The food was served quickly and hot and the servers were very nice. We had the Beef and Broccoli and the General Tso Chicken. Both portions were plentiful and a good value for the price. The Beef and Broccoli had great flavor and tender beef. The only slight miss was the General Tso, the chicken lacked any crispiness at all and the sauce was just sweet even though we asked for it to be spicy. I really liked that they are not stingy with the crispy wonton strips like some places. For my entree I got the Sesame Chicken $15.99 came with steamed rice, this was just okay. I did like that they include some broccoli in the dish. I did not like that the chicken was soggy and some pieces were tough. The rice was surprisingly fluffy and not dry. We drove from Rockwall to eat here. My son is one of her favorite customers Alice greeted us like she had know us for years. Very welcoming, and has excellent customer service skills. They both were very attentive, and made sure we had everything while dining. The decor is very simply, not to overdone with pictures or signs. They have very comfortable sitting at tables or booths to accommodate guests. Spread out just enough. Between the 7 of us, we tried cream cheese Rangoon, eggs rolls, meso and egg drop soup for starters. They were all delish. Very fresh ingredients for sure. Seasoned perfectly. Our entree included several choices. We had sweet-and-sour shrimp, pad Thai beef, sweet and sour chicken, and chicken lo mein. All served with white rice. The food was hot. It was definitely authentic Chinese food. The flavors were bursting in our mouth. My family loves coming to Lucky Bamboo. The food is always cooked perfectly and the flavors are exactly what we want when eating Chinese food. Portions are on the generous side so expect to take plenty of leftovers home. Haven't ordered a single plate that didn't taste good wouldn't order again. The thing that stands out the most is the service. We have the same one of two waiters and even when it's been a long time since last dining there the staff remembers our kids and they are entertainingly silly with them. I can't say this is absolutely going to happen if you take your littles, but I don't know why our kids would be treated any differently. So it's fun for our kids which is unique because, let's face it, kids get bored at restaurants really quickly and start behaving in a way ya don't want them to. The food is always fresh and delicious. The waitress was wonderful in recommending, even informing me that some of the things I was asking about were usually not liked by western palettes. Once I told her I had them before she gave me other things that I may like also. The chili oil was as spectacular, and bought some to take home. Dallas and the surrounding areas have a plethora of Chinese food establishments, and in fact, it can be hard to make a decision on which places to choose for a delightful lunch or savory dinner.  I first found out about Lucky Bamboo last year in November, and on that day, I had the General Tso Chicken. Later on this year, I had Mongolian Beef, and today, the fabulous Sweet and Sour Chicken.  I have had Chinese food from Texas, Florida, Nevada, and California, and let me say with my honest and humble opinion: Lucky Bamboo is among the best Chinese food I have ever had. Every single meal I have had from there has been beyond exceptional!  From the high quality meats involved, to the vegetables adjoining, everything is amazingly fresh and packed full of flavor, something many other places in my experience are lacking. The key word, Flavor, I will build upon shortly.   For instance, today, as I dined on the Sweet and Sour Chicken, I was just not only in awe, but I was floored on the quality of it all: The sauce itself, the plump and juicy breaded chicken breast, and the outstanding homemade egg rolls, all created this culinary masterpiece that I enjoyed thoroughly. You do not have this kind of quality in every Chinese restaurant. With this dish, you get the juicy breaded chicken cooked with the sweet and sour sauce together!! Superb! The sauce was smooth and delicate, full of citrus-like flavor and blended perfectly with the fresh fried chicken. Every single thing about this dish worked together as it was created, and meant to be.  The Mongolian Beef I had previously had such a flavorful sauce, and the beef was juicy, tender, and perfectly cooked.  The General Tso Chicken, in addition, was outstanding, unique, and very different from other places I have had: Blanketed with a slightly spicy, yet thick and creamy brown sauce, joined by a side of fresh broccoli bursting with the flavor broccoli should always display. In addition, what I love about Lucky Bamboo is the experience of flavor without MSG, as they publicly state, and it was immediately noticed when I first dined there. Somewhere along the way, the food industry lost sight of the fact that flavor does NOT mean it has to be weighed down with sodium, which nowadays, we endure endless amounts of sodium and MSG in our Chinese food. You know what I am talking about: You are eating food somewhere and you taste sodium more than the actual food.  