A friend of mine has been dining here for 40 years and that gave me a hint at how special this place truly is. He invited me to lunch, and after navigating the small parking lot, I finally found an open space, and proceeded to enter this authentic Chinese restaurant. The dining room was spacious and not so loud that you couldnt have a conversaton. By authentic, I mean that it does not serve "Americanized" Chinese food. I ordered the fresh shrimp wonton with noodles, the BBQ roast pork, and the Crunchy Noodles with seafood. The broth for the wonton soup was heavenly, very light but seasoned well. BBQ Pork & Roast duck is easily one of my favorite dishes to eat EVER and I'm always on the hunt for it whenever I'm in an area with a sizable Chinese population. I found this place in Richardson and of course I had to come and visit. I got my favorite dish and got a beef flat noodle to go along with it and I don't know which of these two dishes I loved more! I've been coming to this restaurant since I was a kid because my parents absolutely love it. Yes, it's authentic and yes, it was cash only for the longest time. I will say that I do like this location more than the Plano one but I think it's just mainly because this was the original location. Seriously, I've must have been here a 100 times and have eaten 50lbs of duck and roasted pork myself. But, I'm told that only the Plano location has tendon, so your choice. So why the four? Because like I said, this is where my parents want to eat every time they're in the area and throughout the years of eating here, I've noticed that the food isn't always the most consistent. Some times the bbq comes out kinda room temperature and other times it's cooked to perfection. Some times we get the beef clay pot and the meat is tougher than shoe leather, and then other times it's velvety and melts in your mouth. We've ordered fried tofu that was burnt and other times it was beautiful. And since a huge part of five star (for me at least) is that the food is awesome and consistent, I have to be honest and give this a four. Stand outs are the bbq of course and the fried noodles with seafood on top. I do like the different claypots, but I think this was the first restaurant I saw that did this as a kid and so I always look forward to them here. I would definitely stick to the Cantonese specialties that people mention the most and not so much of things like mapo tofu, which I used to order all the time here, until I realized it just wasn't ever going to be spicy or numbing here since it's not a Sichuanese restaurant. read more

Underneath the reasonably crispy skin--it's not Peking duck--there is a layer of delicious duck fat and perfectly cooked juicy and most duck meat. They just get it right like no other....They are also known for a variety of hot pot. My favorite is the mushroom hot pot....Chinese broccoli and baby bokchoy is solid. We came here for my bday dinner today (on a Saturday night) and had a good, but short of great, experience: Veggies (stir fried sprouts and beans/pork) were excellent, fresh, hot and well seasoned. Whole roast duck was excellent, in spite of being lukewarm. It was chopped in a more skillful way than ever before, moist and delicious BBQ pork was solid, barely warm, and well sauced with the signature sweet orange glaze. Roast pork was cold, with soggy skin and a bit on the dry side, possibly due to a long hang time on the hook between removal from the oven and service time. Overall, the meal was a fine value, about $75 before tip, for a grand buffet of flavorful meat and veggies, which we ate less than half the meat and all the veggies. This is my second attempt at a different location to hopefully experience better service. Again, a total let down by their service. The duck still had blood in it and the roasted pork was pink. We asked for them to reheat it. The lady waitress came back with only the duck looking better. The roasted pork was still the same as it was, pink! (You don't eat not fully cooked Pork!) Then at check out, the chinese lady demanded for a higher tip. I'm very generous for good service but this lady deserves only 5.00 for her rude demeanor, on top of their bad service with our food. My first choice was the roast pork hot pot but they told us that they were out of roast pork so we settled for the seafood hotpot. Google maps brought me to First Chinese BBQ & I must say I'm glad it did. The duck was delicious, perfectly crispy skin & tender meat. Upon request I also got a side of homemade finger licking sauce to dip the duck in. It was so good I drank some of it lol. The only pain points I have w/them is that you must pay CASH if you order in person & their portion sizes are small when it comes to the protein. Seriously the rice to meat ratio was 4:1. Nonetheless I was satisfied with what I got & look forward to going back to try other things on their menu (and actually dining in). It's hit and miss depends on the day but when it's good I do really enjoyed the food. Soft shell crab, crab soup, wonton soup, duck, egg omelet are some of the stables. The food was ok, but the stuck-up BBQ meat chopper at the front doesn't even look at the customer when they order the food. His behavior is extremely rude, and be careful when he chopped the meat for you, he will take out all the good parts and only give you the bones. The good parts will be in rice dishes and noodles. This is one of my family's favorite family-style restaurants to go to. They have big round tables, so it's definitely family friendly or even perfect for a big group. I highly recommend ordering food and doing it family style. The wonton noodle soup is a little harder to share, but it is highly recommended because it is SO delicious. The bbq meats remind me of the quality and flavors you can find in Hong Kong. The pricing is reasonable. Coming from LA and NY, the food here is definitely priced at a good price. I wish this place accepts credit/debit cards! The parking here can be difficult at times, especially on the weekends. Was told to go across the street to the gas station. When leaving to go to the car and get more money, I heard them ask my kids where I was going and that they couldn't leave the building.
