A pretty good spot for some Italian. They provide some really amazing complimentary bread, parm, salami, and cauliflower. Carbone is known for the spicy rigatoni which is good, but I think the lobster ravioli was better. Overall, really good service, but I think you can get better (and cheaper) Italian other places in Dallas. They have matchbooks if you're a collector!

We had really high hopes for Carbone in downtown Dallas--mostly because Drake is such a big fan of the place. And if there's one thing everybody knows about Drake...it's that he has impeccable taste in Italian food. (Kidding.) Walking in, the vibe is cool. Not traditional Italian, but definitely upscale. I can see why people pick it for a date night. The service was truly top-notch. They have a whole team of servers and support staff making sure your glasses stay full, plates get cleared immediately, and the table is always clean. That part felt very polished and professional. Unfortunately, that's where the "wow" factor ended. The food didn't match the ambiance--or the price. Everything is served family-style, so we all picked dishes together. We already knew we had to try two Carbone staples: the calamari and the spicy rigatoni vodka. Except...they didn't have calamari. Not sold out--just didn't have it that night. And we were one of the first tables of the evening. "Disappointed" is putting it lightly. So instead, we got the off-menu Hamachi appetizer (pretty good) and the prosciutto with mozzarella. The prosciutto was salty and delicious, but the mozzarella was surprisingly bland. Definitely not memorable. For mains, we ordered the spicy rigatoni vodka, which was good...but just good. Not mind-blowing or worth the hype. The lobster ravioli was decent too, but again nothing special. Our protein was the Steak Diana, and while the steak itself was cooked well, the sauce didn't land for most of us--luckily it was served on the side. One person at the table liked it, so maybe it's just a preference thing. We also ordered the squash as a side, and it felt plain and under-seasoned. I hate to nitpick, but at these prices, you expect a little more than "just okay." For dessert, the tiramisu was actually fantastic--the ladyfingers were spot on. The carrot cake was also enjoyed by the table, though I'm not really a carrot cake guy. Overall, we probably won't be back. The service and ambiance were excellent, and our server really knew the menu. But the food just didn't deliver for us. In a city with some amazing Italian options, especially at this price point, we'll likely head somewhere else next time.

Really enjoyed our visit to Carbone. Spicy rigatoni was definitely good but we've had better vodka pastas at other restaurants. The lemon cheesecake was the star of the show for us, it was delicious. I'd come back to try other menu items in the future! Server was very nice and the vibes in the restaurant were lively.

Carbone 3.5/5 Spicy Rigatoni definitely was the star. Chicken Massala was lackluster, not worth its price. One of the best calamari appetizers ive had to date. Great complimentary breads Great service, but as expected from an establishment that provides a "luxury experience." Valet parking available, although lots of spaces in the design district to self park. All in all, while the food is good, I believe certain dishes are overpriced. Great interior, lots of seating, comfortable, although majority of restaurant is dimly lit. Great for a date night

Beautiful dining experience in the Dallas area! My bf booked our reservation a month out and he was super excited to see what Carbone was about. The restaurant is stunning and takes you to a different era as soon as you walk in. We came on a busy weekend and the restaurant was packed! Our server was very knowledgeable and recommended great dishes but of course we tried the Caesar Salad, Spicy Rigatoni and Ravioli. Our starter bread was fantastic and can be filling so pace yourself. Our salad was delicious and I loved the option of having the anchovies on the side or mixed in. The rigatoni lived up to the hype with its flavor and overall presentation. The ravioli wasn't my fav but it was surprisingly good to my bf. The margarita was good but the cinnamon stick could've been left out in my opinion. Overall, the service was great and the food was pretty good! If you can snag a reservation, I definitely recommend building up an appetite to enjoy a dish from each course. We just weren't that hungry but still enjoyed the experience!

I loved almost everything about carbone. The ambiance is transformative, the service is impeccable, and the free appetizers are delicious. However it had to lose one star just based on one food item, the ribeye. I'll start with the salad. The table side Caesar may not be worth the price but it's a large portion and is delicious so I would definitely order again. Then the famous spicy vodka pasta was divine and absolutely loved up to the hype. However the ribeye Diane left much to be desired. The sauce it is bathed in is good not great while the sear on the steak and the seasoning on it was not present. Overall it was a solid steak but for $97 I would absolutely not recommend. That being said I still will absolutely be coming back to carbone to try more of the pastas and to try some of the seafood options!

