Peking duck was definitely the highlight of our meal! We enjoyed how crispy and juicy it was, and we loved how the dish came with the duck soup. Our second favorite was the Chinese Vegetable Stir-fry (green bean, eggplant, potato, bell pepper). The mapo tofu was not too spicy, but was very numbing after a couple of bites. The portions were really big, making it a great spot for family style meals.

Ordered peking duck and one vegetable dish, was perfect for two people and even took leftovers home. Total was about 50 dollars, which was a great value. Service was fast and there was no wait to get seated on a sunday afternoon. Ample parking. Food was good.

I am so happy that we were finally able to eat at Bamboo House in Plano. My husband ordered a cup of the egg drop soup and the cashew chicken. I ordered the half-peking duck that came with all of the fixings and duck soup. My husband thought the cashew chicken could use more seasoning but I mentioned that often the chicken does not absorb seasonings as well as pork or beef and that the chicken dish tasted very "clean" to me. I am very sensitive to processed food additives and nothing I tried made me react. His egg drop soup was superb. This was my first try of Peking duck and I just loved it and enjoyed using the crepes to wrap the meat and crispy skin with the cucumber, cabbage, hoisin sauce and plum sauce. Very nice sensory sensation by using the hands. Love that! I found the service to be very efficent and attentive. The bell you ring at the table is an excellent idea and can barely be heard by the customers. I find this to be way more efficient than someone stopping by and checking on you when you aren't in need of anything. They also bring much of the food out on carts and man when those carts are rolling past your table, you find yourself gawking at the dishes and having a bit of entree envy! The portions are HUGE and the pricing seems fair for what you get. The restaurant was very clean and the decor was pretty hip. I plan to return!

Portions are humongous. I think biggest portions in any DFW Asian restaurant I've been twice so far so feel like it's time to give a review. First time I went I felt like the food was ok the duck was ok, but man I went recently and boy did the duck hit on all marks. The skin was so crispy and everything was tasty and fresh. The soup traditionally is good but really shined at Bamboo House. The white pepper was the perfect amount, I even took some home it was that good. Definitely get the duck. The spicy fried Mala chicken was good but i don't know if I'd get it again, I prefer less Mala TBH so if you like the lemon numbness of Mala you will love this. Honey walnut shrimp was great and huge portions, again portions here NEVER miss Get the egg tofu mushroom dish, amazing. Fried rice is decent, above average I think. Personally I think most fried rice at the Asian restaurants are mid, can't beat home cooked fried rice Garlic pea sprouts are a yes Service is actually pretty good Place is pretty clean too If you've only been once I recommend giving it another chance I'll be back

Went for my birthday dinner and had an excellent Peking Duck. Super crispy skin, delicate pancakes/crepes, and delicious duck meat, plus tasty duck soup as an appetizer. Couldn't have asked for a better birthday meal!

DFW is limited in Peking duck, but this place definitely takes the crown for it out of all the places that does serve Peking duck in DFW. The Chinese food is also really delicious too! We love the kungpao chicken, honey walnut shrimp and the soup that goes along with the Peking duck when you order it is fantastic too! Highly recommend!

The food here was authentic and satisfied my craving for good Chinese food. Three of us split a half roast duck, fish filet in sour cabbage soup, and sweet potato in salted egg yolk, and we had plenty of leftovers. The food is flavorful, the soup spicy but not overwhelmingly so, and the duck came with everything you need to make duck wraps (the traditional way) along with a bowl of soup made from duck bones and leftover meat. It was delicious. I liked the sweet potato (not pictured) less than I thought - it was drier than I would have expected, and I felt like it was trying to masquerade as french fries, not the dry-stir-fried traditional dish that it truly is. The ambiance is decent, though not without its areas for improvement (namely the bathroom). That would not deter me from going back for the food, though.

When your favorite foodie uncle is visiting from out of town, this is the place place to bring him! This restaurant specializes in Shanghainese dishes that you can rarely find in this area. Just by the beauty of the dishes you can tell they are delicious. Trust me, the food was amazing. Check out my photos below. We got 2 orders of the duck plus the really thin pancake to make your own duck wrap, duck soup, mixed soup with noodles made of tofu, pea sprouts sautee in garlic, beef tongue (so tender and flavorful!), pepper steak, soup with pork ribs and tofu knots... The thin wrappers for the duck is special! It's rare to find that here in this area. Most places have the steamed bun (mantou). Only complaint is that my uncle ordered two very traditional Shanghainese dishes that were not available so he'll have to return the next time he visits. We had a party of 9 and got a large round table and everyone was seated comfortably with elbow room so this place is great for larger gatherings. Though if you have a small party 4 or less, the front room has smaller tables to accommodate.

Came for dinner on a Sunday evening. It was half full around 5pm. Restaurant is in a multi-story business shopping center. It was a few minutes to get a large table but once seated it was easy to order and the food came out quickly. Ordering Peking duck came with a soup that was served almost immediately. Then, two plates with all the additions (wrap, onion, sauces, cucumber) were served. The soup was enough for about 10 people and included napa cabbage and duck bones. It was flavorful and light. The Peking done was served perfectly soft, crispy, and flab The crispy fish was tasty and the snow pea leaves fresh and the portons were very large. The walnut shrimp tasted good and also a good portion. Prices were high, ranging $15-20 for entrees and $50-60 for special dishes. I recommend bringing a good sized group for sharing to be able to get some of these larger items. Note this is not fine dining as they put a plastic container of water and cups on the table. That's great for families to self-serve.