OR, better yet:  You go out to eat, you come home, and you are almost in a paralyzed state with the intense amount of sodium/MSG that you just engulfed...ha ha!  Not so with Lucky Bamboo with my experience, and I truly appreciate that. While salt/sodium is important and part of everyday cooking, it can also get to a point where there is just too much in some recipes out there in restaurants. Other Chinese places make me feel like I just got run over by an 18 wheel Semi-Truck after eating their food because of that very thing, complete with bloating and intense thirst for the rest of the day. With Lucky Bamboo, that is never the case, as I feel both wonderful and full, and can go on with the rest of my day, so those who care about their health-take note!  The reasoning is simple: Lucky Bamboo indeed uses high-quality/fresh ingredients that brings out the freshest flavor, the NATURAL flavor, that you can truly taste, while not using high amounts of salt or MSG, and that is truly appreciated and very important. The service at Lucky Bamboo is outstanding and among the best I have ever experienced in any restaurant in my entire life!  From first being greeted, to the waitstaff providing superb service throughout the meal, this place genuinely cares about their customers, and the evidence is seen by all.  The restaurant is intensely clean and calming, set in a modern yet elegant atmosphere, which I really enjoy. The waitstaff is personable and a true pleasure to correspond with. The owner, Alice, is by far one of the funniest/sweetest owners of any restaurant I have ever been to.  She loves all of her customers, welcomes everyone with care and substance, enjoys conversing, and I truly appreciate every time I get to talk to her.  These are good people, and good people, along with amazing food, are worth supporting. All of the raving reviews were right! I was craving real Chinese-American food and figured I try the Lucky Bamboo Kitchen out. It is a clean, welcoming and spacious place. Everyone was so friendly! I almost made a huge mistake. I tried to order the Sweet and Sour Chicken with tofu instead of chicken. The wonderful staff person explained that they only use a soft tufu because it cooks nicely without breaking up. But it is not a goo match for deep frying and covering with that gorgeous sauce. I asked for a recommendation and was told General Tso was the way to. I always passed on General Tso for some reason. She described it as having a brown sauce that is sweet and a little spicy. I explained I don't do spicy. No problem. They left the spice out. I am vegetarian so they was nervous about the brown sauce. No need - it's vegetarian! While I waited I enjoyed the crunchy noodles and sweet sauce and some spring rolls. The high quality ingredients were so noticeable. Out came the General Tso and it was gorgeous. Nice crisp steamed broccoli. Lovely white rice. But the tofu and brown sauce were the stars. The tofu was fluffy but didn't fall apart. The sauce was delicious. I'm very confused by the 4 and 5 star reviews. I just received my to-go delivery order, and I am so disappointed. I ordered chicken with broccoli, spring rolls, and egg drop soup. Simply put, the chicken with broccoli is tasteless. I've had chicken with broccoli with both brown and white sauce before from other restaurants, and it's been flavorful. The white sauce version of the dish I received from Lucky Bamboo tonight is bland! On the other hand, I do like my egg drop soup, so I'm giving them an extra star for the soup, but please do NOT order chicken with broccoli if you're seeking the usual saucy, savory version of this classic dish. read more

Really wanted to like this place, especially after all the good reviews. Staff was very friendly and accommodating, considering it was a takeout order. Got a variety of dishes, including the sesame chicken, spicy vegetable lo mein, spicy garlic chicken, chicken fried rice and cream cheese Rangoons along with some of their egg rolls. Family enjoyed the egg rolls and fried rice. Can't really go wrong with those. Unfortunately the lo mein had absolutely no flavor, considering it was spicy. Had to pile on some soy sauce and salt to enjoy it a bit more, though I'm sure my heart did not appreciate the add-ons. I was the only one that had the spicy garlic chicken and had to live it that whole night. Not sure if I'll try it again, considering the side effects I had. read more

I've rated this restaurant before but tonight, I was reading some of the low rated reviews and I must say my experiences have always been excellent. As for the one that talked about racial preference I have seen Alice and her team show everyone the same level of respect and my food has always been exceptional. Ordered delivery of beef fried rice and egg rolls. The egg rolls were of the style I remember with the excellent fried won ton(?) wrap instead of the new-fangled very thin wrap which I don't care for that seems to be the norm now. These were very tasty and had some substance to them. The fried rice was good, and the beef was very lean and tender, however the rice could have used a little more oyster sauce as it was a little on the bland side. I added some soy sauce which helped, but in my opinion a little more oyster sauce and some chopped scallions would have been a plus.