I really enjoyed my dinner here! Wasn't difficult to get a reservation. It was very spacious inside with lots of unique table settings and ambiences. I was sat in a more traditional dining area. I had a great server! I really enjoyed the complimentary bread basket and the meats and pickled cauliflower that came with it! For my entree, I went with the infamous vodka pasta and I see why it's so popular. It was creamy, had a slight kick, and was a pretty decent portion. I will be back just for the bread and pasta!

We dined at Carbone to celebrate a birthday while we were in Dallas. The reservation indicated it was a birthday and the host even said it several times. We loved the complimentary breads and the pickled cauliflower. The Caesar salad is made tableside with the dressing they toss in. Very good. They had the yellowtail so we got that while they had it. The spicy rigatoni was the star of the show of course. We got 3 portions. Although maybe it would've felt like more if they didn't put it all on one plate I'm not sure. The lighting was dark and ambient. Honestly at times I couldn't see without that little lamp haha. We had to tell the server we were celebrating a birthday but we thought we might do dessert elsewhere and he said no I have something to celebrate here. He brings out the cart of 4 cakes for us to choose from. We picked the carrot cake which was pretty good. But then we were charged $25 for it. Very misleading to make is seem like a treat on the house but then slap us with the bill with $25 for a slice of cake. That bothered me. But otherwise great meal.

We had a wonderful time at Carbone! Despite the mediocre reviews, we decided to dine here before heading to the theatre. I'm glad we did. The rigatoni was phenomenal; the veal impeccable, and bread service was the perfect starter. We've eaten at fine dining establishments around the country and this one holds its weight! We will most definitely be back.

Brought out cake for pictures as they wanted to charge $15 slice of our own cake?!!

Might have been a hot spot when opened but we were very disappointed. Too much hype. I'm sure their are nights it's wonderful but for us it fell Short across the board. I'd go get a drink at the bar and maybe an appetizer but that's it! We came for a birthday and my wife made my daughters favorite cake. They wouldn't let us cut it unless we paid $15 for each plate wtf?? Won't be back.

My wife was curious about the place, so we drove down and tried it. The service and ambiance were fantastic! Their calamari was probably one of the best I've had. The pasta was not bad. Food was good, but I don't think it was worth the ultra premium price we paid. I knew it was going to cost me. Lol...but $30 for a mediocre old fashioned was a bit over the top. If you want to impress your date, take them here for a great experience, but be prepared to shell out some serious cash.

Has Carbone lost its luster? This once buzzy restaurant and "hard to get reservation" feels a bit like it's losing steam in the Dallas location. Food: On this occasion, we had the Caesar salad, calamari, spicy rigatoni (never misses), and the mushroom fettuccine. The calamari is great - lightly fried and comes with a white wine beurre blanc sauce. The Caesar salad is made table side - croutons are divine and love the sardines for a classic touch. The fettuccini left much to be desired. No flavor. We also tried the tiramisu and lemon cheesecake for dessert - the cheesecake was delicious and outdid the tiramisu for sure. Service: just okay, it is not as sharp and polished as it used to be!

Decided to have dinner with one of my good girlfriends and had an amazing dining experience. After receiving great news about a work position we decided to celebrate. Yes, it's preferred to make reservations if you decide to frequent the restaurant. The ambiance upon entering is like a quant paradise. I'm grateful that the staff offered purse hooks because I didn't want to place my handbag on the floor or take up a seat with my handbag either. Our server Toriana was amazing. Gave recommendations on the drinks and the signature menu as it was DFW Food Week. For starters there was a :Margarita, Mockingbird (delicious btw), Sweet/Sour Mini Meatballs,Rosemary Potatoes ,Gnocchetti Sorrentina Pasta , Ribeye tagliata, and option of gelato or raspberry cake. Now let's break it down the Caesar salad was amazing we asked for no anchovies in I believe it was still somewhat in the dressing so it had like a small fishy taste but it wasn't bad. The sweet and sour mini meatballs no offense to each his own however we were just trying things out was not personally my favorite but again I could appreciate what the chef Pat as a vision. The pasta chefs freaking kiss delicious rip ricotta need I say more!! The ribeye steak tender succulent seasoned well delicious I will definitely have another steak from here again. After eating so much bread waiting on food I did not want my dessert however I will definitely come back here to visit our server again, she made the night fun very interesting and even let us know that the owner had plans to be there to curate the new menu the following week. To the manager that reads this please give Toriana the praise and the level of excellence she deserves. Her knowledge of the food menu items that pair well with drinks the spontaneity and just ease she brings while being your server was amazing. I recommend anybody here that is looking to visit to request Toriana as their server you will not be disappointed!

