Lamb stuffed ravioli

The food felt very authentic and fancy! Service was friendly and accommodating. I would come back here for sure!

Babel feels like DFW's answer to upscale Middle Eastern dining, and the biggest win? We're finally getting dishes beyond the basic shawarma and fattoush. The menu leans tapas/family-style with unique dishes like shish barak and multiple hummus options. The shish tawook (chicken) and batata harra (spicy potatoes) were standouts, though a few other dishes landed cold or a bit underseasoned. That said, our waiter Christian absolutely stole the show!! Electric energy, prompt service, and genuine conversation that elevated the night. You can tell they're still ironing out a few opening kinks, but once the flow is locked in, this will easily be a go-to for date nights or GNOs. It's swanky without being stuffy, and I'm already excited to come back, especially with live DJs or entertainment reportedly coming on weeknights. EDIT // Valet is currently complentary w/ tip and get the Pistachio Cheescake.

Finally got a chance to check this restaurant out recently and I was really impressed. The ambiance was great and the food was amazing!! Everything was super fresh and tasty. I love Mediterranean food and this is a place I would recommend to anyone looking for some great Mediterranean food.

Had to come back and give this place another try and I was not wrong! I was craving their lamb chops since last Saturday! The food is outstanding as I mentioned in my previous review as well! We ordered Greek salad, fried Kebbeh, Basil Hjmmus with beef and pine nuts and shish Barack for appetizers and all of them were delicious! For main dishes we chose lamb chops( MUST TRY) and kafta with potatoes. We did not have room for dessert but I'm sure that's outstanding too! I do believe that last time the restaurant had an odd night because tonight everything was perfect! I did talk to general manager and they do indeed have a room for staff and they also provide meals for staff as well so that was reassuring! We got lucky to have the same waiter as last time, Rami does a great job! He will take care of you from beginning to end! We tried their old fashioned and I ordered couple Negronis and every cocktail was very decent! I did check the restrooms and everything is working and paper towels are restocked. So I do recommend this place because the food is awesome and the team is trying their best! If you do want to have great Mediterranean food this is your place!

The ambience in here is so lovely.. This is definitely going to be one of my new fav restaurants in Dallas! The Waygu steak is sooo good with a side of the dandelion greens and mashed potatoes, yum. Also tried their Dubai chocolate martini and was blown away. I will be definitely bringing all my friends that come to visit from out of town here.

The food is incredible -- every dish is fresh, flavorful, and beautifully plated without being over the top. The vibe is exactly what Uptown has been missing: elegant and stylish, but totally unpretentious. On Saturday nights, they have a DJ who sets the tone with great music that brings energy to the room without overpowering it, making it ideal for a date night, dinner with friends, or just a night out. The menu is stacked with standouts: the spicy hummus topped with beef tenderloin and served with fresh baked pita bread is an absolute must-have. We enjoyed the kibbe nayee which had a modern twist and the lamb ravioli is outstanding -- tender, delicate pillows of pasta filled with slow-cooked lamb. For entrees we tried the wagyu strip, lamb chops, and whole branzino - all perfectly seasoned. Save room for the the baklava and pistachio cheesecake! The service and hospitality round everything out -- the staff genuinely cares, checks in at the right moments, and makes the entire experience feel warm and welcoming. Highly recommend!

We are all fans of Open Sesame, so we were so excited to hear about Babel! This place is gorgeous--huge front entrance door (it's real heavy so work out beforehand jk), high ceilings, tall columns, and recessed caverns for private booths. The service was excellent and helpful and they packaged all our food so nicely. Foods that stood out most to me were the fresh pita, baba ghanoush, basil hummus, Truffle Fries, and lamb rack. The fattoush and tabbouleh were so fresh and delicious, tasted identical to the ones at Open Sesame. The lamb rack was super tender and flavorful with a great accompanying sauce. The chicken and beef kebabs were kind of meh to me--the chicken was sort of dry and needed a sauce or something to help with flavors. The beef kebabs had some sort of spice in it that wasn't my favorite, but still decent. The beef tartare was a pasty form i have never had before--it was just okay to me, but somehow of my friends quite liked it! Pistachio cheesecake was yummy and light!

