I went for lunch with a girlfriend the other day, the food and service was great! We had the whipped ricotta which was warm and filling! The bread it was served on was amazing! We got the sweet & spicy pepperoni pizza, wagyu meatball sub, and the tortellini. Everything was great, we were really impressed with it all. We also tried two of their craft cocktails. I had the margarita with cilantro and Serrano syrup it was refreshing with a little spice. She had the limoncello martini which she loved. Can't recommend this place enough! read more

If I was just rating the food, I'd give it a 4, even a 4.5, but since these reviews account for the entire experience, that's why I'm down to a 3. If I could do a 3.5 I would. Highlights for food: The pizza and bread were delicious. 4 for flavor and texture. I would've loved to have the tortufo, which I tried to order, but the waiter told me they were out of truffles. I asked if we could just get everything else in it and he said "no"? We ordered the wild mushroom instead and while I didn't taste the thyme or pesto, it was still really good. Arugula salad: I think it's $14 or close, so I expected a decent size. It wasn't, and it had one piece of fennel. One. Disappointing. Flavor was good, lemony and fresh. Service: Ordered a cocktail when we sat down. It didn't come for a while. We asked about it, kind of had to remind the server, and it finally arrived with our appetizer, mussels, but I wouldn't have paired the cocktail with mussels so kinda meh. The mussels, however, were really good. They'd get a 5. So overall the food was good, and I'd be curious to try some other things, but it's all a part of the experience and that overall was so-so. read more

Came here for a Sunday lunch and it couldn't have worked out better. There was a parking garage nearby that was easy to navigate. I was also able to get seated immediately on the patio, which was clutch because I was starving. The outdoor seating was a great vibe! Service was excellent right from the start. I ordered the calamari and the rigatoni alla vodka. Love that you can choose your protein (shrimp or chicken, or upgrade to sausage for a few extra bucks). Had such a wonderful evening here! Service is great, from checking in to leaving the restaurant. The ambiance is very gorgeous and modern. Parking is easy, as well as making a reservation. The hosts and servers are all very friendly and helpful. We were seated at a half booth, half chair table. We started with the fried burrata and whipped ricotta on crostini with hot honey appetizers. Both were very good, especially the whipped ricotta. For my entree, I ordered the rigatoni alla vodka and it was actually ridiculously good. Probably the best one I've had, and it's my go-to dish! I loved the calabrian chili, adding pops of spice and tanginess. I also tried the Tartufo pizza, and it was pretty good! Crispy and flavorful without a burnt crust. My only complaint is the restaurant is pretty cramped. I had to shuffle through chairs and tables to get to the bathroom. I would still return, especially for that pasta! read more

Okay, I hate to do this;however, it is really important to vet your wait staff! In a short amount of time they can ruin what could have been an amazing experience. Let's start with the food. We ordered an appetizer, Carta Musica. The description was the draw.. let's break bread. A simple oil, garlic and basil dipping sauce with a light bread to start. "Chucky" as he referred to himself, took it upon himself to drop off this beautiful starter, and without asking he said here is something I like to do, and he poured cheese into the dipping sauce without asking! Now I am all about a good suggestion however etiquette would be to ask. This restaurant projects a higher end feel. Really? What if I hate cheese or was allergic? Continue forward when our meal, which looked amazing, was delivered. The boy who dropped asked if we wanted cheese, both of us replied, No. Chucky comes flopping over and again without asking, grates cheese over my tortellini. I'm still trying to salvage the experience. The food while delicious did not go down smoothly. He comes over and says, how are my girls doing? At this point, I would not expect less from Chucky. I personally, do not like be addresses as someone's girl, by a man I do not know. The final straw for this experience was when he dropped out check. His final goodbye- make sure you go online and I quote, "Chucky, did you right!" I have no words for the awful and degrading taste this left in my mouth. A nice place. Excited to see how they grow. They have limited hours as of November '25. The manager said they are expanding to lunch and potentially being open 7 days a week. Also they might get a happy hour soon which I think it's a must in Preston Hallow. The drinks were good but pricey. We will be back as the menu looked really nice and I have to try the pizza. There is a truffle pizza with shaved truffle on it according to the menu. The bar tender said it was no joke and seemed really confident it would knock your socks off. We will see! read more

