Dumpling Sampler
Lawrence C.

I've been here a few times now and have always had a good meal. Some of the food I am not too familiar with, so I can't review on the stuff I haven't tried, but from what I've had, it's pretty good. The Thin Dan-Dan Mian is my favorite! I didn't think I would like cold noodles, but it's so good! I did not like the Three-Cup dishes, but I think that is just a personal preference. I have yet to try their Baozi which sound delicious. The dumplings were very flavorful and I liked the different color wrappers. I also like how they are colored naturally and not with food coloring. Service here is hit or miss. We have had excellent service here and absolutely horrible service on other nights. So I only docked one star for that. The restaurant can get pretty busy, especially on weekends. Make sure to plan ahead on busy nights, although the wait for a table hasn't been too long.

Enjoyed the food I ordered. They make the XiaoLongBao in the kitchen. Very fresh. All three dishes I ordered are pretty delicious. Service was great. Ambiance is very nice too. Highly recommend.

Delicious food and great service! Haven't had a bad dish yet - everything's been so good!

Larger parties can be sat in the back for a celebration!

From the moment you walk in George and his team welcome you and make sure you feel at home. Family ran for years, they have the secret down to great food! It's no secret with the way the space feels as soon as you walk in. You have a small bar upfront, private room in the back for larger parties. A big open space with tables and booths for more intimate to med sized groups. Plan ahead and make a reservation, the lot is usually paaaacked with people patiently waiting for the doors to open. You can't go wrong with anything you order, dumplings and noodles are all hand pulled fresh daily. We love this place!

dan dan mian handmade noodles

Excellent first visit. Got there at 6pm because we've heard it gets busy. Only waited 10 minutes. Service was fast and she explained the menu clearly when we asked. We had the dan dan mian handmade noodles and kung pao chicken. Both delicious, reasonable in size and rightly priced. Definitely recommend it and coming back

Premier Chinese restaurant in Dallas. Location in Preston Royal shopping center. Originally was Safari Steak House . In 1974 Royal China opened in the same spot. From the beginning it became a favorite for Chinese cuisine lovers. Current owner George continues in his father's footsteps. His son is also at the restaurant and was our host today. Menu is full of mouthwatering choices. General Kao shrimp was prepared perfectly. Rice , spring roll, and won ton soup came with the lunch. Appetizers included fried won ton with accompanying sauces. Excellent bar and wine options. Atmosphere and dining rooms were decorated and inviting. You will enjoy the fortune cookie at the end of your meal. Schedule your visit soon and reservations are a must .

Went here for lunch with the kids. Quite busy but got table quickly. Nice and big restaurant, very clean and well decor. Great service and quick turnaround. The foods however is just aok for us (we live in California so we do have high expectations), not flavorful and abit bland. Would have given a 3, but great service and quick turnaround so a 4 it is.

We went on a weeknight and there was no wait for a table! Our group got Xiao Long Baos and pork dumplings to start. Everything is shareable/family style here. I was impressed by the quality of the dumplings and how quick the service was. They have hand pulled noodles and you can watch them pull the noodles and make the dumplings. I'll definitely be back to try more dumplings!

Let's start off with it's a ' Yes for me and I definitely would be returning for some more amazing food. Pictured is the orange chicken and shrimp fried rice both 10 pit of 10 . Nice portion size for the amount you pay. Service was quick & friendly. Dined in our waiter was so nice and fun. Establishment was clean, and really pleasing to the eye aesthetically. Business place no wait for us, however when we were leaving its was packed wall to wall. We had the pork egg rolls also so good! Check them out if you are looking for some excellent Chinese food.... So authentic!

I've been to Royal China a few times and overall, I highly recommend especially based on the limited options for really good Chinese in the area. Pros: The food is always good and done well. There's a great lunch menu Mon.-Fri. that includes soup and an egg roll with your entree. You can get wonton soup with the lunch menu, which has been rare in my experiences. You can also request a veggie egg roll, if you prefer. They have a good selection of vegetarian dishes. My fave dishes are the crystal shrimp, salt & pepper shrimp, orange chicken, all the veggie and mushroom dishes, and the dumplings. They have great dumplings. Also, try the table sauces! They're made in-house and done very well. Cons: We usually have fantastic and thoughtful servers, however, a few times we've had servers that weren't as high caliber as others and it made a huge difference with our experience. They can get pretty busy during peak times and don't do reservations. Be prepared to wait whether you're ordering take-out or plan to dine-in.

Service- 10/10 Our server was extremely helpful and nice. She recommended excellent dishes and even gave us a plate of chicken wings on the house! Value- 8/10 Good value, especially considering the quality of the food. Most sides were 5-10$, while the entrees were 12-16$. Portions were medium. Food Malaysian Roti- (2 pc, 9.5$)- 9.5/10 Was perfectly flaky and crispy. Came with a flavorful curry dipping sauce. Chili Garlic Edamame- (8$)- 7/10 Everything you would expect. However, it could have more of the chili garlic sauce. They do give you a complementary tray of spicy sauces (including chili oil), so this was not a big deal. Overall, every aspect of the resturant was top tier. Would 100% recommend if you are near.