Finally an upscale Middle Eastern restaurant in Dallas! Babel transports you to another world with its food and ambiance. Highly recommend going with a larger group of people to share different items. My favorite things on the menu were the labneh, tabbouleh, chicken tawook and the brussel sprouts. The experience was super elevated with white table cloths and the waiter serving you each dish - Christian was a lovely server! For dessert, we had the pistachio cheesecake - it was interesting. Maybe too many flavors with the hints of lemon, rose water and pistachio. I wish it had more pistachio flavor. I hope you be back soon!

I visited this restaraunt for the first time and genuinely enjoyed everything I ordered. Starting off with appetizers, my friend and I ordered the pan shared halloumi cheese. This is paired with tomatoes and fig jam and is a wonderful accompaniment to the complimentary bread and olives served for the table. I'm a big fan of halloumi in general but this one was particularly cooked well and a must order for next time. For main entree I ordered Hunkar Begendi, which is sautéed marinated lamb tenderloin with red and green bell peppers over creamy eggplant puree. The lamb was in fact tender and perfectly seasoned and the eggplant puree went very well with the slight gaminess of the meat. I enjoyed this dish overall and it didn't feel too heavy, which sometimes is the case when I eat lamb. The pieces of meat were cut small enough while not being super tough, which I appreciated. I would definitely recommend this restaraunt if you enjoy trying Mediterranean fusion spots!

Every single dish was PERFECTLY cooked and seasoned. The chicken and veggies were seasoned with just enough spices where it had a slight kick, but not overpowering at all. A perfect balance to bring out the natural flavors of each item. The pita was perfection! Soft and warm, with a slight char on some of the pieces, which added such a beautiful bite with the hummus. Speaking of hummus, the Izmir hummus was silky smooth and incredible. I've had a lot of restaurant hummus and this one was MILES in ahead of them. It also paired beautifully with all of the other items. A flawless base. I cannot wait to come back here! Marcelo was an amazing waiter and even gave us recommendations for next time.

The Valentine's Day decorations were so cute and definitely added to the vibe. The food is always so good! They've added a few new items to the menu, don't skip the Burrata or the Chicken meatballs. I'm not usually a desert eater, but their Tiramisu is to die for! The service is spot on, as if they anticipate your needs, but not intrusive. On the way out they give the ladies a rose, a nice touch. I see why this place has become the beloved Dallas institution it is. I can't wait to go back!

It was my first time having the lahmacun and to say it's a Mediterranean pizza is really an injustice. It looks like one but there's no cheese, and the dough is actually thinner and not as crispy but it's absolutely scrumptious. It's topped with a tiny salad of tomato, onions, parsley and perhaps sumac, but I had to add a bit of salt to that. The service was great and a bit uneven as it got busier, but they were friendly and helpful. I did make a reservation, which is recommended.

This review is for takeout only…read more I tried a few of my favorites for takeout; Spicy Ezme and lamb shish. The Ezme was delicious and very fresh but takeout did not include table bread that you usually use to dip in the Ezme. The way it was provided, the only way to eat it is with a spoon, I guess, like a cold soup. The lamb shish was not as tender, and the bread was tough and chewy. Very hard to chew. Ordering lamb shish in the restaurant was a completely different and much more delicious experience; especially when the bread is fresh and hot. The cheese pide was delicious. The cheese was flavorful, and the bread was flavorful and tender. I would order it again. Dessert was the best thing we ordered. The Apple baklava is just amazing and I can't recommend it enough. Although I seemed to remember when I had this at the restaurant, it came with a scoop of ice cream, which is not probably feasible for to go. I guess the bottom line is I will look forward to when I return to Selda restaurant, but it's unlikely I will order takeout again given this experience.