Peking Duck, Big Plate Chicken with Handmade Noodles This was awesome! The Peking duck was pretty good, skin was decently crispy. I always prefer the buns over the thin rolls, but this was still yummy. The duck soup was pretty good! The big plate chicken with handmade noodles was fantastic. Definitely worth ordering extra noodles with this dish! Was a little too much chicken for me, became overwhelming. But hey, too much food is never a bad problem!

This place is . Prepare to wait during peak dinner time but it is worth it. They turn the tables over and bring the food out pretty quickly even with a full house. If I had to guess by the buttons on the table, it probably used to be a Korean restaurant? Anyways - come in expecting a fairly lively atmosphere with a little dated decor. But the important part is they absolutely nail it on the food! My wife can finally have her lobster with noodles (don't see too many places in DFW serving it that way?) I can have my Peking duck - life is good. But what makes it even better? The eggplant appetizer - If you're gangster enough to eat century eggs and hot peppers with your eggplant, this place pulls it off real well! Just the right amount of heat and it comes in a good size bowl for being labeled an appetizer. Sheesh! If you're feeling adventurous and don't mind chicken bones/oily/spicy check out AP6. Portions are generous and tables are good size so bring the family! Pro tip - even if you only order a half peking duck, it comes with a soup. It is available with crepes which are better and less filling IMO. Their duck blows tian tian's out of the water!

Don't sleep on this new spot! I saw it on Instagram and we immediately booked a double date. PROS: The food! The service! The ambiance! Truly no negatives here. From the front desk to the service we had a blast! The food was fantastic. We tried: ** Peking duck ** Fried Crab **Spring Rolls **Crab Rangoon ** Passionfruit Tea They appear to have just opened and it was very nicely decorated and appropriate to the price point. Ambiance is casual but also a fun spot to dress up just because! CONs: There's a weird bell that appears to ding but we couldn't figure out why. It flashes tae numbers on a screen for the staff. So, be kind of you hear it. It helps them! RECS: Get there early. I don't believe they take reservations. We showed up at 6 and they sat us super quickly! When we left around 8, the line and wait looked quite long.

Is the Peking Duck carve at table side?

No. When the Peking Duck arrives at table it's already carved.

But the reviews were suspiciously glowing, so curiosity (and hunger) won. We pulled up and I took one look at the building: older, unremarkable, zero curb appeal. Classic "meh." Inside, several large round tables with lazy Susans, red tablecloths, and Chinese lanterns. They first sat us in a booth but I requested later on to be moved to a large round table since we ordered A LOT. But back to when we first sat in the booth - As a Chinese woman, the second I spotted the older seats with ripped upholstery, it hit me like a culinary prophecy: this place was going to serve me some incredible, authentic Chinese food. I don't know what it is, but there's an inverse law of Chinese restaurants: the less fancy the exterior (and the more the booth looks like it's survived several natural disasters), the better the food. Apparently they skip Instagram-worthy renovations and put the budget where it belongs--on the plate! This is now hands down in my top 3 favorite Chinese restaurant in North Dallas - I can even say it's on the very top. I haven't forgotten about the staff. They deserve 10 stars. Super nice!

We ate egg rolls, crab Rangoon, and soup, followed up by orange beef and beef fried rice. The crab Rangoon could have used more stuffings, but what was there was good. I thoroughly enjoyed the orange beef. The tenderness of the beef and the taste of the sauce was on point. Definitely don't pass on this one if you are craving Chinese food. Note: they do serve peanuts before the meal, so watch for that with allergies!

We arrived on a Wednesday evening around 7 p.m., and surprisingly, we were the only customers there, considering it was peak dinner time. We also discovered that we needed to pre-order the duck in advance. Luckily, the lady informed us that there was one available for us, but it would take about 30 minutes. We ordered the crispy cucumber salad, xiao long bao, and the dry-fried string beans. The dry-fried string beans were my favorite. The string beans had a delightful crisp texture and a flavorful taste. The cucumber salad was also good, but some parts were a bit soggy. The XLB skin was too thick and chewy, and it didn't taste like the usual soup dumplings, which was disappointing. I was excited for the duck, but I was honestly disappointed when it arrived. The portions were quite small, considering it was a whole duck. It wasn't carved tableside, which was a letdown. Some parts of the duck were dry, and the skin wasn't crispy enough. To add to the disappointment, they charge extra for almost everything. If you want more pancakes or their homemade duck sauce (which tasted like black bean sauce), you'll have to pay an additional $5. Another thing to note is that they are BYOB, so you can bring your own alcohol. However, the menu pictures on Yelp are outdated, and they only offer whole Peking duck, not half orders. Overall, the food was just okay, and I'll probably try a different spot when I'm in the mood for duck again.

One of the best preparations yet. The Singapore noodle combo and Xao Long Bao did not disappoint... More importantly, the service we received was attentive, courteous, knowledgeable, and prompt. The restaurant has to cater to its customers who populate this mix use (business/lease residential) area at the NW corner of Alma and Hwy 121, but doesn't that limit its draw?
