I'll always prefer a business that does ten things well than fifty things fine (the Cheesecake Factory rule). But most of the wines were pretty nice (of the 10 I tried, I wouldn't drink 3 or 4 but wouldn't mind drinking the rest again). I appreciated that many of their wines are Armenian style, because I haven't had much opportunity to try Armenian wines. We also ordered a few snacks - they have a full food menu. We shared their Deviled Egg of the Month (2 eggs - 4 halves) and their Cheese is Life Board (two cheeses, hot honey, giardiniera, and crispy flatbread), which were both good snacks. They've been open just under a year, but the place doesn't feel quite lived in yet. The dining room has a large room divider in it, set up like a bookshelf. It has books and card/trivia games about wine and more. But many of these items were still wrapped in plastic, making it feel a little impersonal. The service was good, and it's a comfortable place to spend a couple of hours! The food we had was pretty good. The wines in my opinion are just okay - probably not the spot to take a wine snob on a date. But they have a large variety of wines, so you're likely to find one or many that you like. Not a bad place to spend some time if you're in the neighborhood!

Nope, still going strong at 7:00!!? My friend ordered the Margarita pizza, which they left the fresh basil off, which is a key ingredient. Me, the sea-bass, which was overcooked & very fishy.
