The paella here is incredible. It's flavorful and prepared with the most authentic ingredients. The artichokes and potatoes were only okay, but I'll return just for that paella!

Stopped by during happy hour (4-7 pm on weekdays) and had a great time. We sat on the pet-friendly patio, which made for a really nice atmosphere. The ceviche was incredible and reminded us of the amazing ceviche we had in Miami. We also ordered the steak paella , and the meat and rice were cooked perfectly and super juicy. Just note it takes a little longer to prepare, but it's worth the wait. Service and ambiance were top notch. We'll definitely be back.

Great food and drinks! Cocktails on happy hour until 7pm which is excellent. Definitely got busy inside after 6pm. The garlic shrimp and meatballs were very tasty with the bread. Had the octopus too which could have been charred a bit more. The lavender margarita was refreshing and delicious. Service was quick and my water glass was always full. They have a vibrant bar, patio area and indoor seating so plenty of options.

Great place for Spanish tapas! I went on a Monday afternoon around 2pm so it was not crowded and sat in their cute patio. The food was delicious. They have a lunch special - Pick two courses for $17 which was such a great deal. Must try!

Bulla Gastrobar ~ What We Ordered ~ - Grilled Octopus ($22) - Patatas Bravas ($10.50) - Sautéed Garlic Shrimp ($15) - Ham Croquettes ($11) - Crispy Calamari ($15) - Seafood Paella ($48) ~ Review ~ Bulla Gastrobar is a Spanish restaurant located at Legacy West in Plano, offering a wide variety of tapas - small, shareable dishes that are the traditional way food is served in Spain. After falling in love with Spanish cuisine on my trip to Spain, I was on the hunt for a spot here that could compare to the authentic flavors I experienced abroad. Bulla definitely delivered. I was able to order many of the same dishes I had in Spain, and they did an amazing job capturing those authentic flavors. My favorite dishes were the grilled octopus and the patatas bravas. The octopus was incredibly flavorful, and the mashed potatoes underneath paired with it perfectly. Patatas bravas is always a must for me - I love the aioli on top. The paella is a large portion, so I'd recommend ordering it if you're dining with a group. The ham croquettes were also delicious and crispy! The shrimp was good, but not a standout in my opinion. I especially enjoyed the sauces served with the calamari - they complemented the dish really well. Overall, I highly recommend checking this spot out if you're craving authentic Spanish tapas in Plano! ~ Rating: 9/10 ~

The BEST Spanish food that I've had in Texas. I recently went to Spain and the tapas here were just as good! We made a dinner reservation and were promptly seated. The atmosphere is great and lively with a dressy casual vibe, perfect for date night! The patatas bravas and jamon serrano were delicious and filled with flavor. We ordered the seafood paella which had a good variety of mixed seafood. There were 2 of us and the paella could've fed at least 4; the leftovers tasted just as good! The churros with chocolate sauce & dulce de leche were so light and airy, I could've easily eaten 10 of them by myself. Definitely some of the best churros I've had! Drinks were also great per our server's recommendations. Overall amazing experience and would love to come back!

My daughter and I went last night... my first time. Serena our waitress so super nice! Always had a smile on her face. The food was so good. I didn't know what to expect being my first time. Serena made it a good experience ..

Was expecting more but it was a good deal for the lunch special and a healthy lunch. The salmon carpaccio was ok but probably wouldn't get it again. The paella bowl was good, but wish the rice was better. Chicken had good flavor but a few pieces were a little dry.

Came for lunch with a friend. The service was quick and the food was good. I did the pick 2 and ordered the lentil soup and pork bowl. Both were good. I almost wanted a sauce option for the bowl but it was still good without it.

Came to Texas for my birthday weekend, and decided to try this place out for dinner in Legacy West. Our friends and I were not disappointed -- everything tasted amazing, fresh, and the service was exceptional -- with our water filled frequently. We probably overstayed our reservation, but we weren't told to leave. Thank you BG for a great evening!

Amazing tapas! My boyfriend and I popped in for a last-minute date night, and even though the place was bustling, the service was on point. Drinks: I ordered the Lavender Margarita while he went for the Lemongrass Collins--both were delicious, refreshing, and a little stronger than they looked (not a bad thing!). Tapas highlights: The Huevos Bulla, ceviche de jalapeño, and montaditos were standouts--flavorful, well-balanced, and perfect for sharing. I particularly surprised about the montaditos. I don't usually like sweet beef, but the sauce or jelly worked really well! I tried the arroz caldoso. It came out piping hot and fresh, which I appreciated, though it was too salty for my taste. I brought the rest home, but fair warning--it doesn't reheat as well. We ordered the churros for dessert and they really hit the spot. Overall, this spot nails the drinks and tapas, and I'd come back in a heartbeat just for those!

