Babel feels like DFW's answer to upscale Middle Eastern dining, and the biggest win? We're finally getting dishes beyond the basic shawarma and fattoush. The menu leans tapas/family-style with unique dishes like shish barak and multiple hummus options. The shish tawook (chicken) and batata harra (spicy potatoes) were standouts, though a few other dishes landed cold or a bit underseasoned. That said, our waiter Christian absolutely stole the show!! Electric energy, prompt service, and genuine conversation that elevated the night. You can tell they're still ironing out a few opening kinks, but once the flow is locked in, this will easily be a go-to for date nights or GNOs. It's swanky without being stuffy, and I'm already excited to come back, especially with live DJs or entertainment reportedly coming on weeknights. EDIT // Valet is currently complentary w/ tip and get the Pistachio Cheescake.

Finally got a chance to check this restaurant out recently and I was really impressed. The ambiance was great and the food was amazing!! Everything was super fresh and tasty. I love Mediterranean food and this is a place I would recommend to anyone looking for some great Mediterranean food.

Greek salad AMAZING.

The ambience in here is so lovely.. This is definitely going to be one of my new fav restaurants in Dallas! The Waygu steak is sooo good with a side of the dandelion greens and mashed potatoes, yum. Also tried their Dubai chocolate martini and was blown away. I will be definitely bringing all my friends that come to visit from out of town here.

The food is incredible -- every dish is fresh, flavorful, and beautifully plated without being over the top. The vibe is exactly what Uptown has been missing: elegant and stylish, but totally unpretentious. On Saturday nights, they have a DJ who sets the tone with great music that brings energy to the room without overpowering it, making it ideal for a date night, dinner with friends, or just a night out. The menu is stacked with standouts: the spicy hummus topped with beef tenderloin and served with fresh baked pita bread is an absolute must-have. We enjoyed the kibbe nayee which had a modern twist and the lamb ravioli is outstanding -- tender, delicate pillows of pasta filled with slow-cooked lamb. For entrees we tried the wagyu strip, lamb chops, and whole branzino - all perfectly seasoned. Save room for the the baklava and pistachio cheesecake! The service and hospitality round everything out -- the staff genuinely cares, checks in at the right moments, and makes the entire experience feel warm and welcoming. Highly recommend!

We are all fans of Open Sesame, so we were so excited to hear about Babel! This place is gorgeous--huge front entrance door (it's real heavy so work out beforehand jk), high ceilings, tall columns, and recessed caverns for private booths. The service was excellent and helpful and they packaged all our food so nicely. Foods that stood out most to me were the fresh pita, baba ghanoush, basil hummus, Truffle Fries, and lamb rack. The fattoush and tabbouleh were so fresh and delicious, tasted identical to the ones at Open Sesame. The lamb rack was super tender and flavorful with a great accompanying sauce. The chicken and beef kebabs were kind of meh to me--the chicken was sort of dry and needed a sauce or something to help with flavors. The beef kebabs had some sort of spice in it that wasn't my favorite, but still decent. The beef tartare was a pasty form i have never had before--it was just okay to me, but somehow of my friends quite liked it! Pistachio cheesecake was yummy and light!

Finally an upscale Middle Eastern restaurant in Dallas! Babel transports you to another world with its food and ambiance. Highly recommend going with a larger group of people to share different items. My favorite things on the menu were the labneh, tabbouleh, chicken tawook and the brussel sprouts. The experience was super elevated with white table cloths and the waiter serving you each dish - Christian was a lovely server! For dessert, we had the pistachio cheesecake - it was interesting. Maybe too many flavors with the hints of lemon, rose water and pistachio. I wish it had more pistachio flavor. I hope you be back soon!

Kunafa and Pistachio Cheesecake

Went in on Valentine's Day and it was a great experience from start to finish. You walk in and the design and decor is warm and unique. Our server was quick and attentive despite being really busy. The Kibbeh Niyeh is a must try. The hummus with filet was amazing. Batata harra solid. And then to finish it all off the pistachio cheesecake was a 10/10. Kunafa was also really good. All while the DJ was out there doing his thing--ambiance also 10/10. Highly recommend!

The music is nice and you can tell they really focus on creating a beautiful Mediterranean experience. The food is completely incredible and very unique. This is not your average Greek pita place. This is a restaurant that could easily be in Turkey for some European country. We started with the Mezza platter ( $29) - which included 6 different dips. It's pricey for an appetizer, but it is definitely worth it because it's so unique and flavorful. It was probably my favorite thing that we ate. Everything felt just a little bit overpriced for what it is. My baseline comparison is Hillstones and R&D, and this is definitely Hillstone's pricing, but not the same experience overall. My wife and I shared the lamb shank and the falafel platter and also had a side of cauliflower (which was incredible). My 3 year old had the kids item which was $18!?. it was all very very good. My wife and I had a glass of wine and the average price was $18. They also had no descriptions of what style of wine it was e.g. Cabernet Sauvignon. When I asked the server, he just recommended the Caymus. The service was transactional and something you would get at most fast casual restaurants. I get that a lot of the servers are not professional servers. For the mezze platter, it would've been helpful to have an explanation of what was on it. Basically they brought the food. They took our order and that was it. Parents: they have one kids meal which included four chicken kebabs and a side of either rice or fries ($18). The price felt very steep for a kids meal. I probably would rather have had half the portion size for half the price.

Every single dish was PERFECTLY cooked and seasoned. The chicken and veggies were seasoned with just enough spices where it had a slight kick, but not overpowering at all. A perfect balance to bring out the natural flavors of each item. The pita was perfection! Soft and warm, with a slight char on some of the pieces, which added such a beautiful bite with the hummus. Speaking of hummus, the Izmir hummus was silky smooth and incredible. I've had a lot of restaurant hummus and this one was MILES in ahead of them. It also paired beautifully with all of the other items. A flawless base. I cannot wait to come back here! Marcelo was an amazing waiter and even gave us recommendations for next time.

The Valentine's Day decorations were so cute and definitely added to the vibe. The food is always so good! They've added a few new items to the menu, don't skip the Burrata or the Chicken meatballs. I'm not usually a desert eater, but their Tiramisu is to die for! The service is spot on, as if they anticipate your needs, but not intrusive. On the way out they give the ladies a rose, a nice touch. I see why this place has become the beloved Dallas institution it is. I can't wait to go back!

It's calm, clean, and the staff is genuinely friendly in that effortless, grounded way. The food here is fresh and actually cooked with care. The grilled chicken plate is my go-to -- tender, seasoned perfectly, and paired with the softest, fluffiest rice. Their vegetables taste like they came straight out of someone's home kitchen, not a restaurant kitchen. But let me tell you: the bread here is unbelievable. Warm, buttery, soft... it tastes like it's baked with love. They should honestly charge extra for it, but they don't. The Turkish tea is another comfort -- simple, hot, soothing. You sit there sipping it and you forget you're right next to one of Dallas' busiest stretches of road. The servers here? Handsome, kind, and attentive without hovering. They make the experience feel even lighter and more enjoyable. Ephesus is the type of place you come to when you need nourishment -- real nourishment -- and a break from the chaos of the city. Great prices, great portions, great energy. It's one of the best Mediterranean restaurants in Dallas, easily.