To begin, I would not recommend using their valet even though it is free, because they seem to only have one person working it so it takes forever for them to take your car. We had to wait for over 10 minutes for the valet guy to come back to his post, meanwhile I'm stopped in the middle of the street with car having to drive around me. It would have been much faster to just park in their garage which is also free for I think 2 hours once validated by the restaurant. The valet also didn't have a system for keeping track of the cars, no key tag, number to text, or anything, he just asked for my name and said he would remember me. That didn't seem like the safest process to me. Not to mention, when we picked our car up he just gave me the key to drive it off from the space myself instead. Valet aside, the restaurant was really nice inside and had good balance of not quite fine dining, but also not too casual, which is what I was looking for. They also decorated for the holidays and the red bows overhanging were a nice touch. As an Italian restaurant, they had plenty of pasta options however our entire table decided to go with the waitress recommended Pollo Parmesan. I think we all were interested in the fact that it contained both red and white sauce, so it allowed us to have the best of both worlds. I wasn't sure how it would mix well at first, but it ending up complementing each other nicely. Lastly, the ladies also appreciate that they provided a bag hanger for their purses. I would like to come back to try their other dishes, I just won't waste time using valet again.

But what really made the experience unforgettable was our server, Leigh. She went above and beyond in every way possible. She didn't just explain the menu- she told a story. From the background of the owner to the details of each dish, you could tell how much care and passion went into everything. She checked in at all the right moments, made sure we had everything we needed, and genuinely cared that we loved each bite. And the food... wow. It transported me to Italy. We started with the arugula salad with bresaola dressed with lemon - super refreshing - paired with the arancini. The bread dipped in the sauce was insane: perfectly crisp on the outside, with rich, flavorful rice inside. We shared the triangoli ravioli stuffed with ricotta and topped with mushroom, hazelnut, and parmesan, and it was incredible. The hazelnut added the perfect crunch and nutty depth. Then came the tagliatelle with wagyu bolognese--perfectly balanced, rich, and made even better with clearly homemade pasta. We finished savory dishes with the veal saltimbocca, and I swear it made me feel like I was sitting in Rome. The sauce was incredible, and the sage really brought everything together. But the true showstoppers? Dessert. My Italian grandma said the cannolo was the best she's ever had - and that says everything. Light, crisp, and not overly sweet. Then the chocolate dessert with olive oil and sea salt... I went in for two bites and somehow finished the entire thing without realizing. Easily the best chocolate dessert I've ever had. This place is out of this world. Would order all of these dishes again. In a city full of restaurants, this is one I will come back to every single time I'm in Dallas. Absolutely 5 stars. Brava.

Even longer for the plates to be cleared and longer still for the opportunity to order dessert...a piece of cake for the birthday girl and two after dinner drinks...but the drinks weren't picked up from the bar when the cake was delivered, and only remembered when we asked for the check. We watched him pick them up (well after the cake was consumed) on his way to leave the bill. No mention that they had been overlooked, no thank you, no good night. This was our first time at Barsotti's and it will be our last. Aside from the awful service, we had issues with the food as well. The veal was pounded paper thin and fried hard resulting in a tough, chewy texture similar to dried beef or jerky. It was dry and overcooked on two different dishes. On a more positive note, we enjoyed the fried ravioli appetizer and the redfish was fine. While our waiter was largely MIA and unpleasant when he did show up, the bus boy/assistant was gracious and attentive. Maybe he was trying to compensate for his colleague. BTW, the offensive employee was in his late 40s to mid 50s with a slight build and salt and pepper hair.

I've eaten here a few times and would generally have given it a 4 star. But I just had the pasta…read morecarbonara and had to come drop a 5 star review just for that dish. It's hard to find Real carbonara out anymore. I don't know if it's the eggs in there that restaurants or people are worried about it but I don't have a problem with that at all. All that said, this was a great dish. Had the chicken carbonara with fettuccini and it could not have been done better. It was a special that night and I hope the put it on the menu permanently. Drinks were good as well. I'll be back. More often if carbonara gets on the menu :-)

Loved the ambience!! They have multiple dining rooms and a patio. They do a good job of keeping…read morefamilies in one area and couples in another. I think that is a smart idea. Service was excellent on the evening we were there. We started with the mozzarella garlic bread, appetizer with spicy sausage. It's a huge portion enough for three people easily. Very good. Salads were nice and very fresh tasting. They certainly weren't bagged lettuce as you get in some restaurants these days. For entrées, the pasta Gianni was the big hit. Great flavor and you have your option on pasta and I chose penne. For dessert we had the special cheesecake which was amazing. Prices for wine, cocktails, and food are all very reasonable. We had a really nice time.