Oh, My Stars! Where do I begin?!?!? This place was amazing. Out server, Jasmine, was welcoming, on point and gave us some recommendations on her favorites (we asked). This has a sheik feel with a casual vibe but make no mistake, the food is top notch. I have been to Spain and this fabulous little find brings those wonderful natural flavors to the great state of Texas. We stuck with drinks and the Tapas on this go around and it was more than enough for 2. If you want to share tapas only, you can order like we did and have enough for 4 people, to be honest. We started with the Spanish Torilla which was perfectly cooked with potatoes and onions and served on a wooden board. It just took me back to Madrid. We also had the shrimp in garlic sauce, the steak chimichurri, the the figs wrapped in bacon stuffed with manchego (you heard me right, stuffed with manchego), the croquettes made with a beautiful bechamel, and fried artichokes (these we our least favorite ad the only thing I wouldn't recommend b/c they were a bit soggy). So, I could go into each one of these but all I have to say is flavor-town! All of these dishes were made authentically and just as stunning as they were delicious. Because it was my friend's birthday, we did opt for two Bon Bon cafe's and the Churros with chocolate and caramel sauces on the side. Just amazing. To my surprise, there is a Bulla Gastrobar here in South Florida in downtown Miami. We will definitely be going to try it out because if it's anything like the one in Texas, we are going to have one heck of a meal! Can't wait to try the octopus! Thank you for a wonderful evening, Bulla!

    Mimosa Tower

Most of the food was good but overall lacked salt or flavour (the potatoes, waffle). The flan was so good and the brioche dessert too. Our server was nice and friendly but seemed to forget about us a couple of times. As always, the sangrias were delicious. We also had a mimosa tower which was also so good. I loved the passion fruit syrup and the fresh fruits.

We were seated promptly, but there were no clean high chairs available, so we had to wait a few minutes while one was cleaned. That wasn't a big deal. After about 10 minutes, our server finally came over to take our drink and food order. From there, things went downhill. We waited around 30 minutes without our server checking on us once, while tables that were seated after us began receiving their food. After about 45 minutes, we decided to ask for our order to be packed to go. That's when we found out our original server had already left without handing our table off to another employee. Our order had been entered into the system but was never brought out, and no one noticed. What made the experience even more frustrating was that there were several employees standing around at the front and only a couple of other tables in the restaurant. It was surprising that no one realized we'd been sitting there without food or service for so long. I was genuinely excited to try this highly rated restaurant, but instead I ended up wasting an hour and a half. No one attempted to make things right or offered any apology beyond explaining what happened. I would also encourage the staff to be mindful of communication when interacting with customers. If a customer asks a question, it's best to answer them directly in a language they understand. Speaking among yourselves in another language during a service issue can easily create the impression that you're talking about the customer, even if that's not the intent. Based on my experience, I can't recommend this restaurant. I hope they improve their customer service because the food may be good, but the service needs significant attention

It was quite small, just a row of tables straight back from the front. I was looking forward to some good paella, so I ordered the Valencia small size ($20). It was served in a small sizzling skillet, which was harder to manage than a bowl. First of all, the skillet was steaming hot, and was more difficult to eat. It was literally dangerous touching the skillet's rim, which could burn your hand. My first disappointment was that they didn't seem to use yellow Spanish rice, which I consider integral to the dish. I used to make this, and it was a somewhat long process, letting all the ingredients simmer in the pan to ensure the flavor permeated all ingredients. This was served with mussels, shrimp, scallops, and calamari. I opted to have it without the calamari. It was also served without a knife. As some of the mussels were closed, it made them difficult to open without a knife. When I asked for a knife, I was able to wrestle the mussels open, but found that they, along with the shrimp and scallops, had no flavor or taste. Evidently, since it was fast-cooked in the skillet, none of the seasonings flavored the seafood. There was a lime stuck in the middle of the sizzling skillet, which was too hot to squeeze. Also, serving it this way left you to scrape the rice off of the skillet sides. The dish was acceptable, but definitely a far cry from the Spanish or Cuban Paella I love. For that, I will always go to Bulla in Legacy, which is also less expensive. My husband thought he was ordering a Cuban sandwich, and even pointed to it in the menu when ordering. It was the ropa vieja Cuban sandwich. Instead, what he received cost a few dollars more, and was a bowl of hot ropa vieja, along with rice and beans. He said it was good. The dessert of cinnamon sticks in whipped cream atop ice cream was also good, although not outstanding. The single women's restroom was acceptable; although it was unique in being the only eatery anywhere in this area without a purse hook, which made it slightly inconvenient. Although a nice mom and pop small local storefront, we are unlikely to return.

However, the past two times we shared this place with another couple who loves sushi just as much as my husband and I do. One reason we kept coming back, aside from all the delicious food, was how they labeled their menu with the top food allergens. As a food allergy mom, I appreciated this so much! Especially when I was still breastfeeding, I had to eliminate all of my daughter's allergies to breastfeed safely. The main ones I had to look out for was gluten, dairy, egg, nuts, and sesame seeds. The safe was aware of my limitations and shared empathy, not annoyance like other places. T Thankfully I'm out of that stage so I can eat anything on the menu now. We would like to take our daughter here some day, she loves sushi a lot! But being only 5 years old, we'll need to save it for a special occasion. We get carried away when we come here.