Less than stellar service. The bolognese and salmon were lackluster and just didn't get a friendly feeling. Our server seemed like he just wanted us to hurry up and go. The chicken was the standout (well seasoned and the perfect portion) and I love that they will let you customize pastas with different proteins! We had such a wonderful evening here! I started with a Hugo Spritz, which was incredibly flavorful and refreshing -- absolutely delicious. I only wish they offered a happy hour so I could have tried more than one! My husband and our friends ordered martinis and all agreed they were very well made. We shared the wood-fired bread to start, and it was outstanding -- fresh, warm, and full of flavor. For my entrée, I had the Chicken al Limone, which was perfectly cooked and beautifully balanced. The broccolini was on point, and everything on the plate was thoughtfully prepared and very tasty. We were so full by the end of the meal that we couldn't even attempt dessert -- which says a lot! Made a reservation on OpenTable. There was a ton of seating- bar, booths and elevated booths. We were sat in an elevated booth. Nice view of interview like we're queens of the mountain. Decor had modern with unique touches- glass baubles light fixtures, barrels of wine portrait hung in just the way it appeared 3D, and playful fellow art pieces. Staff appeared a well oiled machine. Server-Gio -ask for him. He ensured that we had a top notch, educating, heart fulfilling experience. Now, I know that the tiramisu was created near Venice in Treviso! Music ranged from country (it is Texas!) to Teddy Swims. A gentle departure from your standard Sinatra. They feature a wood fire oven here. We ordered the Espresso martini, garlic bread (accompanied by olive oil), tomato and avocado burrata salad, lasagna, Brooklyn pizza, a custom pasta dish (company wanted angel hair), tiramisu and cannoli. Matthew was a great server and was super nice, but it did occasionally take a while to get back to us, but it was busy. He gave great recommendations but wasn't pushy about anything. It can be a bit loud, but overall it's nice inside. The lighting isn't too bright and the music isn't too loud or quiet. read more

We've got another good one here in PH! Finally had a chance to stop in for dinner at Centrale Italia, and it did not disappoint. Why I really like this place... they make a lot of their bread and pasta in house and it's delicious. Our waiter and the servers on staff were on point, like a fine dining restaurant but more relaxed. That's why Centrale really shines, the dishes are recognizably traditional Italian, but done with a little flare and also executed very well. The ambiance is a mix of upscale but also just chill out and have a good meal. I just want to rave about the incredible service we received here. They made our daughter's 16th birthday celebration so special. They were able accommodate our request to sit her and her friends at a separate table from us to give them grown up girl time. The manager sat us at the bar which was directly across from the girls so we could keep an eye on them. Love that! Their waiter was so sweet and treated them like royalties. As for the parents' experience, the three bartenders working were on their game. Service was fast. Drinks and entrees were excellent. We had the brussel sprouts, the Wise Guy pizza, and the bolognese. Pasta was perfectly al dente. I feel like you can't really go wrong with anything you get here. We chatted with a couple next to us and they were singing praises about the food too. By the end of dinner, we were surprised to see a tray of desserts being brought out to our daughter's table. We thought it was a display tray for them to pick which dessert they wanted. No!! The restaurant gave the girls a giant tray of different desserts! I almost cried. That made all of our night. The girls loved their special dinner. The manager and staff were so kind and thought of all the details even with a packed house. They treated the shy teenage girls like VIPs. We went to this restaurant not knowing what to expect. It was very spur of the moment. Our dining experience started with super friendly and super knowledgeable waitstaff. A lemon cello basil martini started off the meal. Probably the best drink I have had in over a month. My daughter and I split the fettuccine lemone and my wife opted for the meat lasagna. Both dishes were great. The restaurant uses very fresh ingredients. These 2 dishes were very filling so much so we didn't have room for dessert. The space has been completely redone from the prior tenant and it's got a great vibe, and a really nice bar area. The food and service were excellent. Highly recommend the Brussel sprouts. The pizza was excellent and all of our entrees were very good. We ordered and shared the lasagna, short rib, trout and salmon. Everything tasted great. So, nine of us met at Centrale Italia last night with an 8:30 reservation to celebrate a birthday; and we arrived before time. We were told that we had to wait because they didn't have a table for us. So we waited. After 30 mins we talked with the manager and he said that they hadn't expected that many customers that day. But our thing was, WE HAD A RESERVATION. So we stood there and waited. The manager brought slices of pizza & drink to pacify us. We snacked on that while standing in front of the door. We saw people leave the restaurant, but no room for us. By the way, we were the ONLY African Americans in the entire restaurant. I really believe they wanted us to leave which is part of why we didn't and the birthday honoree really wanted to eat there. We were quiet, cordial and patient; never caused a scene. We waited at least 1and a half hours. Finally around 10pm the manager took us to a table. The restaurant closes at 9:30, by the way. Everyone that we had talked to about our reservation and why it took so long to be seated disappeared at that point and a African American woman came to our table to serve us. I thought that was so weird and cowardly. Her name was Rose and she was so kind & compassionate. She was originally working in the bar area and said she saw us standing & waiting for so long and wanted to help in whatever way she could. She was a great server and we really appreciate Rose making us feel welcome. We never saw the manager again. This was my first and LAST visit to Centrale Italia. My family and friends were treated with disrespect. Our time and patronage didn't mean anything to the management. Our experience at this establishment was NOTa good one and I don't recommend it... Ps: I gave it 1 star because the place is really nice and clean. read more

Great new restaurant in perfect location. Food and service are top notch. Italian standard hits are great, and plenty of chef originality to separate it from the usual crowd. Brand new interior, large comfy bar, a great wine selection and waiters that can offer pairings and give free tastes to help you decide. Check out the copper pizza oven, easily visible, imported from Italy, a rounded shape, looking like a museum piece. Take out available as well. Plenty of free safe secured parking, but valet service if you prefer. read more
